Combat doesn’t work but this video was requested so I did the best I could to show off what is available. Switching classes didn’t work right either so I had to make 7 different characters to get all of this recorded.

How do you play this older version?
I keep getting “that command can only be performed in active mode” am I not doing something correct when I’m trying to fight I know not sure why my character was not bring up their weapon
I just love the old visual and audio effects. They had so much weight and punch to them. I wish they were here in current FFXIV…
man I'd really kill to have 14-1 still playable in some form. it's a shame there's no real dedicated private server project like DarkStar was for ff11. I can hope…

huh, so they really did just try to make "ff11 but newer". I've only ever got to lv30+ MRD and PGL. had fun with the mining/gathering minigames, but yea this is very unique compared to any other MMO. Unique as in not bad, but not actually good. I just miss swappable belt tbh. the glam you can pull off with swappable belts…….what a waste.

Wait, i know they didn't have jumping before yoshi-p came but the only goddamn jump they had in 1.0 for dragoon is that tiny ass hop for one skill? FOR DRAGOON???
Are there groups that are working on a public private server for 14?
The individual attack animations are more elaborate than they are in modern FFXIV, but with how much slower they are it would make things like weaving impossible (or at least impractical). They look "better", sure, but at the same time they make the battles feel a lot less dynamic.
I've heard about how 1.0 prioritized graphics over everything else, which is one of the big reasons why it failed, and it seems like this combat is a good example of this.

@darkfuseion Hey, I've set up the server and able to run around, but when i spawn an enemy I can only auto-attack it and can't use any hotbar skills or weapon skills. Is there something extra need to do to get them working? I've used !setmaxhp 9999 aswell. Cheers
