New? Got too many skills? Made the mistake of using a level skip and have no idea what anything does? Just hate reading? Try this guide out!
This guide seeks to teach new Ninjas how to Ninja properly, without getting too deep into optimization. I’ll be showing off and explaining some openers but not delving too much deeper beyond that and general skill usage. Endgame is a long way away and there’s lots to learn along the way. Start slow and work your way up one skill at a time! Then, graduate to more advanced guides.

Just started leveling my rogue. Thanks!
I've said it before but I'll say it again, the "karaoke opener" is brilliant. Makes it clear what the tempo of the opener is, especially for the faster jobs like Ninja, Monk, and Samurai
Ninja always intimidated me.
Wouldn't using the 'attack and get huuton' be better in the opener than actual huuton'? Great vid by the way
i always did shockoochi manually.. it just becomes force of habit after playing NIN since it came out. when i first heard ppl were doing the mouseover macro i kept saying "ya, im gonna look into that asap" ..right 'asap' was about.. i think 4 years ago? 😅 haha we'll get there. great vid as always!
Watch as you go from bunny hat to bunny boi! ahahaha!
There was a change that makes using Shukuchi much, much easier. In character configuration under the target option you can see ‘Limit ring movement to targeting range’ this prevents the target reticle from moving beyond its 20 yalm cap. It’s so useful and makes the skill way easier to use
king
Which one is next? I'm really looking forward to dragoon and/or dark knight. Keep up the good work!
Huraijin is new for endwalker isnt it? I dont remember it in shb
that beginning bit was so dumb I CANNOT lmao
thanks for doing all of these videos! the openers you recommend are really great!
It’s like you knew I picked up Ninja a week ago and had a panic attack trying to learn the job and needed help. Well played Sir
A bit of Feedback:
– For Shukuchi and similar abilities I think it is worth it to take the time and go over the settings which limit your curser to the range of the skill and the option to activate the skill by pressing the button again.
– I think for the Ninjutsu it would have been great if you the relevant part of your cheat sheet in addition to saying the combination. Having only the names can be quite confusing for new players and skipping back and forth in a video is never fun.
Otherwise a great video. After being more than a bit puzzled from the EW tooltips at launch I said to myself that I will level the class later (meaning after you made a video explaining them). It now seems really straight forward and I think I am exicted to play Lv. 90 NIN!
Thank you so much for this video. I was struggling to figure out how I should fit the raijus in the TA window and you cleared it up!
23:04 I remember back when hearing people say this, I thought it was a meme. But I've seen this in action way more than I should. I hope those SIngle target doton users see this.
I have a deep hatred of the new Raiju skills since as an Evil Pikachu everyone keeps telling me to use Volt Tackle.
I was not ready for that beginning when a literal viera dropped on screen XDDD
You keep reading my mind!!! This is the guide I have really wanted since I recently got nin into the 50s and its been one of the most fun and enjoyable jobs to play for me so far!! It’s very exciting to see you release a video for it 🖤🖤 thank you so much
The one hat viera actually CAN wear is the ninja bunny which is a power move
Your "Watch as you go from this… to THIS" are getting better every video
False! There are viera-approved hats in EW…some of them atleast.
Also that viera appearing at the intro threw me off guard.
One more thing on mug. If you're on free trial, this is a godsend to farm leathers for crafting.
My NIN is 90 and I feel like I do fine on it but having a primer like this is always nice, thanks WeskAlber!
So since Bunshin is on a 90 CD and used on CD, it'll be 360 seconds before it's available during a major burst window (assuming a fight takes that long), so at level 90 would it be optimal then to do the major opener as normal but replace Bunshin with Bhavacakra and Phantom Kamaitachi with the next weaponskill in sequence, and then carry on as normal (with gust slash at the end instead of spinning edge)?
As a Ninja main that has cleared all current Savage content, I give this guide a 10/10 for people getting into the job! Great presentation and all the information has value.
