looks pretty decent, all this game really needs is better lighting and better textures and it'll be fine.

I like how the Lalafell are starting to look a little less childish and more magical (goblin + hobbit) looking.
Yoshi said this is just WIP and we should expect it to look even better once released.

I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed by this initial look. Of course, not being the final result, I'm not that worried…yet. You're totally right in Au'Ra being the clear winners so far. Overall, it's still a welcome improvement. I wonder though, is female Hrothgar still on the table? We haven't heard any updates about them since they were postponed to sometime in Endwalker, and they've been unusually quiet about it.
Also, I really, really REALLY hope that some better anti-aliasing solutions will be available. FFXA is garbage, basically a Vaseline filter, and does little to nothing for most edges, especially in motion. In general, the game has a really big problem with aliasing, and I don't have a good enough PC to be satisfied with running it in 4k (downscaled).
This is the more important graphical change for me, above textures and everything. If the look is choppy and edges have a jagged look, new lighting and textures do very little to improve the overall image.
Those eye features sure make huge difference make it look less anime-ish from my PoV. 👍
Also people lower your expectations a bit from heaven-on-high to realistic, holy Lord 😨

Honestly the only thing i'm scared for is mods. I hear this graphic update will break stuff.
Of course, that's not a complaint or anything.. I dont think we who use mods have too much room to complain. :^ But there are things here and there that helped me enjoy the game more. Like the DMC animation mods, or swapping certain idles and emotes… it's fun stuff 😛 we'll see though. Looking forward to the glowups overall
