  1. "Im prepared and ready for this story now" – Most famous last words.

Heh. I really want to see you stream on twitch but now I cant do this until i've seen these all the way through to not accidentally spoil myself on your reactions and lore discovery on the way. Oh curses!
I will never get over that Venat is having a legit cockney twang when is isn't trying to be the "Great mother crystal". She really is the workhorse of the Azems isn't she?
Also at first I was confused since Venat's name don't really fit the Ancient greek naming scheme, i really should have remembered that with japanese pronunciantion it would not be "hunter" but "Venus". Which is so appropriate. Well… not original Venus but our view of her. Light, protection. Love. The very cornerstone of her nature.
Also please tell me you said her name when you had the chance. You know where.

I sense that you are not HOSTILE to Venat as a person and character. Its a bit hard to decipher, but i'll end up on that conclusion.

Why Doggoe is how it is? Because it looks like Venat:-)

Meteion is going to INFINITY and BEYOOOOND!

"I did not teach you how to walk the earth" Yeah. That right there. The fatal flaw of the ancients only reversed. They really never was forced to grow up were they? To confront pain and suffering. (Well…yet at this point) Whether from the complete inability to teach it and discipline from Hermes and his drive for freedom or the opposite from Emet. I wonder how many caught on to the duality and what it meant for the final days even later in the story? Glad to see there at the end we both came to the same conclusions:-)

No matter how much he complained Emet Selch was ALWAYS the first to come to the aid of Azem. So of course he would even IF he didn't come around. Especially with the mischief Gremlin Hyth right next to him:-)

Who created the tentacle mouth creatures? Well… It would take a powerful creator. Maybe a conclave member. The one in charge of terrestrial life? Loghrif. DAMN YOU GAIA!!!

Ok this is way to long already, but as you might have divined i'm rather keen on this game and your playing it. Still need to have energy for Kthisis and what comes after. Anyway BYYEEEEE

  2. Here we get introduced to "Flow" a song that starts beautiful and just gets more poignant as the story goes. Didn't expect them to be able to weaponize a song as hard as they did Tomorrow and Tomorrow again, but Elpis is just the arc that keeps on giving.

  3. I love that everyone's first reaction to Flow Together is to grab your headphones and squish your head to hear it better. I did the exact same thing.

  4. I remember reading an article about the universe being silent when our satellites pointed at the heavens. It was attributed to the concept of "The great filter" where all great civilization must go through in order to carry on. So far, none has done so. Hence the silence in space. Many Astronomers who listens to the heavens build their careers based on the assumption that life flourish in our universe. But what if that very assumption is challenged? Then the very premise of questions and meaning of life we ask would be flawed. And the most convenient truth would appear in a form that life exist only to not exist. The writing team of this expansion has done an excellent job on researching this niche outlook for life in the universe. It feels more like anti-science fiction in a way.

  5. This is Final Fantasy's way of answering the Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter.

The idea is that all intelligent life will eventually confront the very question Herme's has asked and the answer will always be the same, no matter what method is used to achieve it. It's depressing, but the entirety of Endwalker is figuring out the alternative to that answer. Every zone and section of EW tackles the question "What gives life purpose?" in different ways. Does life's tribulation and obstacles make living ever worth it? It ties in brilliantly with the concept of 'Primals' and what the power of belief does for people. Throughout FFXIV, we see both sides of this concept. Religious zeal will only beget tyranny, as with the Archbishop Thordan. To lose that same belief, or faith, is the result of what had happened with Quintus van Cinna. It's an umbrella theme that encapsulates that of the expansions and is a brilliant narrative vehicle to help tell the story.