I might have honestly missed this tip in the video, so forgive me if I'm repeating anything you've covered but for those that have watched this guide and wonder how to go from post opener to your next trick attack etc, here are some just general tips:
1 – Always Use Bunshin on cooldown after you see it's first use in the opener in the video above. Also, when you unlock Phantom Kamaitachi, you can save it for your next trick attack 99.9% of the time, so after you Bunshin, just hang onto it and use it like you do in the opener.
2 – While prepping for your next trick, make sure to not overcap your Ninki. You'll get a feel later on when to save more of it during which trick attack you do but holding onto it just overcaps what could have been another skill used later on.
3 – Your Mudras come back every 20 seconds so it's a good idea to use Suiton to prep Trick around 20 seconds before you need to use it to keep from potentially overcapping mudra charges. You have wiggle room here so don't worry about it too much at the start.
There are more advanced things later but with this amazing guide and keeping in mind the flow from 1 trick to the next, you'll be the next Hokage. Believe it.
Rogue NEEDS to be made a base class.
Out of all the jobs i've played, ninja is the one i most needed a vid for, thank you
"This is weaker than Raiton. This is weaker than Raiton. This is weaker than Raiton. This is weaker than Raiton. This has ALWAYS been weaker than Raiton."
Instructions unclear used Doton on no targets.
I was expecting a super flashy battle sequence but instead you just did Lagomorph again and a bunny boy leapt out. XD
Great video. I'm actually going to make Yoshimitsu my first Zodiac relic because I'm already further on the path with Ninja than any other. (Just finished my third Animus weapon, Thyrus, and need a break. The animus step takes two full days because of the random spawns of FATEs. :()
Also one more thing to add that's great for leveling pulls…. If you use Ninjutsu to create a doton and immediately use a shukuchi, you will actually pull the doton pool with you to a mob pack. Very minimal if you want to get the cd rolling on your ninjutsu during trash pulls sooner and making you less vulnerable in case you need to avoid AOEs, but it's a 10/10 for style points.
Rest In Peace Shadowfang. You will be missed.
Me: is a simple scholar watching because I like learning about different roles
Wesk: goes over all the ARR and HW skills
Me: wow I can see how this job is super difficult!
Wesk: Stormblood is where it gets far more complex.
Me: uwawawawawawhat
Great video~ NIN is my main and its a weirdly intimidating DPS job. It has to do so much that its overwhelming at first but once you get a flow/your own pace its hard to not enjoy.
I'd like to see WHM next, because I'm pretty sure Endwalker screwed them up so bad that they no longer get an ability from their level 15 class quest.
One of the few things I still like about WoW over FF14 is how comprehensive and workable the macro system is. 14's is… different.
Even since ShB i still dont get it why they upgrade Hyoton instead of Raiton for the Kassatsu Upgrade. Its a Skill no one uses and where the Muscle Memory is complete lost for it. But as soon as someone hits 76 he have to regain his Memory for this Skill.
Anyway awesome Video like always. Didnt touched the NIN since ShB launch and only leveled him to 80 for the completion. The EW changes specially with assassinate are really nice though. Maybe i check the NIN after i finished my RPR to 90 (also thx to your really nice Guide for it)
Just curious: Why doesn't NIN use Mug between Spinning Edge and Gust Slash in the opener? Even if the optimal is to pot there, can't you double-weave potion-mug there and have your fallback be simpler? Or are party buffs starting to come out during that window so Mug just does extra damage worth the delay?
Genuinely trying to know the logic behind it so I can improve.
Been looking forward to this guide, just hit level 45 on Ninja and got the third mudra and hadn’t had a chance to test all the ninjitsu out and memorize the inputs for them all yet so this will be a big help
Also feel very stupid for not knowing about hide recharging mudra cuz I’ve done so much MSQ as ninja with no idea about that
Damn the Karaoke Opener was legendary! Also hearing it being said that fast gives me an understanding of the speed and also made it more clear for me. Thanks a lot, Wesk! I'm new to playing NIN and this is beyond helpful! 😀
Really good video. Especially helpful as I plan main on ninja. But also wanted try samurai. Eagerly waiting for leveling video on that.
