  1. Hey, just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS (P8S was harder in August)) on the ABYSSOS: THE EIGTH CIRCLE (SAVAGE) (it's the easy one) CLEAR. I know you've been working really hard (it was harder in August) at it, and I'm happy that you've (P8S was harder in August) achieved your goal

  2. Kinda sad about the nerf to p8s. After week 1 there is no more dps check in the game. still unsure why they nerfed it. If groups were able to kill it with crafted gear and 1 tome gear, then there is no reason why people can’t kill it with 2 tome gears and 2 weeks of raid gear. Especially now we are at 3 weeks, Anyway anyone who clears p8s now after today is invalidated but congratz.

  3. alright MCH no longer exist in the game

at this point just delete MCH, it is good the dev plays the game but please play the job that is considered underrated literally MCH our own DPS is pretty much grieving the whole party so what is the point of our purpose in the game ?????

  4. From what I understand, most of the balance changes are expected to happen in the 6.25 patch. I think it's actually more of a surprise that they buffed the tanks ahead of the other changes, rather than wondering why they just tuned the tanks this time.

Also, they've already removed players from the internal raid team in the past who were doing too well, in order to try and line things up better with community ability/expectations. This is just the first time in a while things ended up being this tight.

  5. I love the fact that the longer the game goes, the more frantic the complaints become. I think players are fantastic at finding problems with existing systems. I’m just not so sure about their ability to produce a solution that doesn’t ultimately make things worse for somebody else.

  6. I swear, this bandage/panic patch….you'd think 'job balance' only applies to tanks/melee only.

Or whoever put out the most recent vid complaining/crying/ranting/bitching about how there fav role is struggling with the current isolated hard piece of content.

Buffing War/Pld (tanks)…..for damage, but not the jobs on the low end that actually classify as dps/damage dealers like Mch, Smn, Rdm, etc. is ass backwards.

  7. Hilarious that it basically says “We were so good, we overdid it. Our bad.” I don’t like tanking but I appreciate my pld getting a potency buff. It’s very boring for me to tank.

On a more serious note, glad they acknowledged this. I don’t personally raid because there are people with “preferred” jobs and thankfully my fc plays however they want. I saw a tweet of someone quitting raiding because some loser actually screamed at for not getting tome gear. The video attached actually made me want to cry and furious. It’s a game. It’s supposed to be fun. All jobs should be viable even if the content is difficult. Otherwise, try hards and bad apples will kill the content because no one wants to deal with that bull.

  8. If you Check aDPS in fflogs rankings you'll see that dps jobs are somewhat balanced, which is a huge mistake on SE part, specially once ppl get more ilvl, the gap will increase even further

  9. Where the hell are ranged/caster changes. They will use this as an excuse to not work on balance at all. Paladin explanation is “ranged tax is too high” and they did nothing for any ranged job.

  10. Idk it always has a bitter connotation when i hear ppl trying to min max based on class because at the end of the day id rather have a peak player mch than a floor tank rpr

  11. i think Western players largely overreact when it comes to game balance, looking exclusively at the some 3% difference between job DPS and parading it around like it's this big problem, as we've always been obsessed with "what's best" not so much with "what we like" (this is the reason PSO2 banned outside IPs for a long time)

anyway, i think Yoshi-P and team understand this, so they're going to continue balancing how they should. some jobs like machinist do need a bit of love, but the game overall is incredibly well balanced

    moaners are gonna moan

  12. We're supposed to forsake things like dps meters but then something like this happens. I fail to see by the logic of dps shouldn't matter why they keep dps checks in at all. I personally like having that information, seeing how I am preforming in real time and seeing what I can do to adjust and improve. Like why are we using sites like FF logs to gather information and relay it to SE if all this side and idea of the game is *bad*. I just wish they would commit to either letting it be a mmo with dps checks and things like DPS matters, or it doesn't. I feel like it's left me in limbo and it makes content become a jaded thing for me.

  13. It sounds like the testing team has a specific comp they favor, leading to things like under-testing for classes like mch, pld and war, which the players pick up. Likely related to a small test team. They should make sure to test a clear or 10 with a sub optimal comp and have it tuned to that. If they find a comp that can't clear, it means buffs are needed. Bit that would also take more time and money for testing, which is likely why it's not already happening. Hopefully this incident clues them into the issue, what ever it may be, so it can be fixed moving forward.

  14. It's ultimately futile to rely on FFlogs for early savage data between DPS jobs. The vast, vast majority of melee DPS are being funneled gear by their statics, which leads to a greater disparity between them and ranged jobs, especially when they have the 630 weapon and are contending with 610 weapons.

Does the gap exist? Yes, absolutely, and it will become more apparent over time. However, at this time the data will show it to appear much worse than it actually is, and I expect Square know this. It's more important to have a clearer picture before messing with the DPS and risking overtuning something else.

Now when it comes to tanks, who are at the bottom of the gear totem pole, it is much more obvious. Gaps between PLD and DRK were as high as 17% on some sections, which is absurd. Tanks deserved the emergency fix.

  15. SE is not that concerned with the DPS balance of healers. They have constantly stated that they do not account for healer dps when tuning raid and trial fights. Of course, if a healer doesn’t dps, a group is likely to hit the enrage, so I do wonder how they can make that statement with a straight face…. Or is it because the testing team is too good…..

  16. dev team spent so much time in p8s (more than they usually would) on balancing the fight for mechanics, jobs etc. (more jobs than ever), that they naturally got too gud for the fight
(same thing probably happened to the last Ultimate, but since it's an Ultimate, the play it and the gap difference wasn't as noticeable)

  17. I was watching Echo prog P8S and I said that they will probably nerf boss hp and answers I got were "There is no way they are gonna nerf bosses, this isn't wow."

    Welp

  18. imo, mch damage is not that bad, especially if in a party that has buffers., this list doesn't represent mch well

(i hear mch cry when they look at these lists or run specific comps.., it depends on the party, in a party with rpr, blm & sam, the mch will actually be lowish,..
.. but mch will excell more than others, in parties like nin, mnk & smn, .. mch live off gud burst windows, more than other jobs .., if the party knows how to time the buffs)

  19. Their testing team isn't actually good, certainly not better than top raiders that struggled with the DPS check due to poor team composition. The issue wasn't skill, it was them completely botching job balance and still struggling to fix it. They should be more transparent and let people know that they did not test the fight with multiple team compositions. They likely tested it once or twice with jobs that are fine in terms of balance and called it a day. They keep adding more jobs but cannot even fix what we already have. No Mercy still doesn't fit in a full opener, MCH is still shit, etc. It's annoying that they would even dare say their team was too good, lol. Right. Fix the damn jobs.
