FFXIV Deep Dungeon Solo Content moving into the Future & Dawntrail

As we move into the new Final Fantasy 14 (FFXIV) Dawntrial Expansion at the end of June (Early Access)/beginning of July, I have my general plans set for my content moving forward.

I have not shared my plans via a YT video before, so here you go! Also I wanted to see what you guys would like to see from my side of things as we re-do all our runs as well as the new jobs in Palace of the Dead (PoTD), Heaven on High (HoH), & Eureka Orthos (EO).

Comments will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for watching and thank you for the support!

  1. Thanks for the contribution to the community! Just ran out of time last night on 199 to a portal on the other side of a super packed room that a rage and a reso couldn't take out on WHM and here I am, starting the trip all over again. It's fun right? Right?! Yes it is 😉

  2. Honestly i think what you give us is incredibly valueable. And esspecially you pulling every enemy and letting us know what each enemy does, i have needed it on my runs and it has allowed me to reach heights i never would.
I dont think you are able to give advice/help with this. But my biggest roadblock when it comes to (in this case) Necromancer is the pressure, i am so scared to fail because it would mean losing another 6+ hours of doing low floors. How were you able to mentally push yourself through that roadblock.

  3. You're one of the good ones Angelus – may not be the biggest FF14 channel out there but there's not a single person in the game who hasn't used your videos and expertise in deep dungeons as an invaluable resource. Keep grinding my brother I'll see you on floor 100 o7 (I'd like to see some white mage runs)

  4. huge thanks for the dedication of keeping the guides up to date, the game changes every expansion and it's often confusing to reference older guides if you don't know what's been changed. Excited to see new job runs!

  5. Hey, Angelus! Just a quick suggestion.

I personally don't like the idea of having the old deep dungeon videos be marked unlisted. For a couple of reasons.

When I was getting Necromancer, the thing that helped me the most was being able to watch multiple versions of your POTD runs on the later floors. This way I can find a run where you have LESS pommanders than would be ideal, and see what strategies you use to make up for your lack of pommanders.

Unfortunately, at one point during my climb you did end up unlisting/removing one of the videos I was using, and it was difficult to relocate it. But the strategies you used in that video were still very helpful, and I wanted to revisit them.

Personally, I'd recommend just making a title change to make it super obvious. Something like [OUT OF DATE. OLD VIDEO. SEE LINK TO NEW ONE IN DESCRIPTION] at the start of the video should remove most of the issues with players finding older guides, IMO.

If you are against that option, putting together a google doc where you link the unlisted videos by order of Job/date, and then including a link to that google doc in your video descriptions would help out a ton, IMO. If you go this route, I'd also suggest mentioning it at some point in the run, just so new people know about it.

This is mostly super helpful for POTD, as I don't think people really need this much research for HOH or EO. But having 3 versions of your POTD runs for reference is largely what I attribute to my success in getting Necromancer, and part of the reason I didn't have to do as many runs.

  6. I am excited for the future of the deep dungeon community. I have seen an upsurge in new players thanks to eo and it doesnt seem to be dying down any time soon. This is in part to players like you and Fihn who release so much helpful content to allow newer players to power through their solo clears. I think it is also good that you are redoing your older guides since some advice is no longer applicable or different (like removing food buff during behemoth meteor).

  7. Thanks to your time management video I managed to get to 81-90 on my first ever attempt of HoH solo on WAR. I'd like to see more guides on how to handle higher floors when you have bad/no poms, and maybe some more videos showing time management (so we can see more examples of bad sets, etc)

  8. one of the biggest helpful thing for me in PoTD was a list of each enemy on each floor set and what i need to look out. video guides that just goes though each floor and what each enemy does does and how to do deal with them would have been so good as seeing them doing the abilities vs text would have helped. Otherwise keep up the great work!

  9. Looking forward to watching the new world first runs in DT! One thing that really helped me get all my clears were the guide videos where you pulled all monsters, as well as the challenge runs where you stopped picking up new chests past floor 70/170 to show how to manage everything assuming low poms. Those are the two big issues imo when you're low on time, using poms without a plan and wasting them and then not chain pulling enemies because of hesitation on facing something that is bright red on Maygi's guide. If you are redoing the guides those are definitely things I'd add.
