  1. Really baffles me how it took them ten years to even do these dye extensions and heck, QoL UI changes.

One UI gripe I continue to have is the quest log being that archaic WoW-style one that just extends downwards indefinitely. Why can't it have draggable borders and a scroll? Like idk… the chatbox??

  2. Extremely disapointed by SE that they still are not willing to rework the glamour system. They need to throw it into the trash and inspire themselves from other MMOs. WoW and GW2 glamour system are simply superior in every ways.

  3. yeah i really dont understand the choices for some of dye-able pieces. were there certain limits or constraints on certain items? who knows. but for the love of all that is holy, can we get more glam plates, please?! im at the point where im unlinking glam plates, and just applying glamours manually to each piece of gear… i don't want my bard/machinist/dancer all to be in the same outfit! that reminds me, i gotta start clearing out my dresser too, because thats all clogged with stuff ill probably never use… in short, theres a LOT that needs to be improved upon in the glamour system…

  4. It just crossed my mind 😂 "Dawntrail: Get Used To Disappointment"

That being said, some armors have sensible dye selections while others, like the skirt, are lackluster. The silver lining is there are options, at least, but it's cold comfort for those with exquisite fashion sense (not me).

  5. The ability to dye gear is the only thing the system has going for it for me and everything else is needlessly, restrictive or annoying. Needing to put items in a dresser with limited space rather than just having some sort of appearance collection tab like wow which need to be repaired first for no real reason other than to annoy and waste time and increasing the number of plates just seem obvious to me. Also trying on an item showing you the itemed its glamoured into is dumb.

  6. i dont think Squeenix gives a damn about this. theyre prolly like "we gave you the damn feature, what more can you ask?"

Another disappointment is the femhroth. Lack of hair and ridiculously large shoulder fittings. Its larger on femhroth than on femroe.

  7. I know there are still glaring issues, but to be fair to the pvp set that was featured 4:28, there are two versions of every one of those pieces. It looks like there are 4 sets, but really there are 2 versions of 2 sets. So while one of the pants (as well as the other pieces) stays gray with just tiny accents that get colored, there IS another full set where the gray part of those pants is what gets colored. So if you're buying that stuff, make sure to try on the individual pieces and test to make sure you're getting the right piece.

edit: ALSO, worth noting, that we know through modding that that literally every color on all these pieces of gear IS on its own channel. For people that use things like glamourer, you can literally change every tiny piece of color on an item, even for very simple items like necklaces and earrings. So it's just up to square enix to chose the correct color channels to be the ones that get dyed. In some cases, it appears that they were thorough and choose the best two options (out of like 15), but in other cases, they clearly just picked the top two channels and called it a day, which is unfortunate if that happened to be a popular piece.

  8. I do really like the double dye feature however theres a bunch of pieces I really wanted to be able to dye but it had the issue of dyeing a minor part and not the main part most people wanted, its to the point the gear just doesnt work aesthetically with anything other than the original colour so there's no purpose in dyeing it at all. Its very frustrating and Im just totally baffled as to why the devs thought it was be a good idea to do it this way… the main issue in the first place was the main two coloured areas of a piece of gear not going well together/wanting to customise it better but you're not achieving that by making a tiny part of the gear dyeable its just a waste of everyones time to do it at all. Im not a developer so maybe theres restrictions im not aware of but thats my feelings anyway. I just hope they get the feedback and improve on it in the future.

  9. Meoni, if you see this question, please answer…. With the PS5 pro going digital only,… Would FFXIV look better on the pro console the normal ps5? They have showed some games like FF Rebirth which have an advanced version for the Ps5 pro. Will XIV look better on the Ps5 pro? or will it stay the same? I'm interested in getting the Ps5 pro just to play FFXIV as best visual
out there, but to make sure the Ps5 pro can do this? will all games look better on the pro…. including FF XIV? I mean its a MMORPG so its kinda of different from most games being online and all

  10. Bridesmaid's tights is the goofiest for me.

It's such a commonly used item yet they made the 2nd dye the random patterns on it that you can barely notice..

