I want to emphasize that my decision behind using standard is completely subjective and I know many people use Legacy and its advised by many content creators – In the video, I pretty much go over the major reason why I don't use Legacy and if they just make that 1 simple change, it would be a life saver.

Standard vs Legacy is always such a fun thing to hear about because it really does depend on how you feel using them. I use Legacy because running towards the screen is something I do often. I want to be able to use WASD to move the same speed no matter which button I press. I don't use strafe buttons. I am constantly moving my camera around in Legacy, and I have the right mouse button held down almost all the time.
When I started playing GW2, I got annoyed that I couldn't just run towards the screen. At least GW2 has a dodge I can do backwards and that helps.
I think due to my ffxi upbringing (you don't use your mouse ever in that game) and playing this for 10 years, my control scheme (keybinds) are mostly keyboard only so legacy is fine for me but you do raise interesting points for standard for you π
This makes me wanna give standard a chance again… though, as a caster I guess I cant do either… Then again, I'm a SMN, so I might have an advantage here π

You are pretty near freedom in legacy mode as well, but only at the 8 basic directions angle (and as long as you have sensible keybinds – wasd is not sensible btw.).
Backpedalling is a complete catastrophe for me – so both standard mode and backward-diagonal strafes in legacy mode.
You CAN do in legacy mode what you showed around 5:00 – press backward + lmb + rmb in legacy mode for that (+again – reminder that wasd is crap).
