  1. Nothing like being a black mage and purposefully putting your ley lines on the exact boundary of an aoe, only for a healer to rescue you 10 miles away from the lines when you were already safe.

  2. Rescue is the one healer tool I refuse to use unless I'm in VC with the person and have their permission to use it. I have had too many people yell at me for saving them from dying because "They were going doing the mechanic correctly".

Such as one case, I rescued a person out of the flying train in one of the nier raids which is an instant death, reason for the rescue is they died to it before and they were about to die to it again. after the rescue they told me to go away in colorful language and left the raid. Even in VC I have had people yell because I rescued them when they were about to die trying to greed out damage ruining their combo. So it has adapted to be a skill in the corner of the screen that I rarely ever use now.

Tip to most healers learn to use the tool but never use it as it creates a lot more issues than it solves.

  3. Basically never use rescue unless a person is 100% not able to dodge an aoe, because of stun/charme, etc, or is sprinting to you and struggling to get to the save zone, or obviously doesn't know a mechanic and is standing in a wrong position because of it and would die from it.
Otherwise Rescue can be really disorientating and a heal after someone getting hit by an AoE that doesn't kill is often the better solution instead.
And never ever rescue Black Mages. They have their own ways of dealing with situations xD

  4. I've used rescue to help people catch up in dungeons who fell far behind, they never complain, however I never use it outside of that. Well I lied occasionally you get chill alliance raid groups who are all having fun doing pvp with consent. Edge rescuing will always be fun on your friends. I miss having friends who play this for that exact reason.

  5. in some lower level dungeon runs, if a tank doesn’t use Interject or Low Blow and I see an enemy that needs something interrupted, a Swiftcast + Repose can do the job. good enough in a pinch! looking at you, that one last enemy with the “Seduce” cast in Sirensong Sea. works up to higher level dungeons on some enemies as well. there’s the risk of having them die from not using mits in some of those cases but I like to live dangerously.

  6. Another thing Rescue is not for: tugging tanks along because they're not pulling as fast as you prefer. If you'd like them to go faster, ask. If they refuse or remain silent, suck it up or leave.

  7. I seem to remember that the final Healer Role Quest in Shadowbringers forces you to use Repose for some goddsforsaken reason. That's literally the only time I used it and had to add it to a bar.

  8. Thank you for this video. I always like to check if I know everything I should know as a healer. ❤️
I can’t get the hang of using rescue. I don’t use it most of the time, unless the player is about to be kicked off the platform and assuming I’m in a safe spot and the tank is fine! Surecast is still something I’m working at too. It requires you to know the boss action that needs it! If you repeat the same battles over and over you’ll eventually get the gist of it. Of all of it really. Probably. 😅

  9. my current uses for rescue:

    -troll my FC during roulettes

-in the sunken temple of qarn if someone doesn't know you can clear doom by standing on the platform you can rescue them into it

-you can pull people into stack markers
