  1. Lol. I am absolutely pricing my rarer dyes on the high side right now. I'm expecting those dyes to go up in price when the expansion drops so I want to have a good supply of them. Also weep for the poor emo Reaper and Dark Knight mains who will now need 2 jet black dyes per item. 🤣

  2. my cpu won't be able to meet the requirements anymore.
guess i'll be running around in slideshow levels of FPS, but hey I'll get to see a few cool new textures before my pc catches fire.

  3. More dyeable options are always good, however, I like how they're very aware of how scuffed it could look if they just threw in 8 dye channels and called it a day.

A lot of MMO's have great dye systems, but I'd argue FFXIV has the best glams overall. Glam is not just spell effects, the amount of versatility–you can go from a glowy badass WoL to a maintenance man–is something most MMO's can't match. There is almost nothing you can't create with FFXIV's glams.

I don't think 3 or 4 dye channels are needed for FFXIV, though I would gladly welcome any more. I just think they should continue on the path they're on: being aware of textures, and how accessories look in conjunction with the whole outfit. The quality of FFXIV's glams have always been a strength, and that quality is only getting better with the graphics upgrade.

  4. I'm pumped. One of the strongest features in FFXIV imo compared to, in particular, WoW's transmog system is the ability to dye so many different pieces. Whenever I used to play WoW, I hated how I was forced into sets usually because pieces just did not go well with pieces from other sets and then you saw 500 other people in the same gear as you. Dyeing allows you to mix-and-match items better and helps make your glam feel different even if another's is similar because at least the color palate may differ. Two dye colors will just help this further, allowing more mix-and-matching and creativity to shine through!

  5. I hope they add this soonish to the new re-res artifact gear outfits in Wolves' Den for trophy crystals. They dye so wierd with one color tinting everything, I really really really want to make glams with Scholar's lvl 60 set and I think the two-dye channels will work much better for them.

  6. It's fun to be excited for not only new content but revamps of old content. I don't regret jumping ship from WoW to FF14. They deliver when they say they are going to do something.

  8. Cant wait for this, but any word on more glam plates??? As for gear, i really hope this applies to the neo oshardoan sets… Id love to make a steam punk set, but that gear just doesnt always look the best with some dyes…

  9. Can't wait for dps wait in line simulator. I've never really had a DPS that I thoroughly enjoyed to level up at the start of an expansion and now that we have Pictomancer I'm all. Over it.

  10. Hopefully with dual dye channels, they go back to previous gear that were undyeable and make them dyeable (OG and Reused Models) even to this day, I'm still waiting and hoping the Diabolic Helm of Fending will become dyeable.

  11. I am very much excited for this! Thanks for sharing with us the updates on the dye channel feature we are getting in Dawntrail! It really is such a major difference when you can add another color to a piece of glamour!

  12. Finally, I can change the color of the metal plates on the Light Steel set, and just in time for female hrothgar too.

That said, I do wonder if this is going to effect dyeable weapons as well, as I don't remember if any of their previews showed some off.

  13. my assumption for the shirt at 7:00 from how they explained it being two different texture/fabric types etc is that the way the game is coded, each fabric type would need its own dye channel, so for that shirt example they could only dye one part of it with the second channel, if they wanted the swede/leather-ish middle part dyed, the shirt would probably need a third dye channel for that fabric part specifically. Bare in mind this is just an AASUMPTION based on explanations given, i could be way off but yeah..

I hope Yoshi-p is ready for the "third dye channel when?" wave that will come after this lol

  14. I don't think all gear will automatically have two dye channels. Creating a second channel has to be a manual process since they have to specify which sections of each piece are channel 1 and which are channel 2.

  15. Not only are there 2 channels. But as i understand, the early gear is being updated to modern specs. I hope that they change the elements that look like football pads. So much gear is never glammed because of that 1 factor