Instead of having the stockings and the underwear be the two dye options…

  11. I was expecting an excellent feature, and I'm rather disappointed, even on the cash shop outfits, including the magitek set, the secondary color: the inside of my hood and a small piece of barely visible fabric, but not the big black sweater under the jacket.

And on some sets, it's supposed to dye a 2nd color, but you can't even see it, always on cash shop.

As for the Dawntrail & Relics Gear ingame, some of it's nice, but other stuff just doesn't work. And there's no improvement to the coloring problems, whose colors aren't that visible…

    Very Meh…

  12. Considering how embarrassing some of the dyeable options have been since they introduced the feature, I should not have been excited for the dual dyes.

I don't know who at Squeenix is in charge of deciding what parts of a gear piece are dyeable. I assume it's not a person, but a fish in a bowl. "Fish Plays Dye Channels."

  13. Yea it's likely sadly a way the 3d models are rigged, as someone who's toyed with texturing stuff in second life, and knowing penumbra users are commenting with similar ideas — it's REALLY hard with the way 3d is done, i'ts NOT just the engine, there's things even with mesh in ANY game that's really hard. If they "merged" the two to save polygons, that's why the dye system is sadly limited, you can only change colors/textures for so many faces.

  14. A lot of disappointments… the double dye, the hyped up graphical update, the 7.0 msq, the customer support service system which is a joke…. Having to come to terms that after 10 years playing this game maybe it’s time to finally move on.

  15. The one i hate the most is the male lalafell pants, could've had different colors for the cloth and leather sectiona but instead the second dye is for a small badge that can only be seen from the front and will be obscured by most chest pieces making it completely pointless

  16. When DT first dropped, I went to my Glamour Dresser to redye my gear…
And 99.99% of the items had basically no difference with the second dye channel because the second dye channel was on something so small and insignificant.

  17. Yep dye is material dependant . You can get an armor dye it snow white , it will end up metal gray . Grin . So do not rely on color palate too much . Trial and error is very important . I suspect its a work in progress

  18. if something isn't "Gender locked" it should have a model appropriate version for both genders. there are so many glams in game where they didn't bother to gender lock something that didn't have a model more appropriate for the male version of a character, (the diadocus casting set comes to mind). i wouldn't mind them allowing for someone that wants to use that diadocus casting top for a male miquote, in a very feminine glam but the base set should have something that doesn't need to be glammed for anyone playing a male character that doesn't want to have to glam that piece. the indugators set is a very good example of a "gender neutral" set, it doesn't matter what gender you are, it looks good on any model, and it doesn't need to change based on the model either. it just works, but the diadocus casting set… is just too feminine as a base. What saddens me is that the game devs know how to make more gender neutral outfits yet they still make some very not gender neutral sets. they even have alt models for pieces based on the type of character you play so it's not even a question of not having the ability to provide alternate models, it's a question of them modeling something different for different character types.

  19. i understand SE's problem here…cause theyve made the first dye for many old items already messy so where the bigger part uses the actual dye and some other parts use that dye but darker and muddy looking…therefore they didnt give us the second dye channel for the messed up color cause there are plenty of ppl who already made glam with this color and made it to work on some outfits…so because these muddy colors are not available they thought its too risky that these ppl would freak out because they destroyed their favourite glam so instead they pick some tiny parts of the glam that havent been affected by the first dye in the past and give these the second dye channel…i also totally understand why they made some tiny already colored parts available to dye…cause its easy to match different glams together which are just black/white/grey etc as long as they dont have a bright color on them which you cant change…so to make it easier to create outfits with different set pieces we can now dye such annoying bright colors …but yea im also not happy with the change especially with that first part ive mentioned cause i loved my default lala outfit but ive always only wanted to dye the red scarf and now i can dye the brown west and the first dye still changes the dress and scarf color but in a muddy way again…i hate it 😛

  20. Check out Dawntrail artifact Gunblade. A tiny un noticeable bead in the gunblade is the dyable piece. It took me several minutes just to figure out what was changing in for Dye 2.

Having said that they really should have the main elements Diablo. These should include a threshold metrics about what percentage a particular color dominates a piece and have the two largest percentages dyeable. The could probably even use an algorithm to same their team a lot of work reviewing every piece in the game.
