  1. For me personally:

PLD: A – I'm comfortable with the way I set up my controller (can post screen shots on Discord or Tweet @)
DRK: C – Not very versed much in it, has a lot of button congestion
GNB: S/Cid – Fast paced DDR action on the controller and very fun!
    WAR: NA – Haven't played, won't rank

WHM: S – After your controller guides on what's important, I improved my game on WHM
SCH: D – Too much controller congestion
    AST: NA – Haven't played, won't rank

SAM: E – I love the class, but too much congestion and to fit in the 32 slots on controller… too much happening for it.
MNK, DRG, NIN: NA, Haven't played, won't rank

MCH, DNC, BRD: NA But only cause I haven't got them to max, starting level fine as there aren't many skills.

    RDM: C/D – Lot's of button congestion
BLK: NA, Haven't played, won't rank
    SMN: D – Controller congestion… again

BLU: All the ranks – Depends on the disposition you que in as and your skill level.

Looking forward to trying the new classes!

But I don't use macros as they say it's DPS loss, so had to make sacrifices on my kit to bring my 32 Skills adjusted in rotation order (so my brain says X, O, /. [] or 1-2-3….)

  2. As I have only ever played on controller I have to say my favorite class to play would have to be Ninja 🥷. It is super smooth and comfortable. My close 2nd is Red Mage.

  3. I just wanna say; I love your controller guides and thanks to you, it was easy for me to switch to controller. Although sometimes I do mess up when I panic xD especially healer, but it’s the muscle memory thing :3 I was able to adapt after a few days of playing though! I have yet to try out tank with it. It definitely did make the experience fun! 🙂

  4. As someone who been playing since 2.0 on a Controller, the hardest jobs, without a doubt, is Scholar and Ninja.

It really comes down to pure muscle memory to play maximum effectiveness both healing and dps without missed dots.

I play ALL jobs but scholar takes the cake.

  5. That is good news regarding SMN. I'm in agreement with you that SMN on controller right now is insane.

I don't agree with you on PLD. I'd say C. The button bloat is definitely a problem.

WAR just feels so good right now. I'm stoked for the changes in EW. WAR is one of my mains.

SAM feels ok. It's the oGCD that can be a bit tricky. The job really suffers from button bloat.

  6. I don't play on a controller, nor do I plan to, BUT I greatly enjoy watching your controller guides. It's really nice to see how viable this game is on both controller and keyboard/mouse. It also helps me in Novice Network when I give advice. I can pass on advice you have stated and recommend your guides to people.

  7. Thanks so much for all your controller guides – it's one of the first things I look at when I'm setting up a new class. Being able to play on controller really brought me back to the game. I've been a PC/keyboard gamer since the 90s, but FFXIV just feels so much better to me on controller.

So far I have WHM/BLM/RDM at 80 – I was formerly a BLM main but I like RDM much more. I also have PLD at about 35. I haven't noticed a problem with it on controller yet, but I don't have most of the skills so I wouldn't be surprised to see the issues start showing up when I get more skills.

All the classes have felt natural to play with your guides and I haven't felt the need to tweak my layouts much, I'm I'm curious to see what you think can be optimized.

  8. I wish you would try what I did to modify your ninja guide. Put the ninjitsu on your left side of hotbar 2. You go into ninjitsu mode easy enough and then pop back into normal combat.
