Today I’m here to teach you all about Adhoc Samurai in Dawntrail! This wasn’t really a thing in Dawntrail until 7.01, because Samurai naturally had no filler until the 7.01 Tendo GCD recast change. Now that the standard loop uses filler again, it means you can make a case for playing an “Adhoc” style to cut out that filler!
BE WARNED: This is a very advanced playstyle for the Samurai job, and I strongly recommend that beginner/intermediate Samurais start with my Standard Patch 7.01 Samurai Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDONBLR67r0 That style is much easier to understand and play, and can easily get you all the way to the top 1% of Samurai performance. The adhoc style only really makes sense for those Samurai attempting to get rank #1 worldwide FFlogs, or attempt speedkills, or squeeze every ounce of potency out of their job.
If you want to see this style of Samurai demonstrated LIVE, come by my twitch channel at: https://www.twitch.tv/fahros There you can watch, ask questions live, and hang out to discuss Samurai strategies together with us. I’m currently streaming fulltime and live every morning and afternoon Monday-Friday, and occasionally I do some bonus streams on the weekends and evenings. I will be playing around the clock once this Savage tier drops, and raiding through the PF! I hope to see you there! Any views/shares/comments/subs help so much guys. I have been putting everything I have into full time content creation again, and your support means so much.

i dont get it 🙁 is it possible a video jsut with the rotation ?
When you thought you've already mastered the blade there's always more…..
Nvm I was already doing this lmao
what is that Armor set? 😮
Would be awesome to find out who the first Samurai to perfect Adhoc was. Could call it "The (player's name) Style" instead.
Honestly, I didn't even know that SAM had a standard loop, I thought it was intuitive enough to be played flexible like this to begin with.
these names getting wild ! when's wifi samurai guide using only enpis ? 😂
LETS GOOOOO
Nice, thanks for including all the resources. Been meaning to try more ad hoc and this is a great place to start
Every time i watched samurai guides, I always felt like I didn't jive with it.
Now, this drops, and I am curious…. and this is just what I have been doing 😂
Its funny because i used samurai like this before then i looked at guides and thought i was wrong…guess i wasnt
Whats really funny about this, is despite some changes we've gotten since.. this is how i played Stormblood Samurai lol
I already figured that Meiyko was better used on Gekko and Kasha, and just tried my best to use it on those, and manual do Yukikaze.
I think part of my falling out on SAM was the "filler" playstyle, but seeing this takes me back home.
Beautiful lol! I got to get to practicing again This is insane! Please find one for Ninja samurai Ninja has always been my favorite job classes in the final Fantasy universe.
Adhoc rotation is essentially an attempt to turn samurai into monk…
doen't everyone get chosen for the throw mechanic?
I noticed that in your dummy fflog, the 6 minute Higanbana gets used at 6:12.177 and 7 minute Higanbana gets used at 7:07.929. Does that mean we are losing 1 (pot + buff) tick? Is it better to use Gekko/Kasha for the 7 minute Higanbana (so you get to delay 1 gcd)?
