lol been there for that "what" moment. So How the servers work, the game screenshots your position, and even if the animation misses you, you're still getting hit if you were in the wrong place at time of said screenshot.
It also works in reverse. Meaning you can stand in explosions so long as you weren't in the marked area before it went away.
