Is there any way to get the mats needed for the grade 4 level 40 skybuilders crafts other then going to the diadem and gathering them?
Crafting should never be burned through. Unless ur on a alt. New players should enjoy the journey and learn about raising difficulty as they level up. Read tool tips practice rotations experiment. Learn what combos work best. Endgame isn't as fun as the journey.

you dont even need to do level quests for the final levels, you get so much xp from diadem/restoration you dont have to leave. I got all my crafters from 60-80 easy last year
is ishgardian restoration a limited event? would it be prudent to get these jobs done now or will i be fine doing other things first?
Im just enjoying the journey and the process, i imagine how boring it would be to have max lvl doh / dol that quick.

If you are not in a rush to get every single crafting job to 80, I recommend leaving some at 60 to do the Namazu and some at 70 for the Dwarfs. Sure, you can buy the Glided Mikoski mount, but I feel is more worth it to complete the Namazu questline and the other crafting beast tribe to unlock the emotes and other rewards.

Great guide, although I already have everything maxed, this is the method I imagine a person to be using for efficiency.
The spreadsheet with lvl 26 is either wrong or I am doing something wrong. At 27 BS – I have 158 craft, 166 control, 262cp. Spreadsheet says to have 150 craft, 130 control, 236cp at lvl 26. But each time, my synths fail.

i've spent over 2.5 mils on crafting jobs now, i think im just wasting money, god im too poor to buy lvl 70 gears
i was told that crafting can earn alot of gil, well, i've spent way more
i just leveled my crafters by doing the provisions missions, or just straight out buying the items on the marketboard if i lack recipes. that way i don't have to play crafter for more than a few minutes everytime. levequests also did boosts a few levels up. i got all my yellow crafter gear from my squadron missions too, so i wasn't really playing a lot of crafting to get to level 80.

I used Fur Daddy guide step by step for my leveling of all the crafters and I can tell you its going to cost millions of gil to get to 80 on all of them. Have two level 80 crafters done and the rest are at lvl 63, so far spending 5-10 mil gil. Been saving alot of gil by using gear from yellow and white script farming instead of buying it and went to other servers for materials (also used my own farmed material from diadem). The lower lvl grade 4 materials cost more then the ones used for lvl 80 crafts (in most cases), so I expect spending an other 5-10 mil gil just to get the material. Also, the time it takes to craft, buy, create macros, travel, gear change etc is way more the 3h. Let's say you have everything you need in you inventory at lvl 1, the crafting would take more then 3h (crafting is the fast part). It's an insane amount of crafting material you would need to buy and have in your bag (gear also). A Speedrun 3h might be done with perfect execution:)
There is some ways to get back gil from your grade 4 handins by using the skybuilders scripts and kupo stamps. But its not even close to the amount you spend unless you are RNG god with kupo lottary stamps.
Not writing to you all here because its bad advice to use this method, its quite the opposite. It's relatively fast, painless and probably the least costly way of doing it. Just don't expect to have your crafters leveled in one day with the time and gil that is given (like I did;) ).
I'm a relatively new player to this game/returning player from before all this expansions and I might have missed something important. If that is the case then please point it out to me, still have all the other crafters at lvl 63 to level:(
