  1. Just a waste of time griding old content for a mount really? FF14 really needs something different other than dungeons for leveling up, Gil is another thing other then pentamelding gear. Just a waste since bis is from savage.

  2. I still want them to combine Trust characters with the characters we could bring with us that belonged to our Grand Company (I forget the proper names, I haven't played in a year.) Those companions that we could customize are still sitting there without any use. And bringing them around with us doesn't break the lore at all.

I know the two mechanics are somewhat different… but keeping them all separate doesn't help the case of either.

  3. Just finished Heavensward tonight so I’m not sure what extras await in storm and shadow but, I am really loving the world of FF14, and the areas. I’d love every map to have a ‘hard mode’ where it’s super high lv mobs running around that can very well actually kill you, with random loot chests spawning all over the map. Give me a reason to explore the map, all the nooks and corners. Make me feel like I’m an actual adventurer going for loot lol

Stuff it, make it an instanced map mode that scales with the amount in your party. Head into a full area map at random, with chests and bosses everywhere and the further you get, the higher rarity loot can be found. Make it random, make us choose which of these 4 random bosses on this map I wanna tackle first, knowing each one beaten makes the next harder. Make it so if you wipe you lose all treasure gotten, a risk reward system. Make some of the chests on the map gives us buffs for the next fight or fights.

Ok, probably not entirely plausible but hey I can dream lol

  4. Hear me out: Hamlet Defense is coming back on the way to 6.0. Certain new MSQ objects in the world = Lunar Cry trigger = Moon changes and that's why we have the easy crafter and gatherer leveling because that's the build up phase, then there's the attack phase like 12 hours later when the monsters drop from the moon. FATE events all of them, of various level ranges in their respective world zones (or at least level 80 or higher zones, which again explains the easy leveling). Think about it.

  5. There was a system that I think people would love that came from FFXI. You gained points by taking pictures, and used the points to get items to pop NMs, then those NM had a chance to drop an item to help pop a higher tier NM.

  6. YES OUTDOOR CONTENT! This is the concept that made MMORPGs a genre that has been vanishing to promote "instant gratification" Sorry but this is the truth. WoW and has world quest, only reason you see people. FF14 barely got anything, everything is instanced! However it is terrible for creating players interactions. Make the world alive, there's not only hunts, people been botting hunts since 2.0 and that is so lame, because now SE nerfed them all! It used to be main method to get Materias, no you get Materias left and right.

More unique drop is what is needed. People crave Glamour anyways, make it happen. Less of them on Mog Station or only crafting. Fighting should means more then doing Savage / Ultimate, gives more reason to obtain gear. 100% behind open world. Not sure about trust but hey why not, as long they not as good as being part of a party of players.

  7. The Free company system that you described sounds a lot like the Galaxy Conquest system from Star Wars the old Republic, a system in which guilds would compete over control over certain planets/zones by having the individual player complete a set amount of one time or repeatable objectives, depending on which week and which planet that was being contested. You could only contest for control over one planet each week, controlling it gave you an achievement with a title "Conqueror of X planet" along with I believe bonuses to your flagship as long as it was stationed over that planet, as well as bragging rights for potentionally beating one of the larger guilds out there – guild advertisement was also tied into this as a lot of people would see your guild on the leaderboard.

    The objectives ranged from;

    – Defeat X boss in Y fight ( Usually one time only but there could be several similar objectives )
    – Craft X amount of Y material ( Usually one version with a one time use that yielded a large amount of points and a version which yielded less points but was repeatable, similar to how the Ishgard Restoration is aka "Craft a bunch of one item to turn in for a bunch of points)
    – Defeat enemy NPC outposts on the specific planet you are contesting
    – Win X matches in PvP
    – Etc

Now each individual player only had to go up to their weekly "point cap" of 20k in order to get their personal rewards that consisted of rare crafting materials for end game gear etc, but could always if they wanted to, go above their cap in order to collect more points for the guild conquest as a whole for better rewards. Large guilds obviously had it easier to amass all these points and win out each week, but it was not entirely unheard of for only a couple players in a small guild to have stored away loads of crafting materials to just carry the guild to the top.

This system, which I most likely have forgotten quite a lot about since I haven't played for years, was very fun if albeit sometimes a bit de moralizing due to mostly losing to the bigger guilds (as they had no diminishing point system, so they could win every week). It gave the entire guild something to strive for, something to talk about and something to do togheter that ultimately led to an end goal that wasn't always completely out of reach.

I had not thought about such a system in FFXIV but now I am kinda rooting for this to be a thing in the future.

  8. Too focused in mounts that look ridiculous and flashy non canon and grindy things that are not fun i say bring new mechanics and systems , i would love to have a boat, like build one and Fish in it and explore would be great.

  9. Open world. So how about something similar to besieged. I’d love having a reason to do fates and protecting encampments.

We are mid war. Give us a reason to do fates protect areas. Guard npcs else they get kidnapped and we’d have to go on a rescue mission.

  10. I don't think anything will be new for open world. It will be exactly the same what we had for the past 2+ expansions. However we might see the servers be more connected with each other. Being able to jump into any field zone on any server on the fly for example and have the all the market board/retainers being linked on one data network so players can view all the buyable items from all the servers at once.

  11. Battle leves will never be a thing again cus dungeon and fate exp has replaced them. The only way they could be a thing if they reward some new type of currency. Also if they did rerelease this system. They wouldn't cost any leve credits to activate and it would be some sorta endgame open world content if anything like treasure maps.

  12. I think the leve idea is interesting – however as someone who continually uses all her leves crafting for money making (lvl78 coffee biscuits cul) if they did do something like this I hope they would give us separate leves for battle and crafting/gathering to keep the new battle content from interfering with the gillionare grind. But yeah this would be cool!

  13. Hey guys I dropped in and out of final fantasy 14 love the game and I just recently found your guys's channel. One of my favorite parts about final fantasy XIV is the mini games. I love trying to breed a race chocobo or playing cards while I'm waiting to queue up I just think it's a lot of fun. What kind of additional mini games would you be interested in seeing them bring to the game is that a curiosity

  14. What we NEED is more character customization options. Much more. And Elezen needs a total overhaul. But if they just added an option for small elf ears to Hyur I’d be happy. I just want a good-looking elf that doesn’t run like he has just endured lower back surgery. FFS.

  15. I would like open world arena (Chris, i dont know if you remember them arena from wow where people go in Stranglethorn Vale and every can fight each other) i would like that in garlenmald (i assuming we're going there and usually they're all about fighting so would fit in the theme) basically an open world pvp area

  16. this game needs to learn from GW2 open world content… i like this game but it encourages solo play too much.. in other games people naturally group up to do open world stuff.. FF14 is antisocial besides instanced or sitting around in limsa… i know this would never happen but flag open world pvp
