After a long break from doing duels, I got the itch to start doing them again (mainly for relic reasons). Finally got BLM down on Lyon! I don’t remember how many attempts it took me because I took a hiatus from duels XD. Let’s guess…10~?
*The Fight*
Lyon is tricky because cooldowns just don’t line up properly. Not to mention dealing with exaflares is very tough because I feel you have to do it just right and you might make it, haha.
I tried my best to hold sprint for when it did exaflare into taste of blood combo. Sprint would be nice for Splitting Rage (misdirection), but I found sprint would not be back up during the next set of exaflare into taste of blood, and I felt you had to run the risk of diving down the middle of all the exaflares to get him in a good position. On my run, as I was in the middle, and he was favoring one side of the arena, he would jump across…allowing me to sprint to his new location and avoid Taste of Blood.
Rest of the fight was not bad at all. I tried getting Triple Cast used on any big movement such as Dynastic Flames or Exaflares.
This clear is on Primal. On Aether, I have Bozja Haste gear, but on Primal I do not, and man there is a BIG difference, haha. But with no deaths, it’s a clean fight. A few of my attempts if I died twice you will hit enrage unless you brought in some DPS actions to push more damage.
*My Build*
Essence of the Beast for heals with damage.
Protect/Shell/Bravery, then Manawall check, then Dispel. You need Dispel at the start of this fight to remove his En-Drain buff, or you’re as good as dead.. I had Banner of Noble Ends that I swapped in after I used Manawall, but you can replace it the moment you use Dispel.
Good luck if you choose to do BLM! It’s tough for sure, but I like this job a lot o/.
