  1. Remember when Answers was the bahamut song? Well not anymore.
I was reading comments and I can't say the lines of Emet or Hythlo hit me cause it's obvious that ShB was done with Endwalker in mind (I love Ishikawa), but all those call back to things that happened in ARR? HW? Is obvious they didn't plan that from back then, specially ARR (like they never planned to have Graha in ShB but it just made sense with what they had in mind). In the last trial when you see the scions praying and watching Thancred and Ysthola put a tear in my eye… Thing that I couldn't believe since the walk destroy my eyes.
    Such a good game…

  2. I found it interesting that Meteion wanted to "Hear our words, know our feelings and share our thoughts". It linked us to Hydaelyn's "Hear, Feel, Think…" marvellously. The writing is phenomenal and I cannot say it enough times.

  3. Another great throwback that a lot missed was when you meet Meteion. She greets you with, "I would like to HEAR your words. Know your FEELings. And share your thoughts (THINK). The same 3 words that have echoed through our journey since the beginning. HEAR, FEEL, THINK.

  4. There's a side quest in Sharlayan that you can pick up in the restaurant area and you deliver sandwiches. One of the sandwiches you deliver to (though not explicitly stated) Papalymo's father. That was a cool little Easter egg quest.

Some of the sidequests in Elpis, you basically become the creator of your own "problems" in previous expansions. Like giving advice on how to improve Behemoth.

  5. it feels very weird watching your videos with themes like this. It's like i'm watching an alcoholic who has now gone a decade or more sober, showing how his life has improved. I think this is why I keep watching your videos – the feeling of excitement at sharing things you have found/noticed in the game really radiates through the screen.
I'm really glad you are having fun 🙂

  6. Oh boy Quazii… you are now officially a ff14 fan now, 😆 would you imagine yourself being like this when you picked the game up last year? Welcome aboard!

But ff14 is indeed a special piece of video game; it is not perfect and may not be a very good mmorpg but as a JRPG, it is one heck of storytelling and 6.0 was indeed a very good wrap up to the journey we the players have travelled on.

I haven’t seen a lot of people mention the scene on the temple with the refugees when their village got hit. I played in Japanese and oh boy that part where they recited the gods’ teachings hit me hard. I’ll wait until new game + hits and change the language and see how it was like in English.

  7. A couple other cool things: the scene where the primal spawn to help power Ragnarak is a direct call back to the ending of the 1.0 trailer. They even show up in the same poses.

Also, Meteion saying "It's wrong. All wrong!" was first referenced in some throwaway Morse code in the Crystal Tower that repeated "It's all wrong!"

  8. I really like the throwbacks they made for wow like 9.2 is been building up since WC3 and i was like WOAH! then after playing that mess of reforged i was like "damn they got me with the old 'made you look' gag"

  9. The FFXIV UI is excellent – why are old WoW streamers complaining that it sucks? (can't imagine ¬_¬''')
The story is very clearly about mercy and dimplomacy – yet so many of these same streamers yell the house down when we don't kill the "bad" guy…

I'm really REALLY concerned that these people, with huge numbers of followers, will rally opinions against the very wholesome and well made game FFXIV is.
Perhaps it's THEIR rather toxic attitude that led WoW down that long winding path to apathy and animocity…

They are complaining about very obviously great things simply to have attention through outrage.
    It gets them eyes.
In DOING this they negatively effect the game long term.

Please, Quazzi, do continue to cultivate this embrace of warmth and possitivity towards FFXIV – Please make counters to these empty claims so that the community doesn't call for really bad changes.

  10. Everything in Endwalker is a loving tribute to FF14

The zones, Old Shalaryan has deep connect to Louisoix (ARR lore). then to Radz at Han, a place (secretly) leads by First Brood which connected to Heavensward. Then Garlemald where you know the tale of those nation you fight against so hard in Stormblood. Then surpise ! we're not end with Shadowbringers yet that we go back to Elidibus and dive into the timeline of the Ancients to know more about them (Elpis). Ultima Thule reveals the last piece of mystery we barely know about dragon star and Omega origin.

Music, what else to say ? Endsinger aka. final battle contained EVERY end boss fight of each expansion (x.3 excluded tho). you have Shinryuu (4.0 boss) at the start, transition into Ultima weapon (2.0 boss) into Knights of Round (3.0 boss) and then Hades (5.0 boss). Answer which now given new meaning. a sequence of Song of Hope vs. Song of Despair moment.

NPCs, needless to say as well as most of them since ARR (if not all) are here to see you. hell, even from those normal and alliance raids you've done… some may not appear in MSQ but they're in role quests and side quests. even minor NPC such as Papalymo's parent is there.

Remenesence of many scenes (especially ARR) throughout Endwalker as mentioned in your videos. including primal summon by mother crystal (true primal without ascian bad formula in summoning) using the same scene of 1.0 cinematic where Midgardsommr fight Agrias battleship (the clash of the fight produced enough aether to make primal able to manifest). Alphinaud "Engage" annouce scene on Ragnarok should bring back nostalgia for those WoL who let him do the same on Cid's Enterprise in ARR…

and that are just some examples. there are many more stuff that I might missed out and have to go through story again to get them all… oh well, Inn awaits me.

  11. As someone who has always played MMOs for the endgame, I never got into the story in FF, so I skipped everything back in Heavensward(yup, yikes). I eventually played through the entire story when some friends started new characters on a different server, and I realized I missed out. You would think that they couldn't possibly top Shadowbringers, but man, Endwalker is even better.

  12. Personally, i loved how all the characters you know throughout the game including MSQ, job quests, raids, trials, Bozja, Eureka, etc appear in some form it felt so fukin good🥺

  13. I've played FF14 on and off since 2016 after we left SWTOR and EW finally cemented it as my favorite MMO ever, finally kicking City of Heroes off that position for me. There are so many moments in the game, but especially in EW, where they tie up so many plot lines, it's difficult to pick which moments hit the hardest.

I love how in ShB they sowed some seeds of doubt about Hydaelyn, but as it's Emet giving us so much info, and he's tempered and has the agenda he has, we're never sure. Finding out that she and Zodiark were primals was certainly interesting, but EW removed those doubts even before we met Venat back in Elpis; if she were truly evil or uncaring, she would have been so concerned for Krile, so I was glad I never chose the less friendly dialog options with her.

How they made this all work and make sense is amazing to behold. Most teams would have come off like WoW is now; ham-fisted and laughably bad, but it's just so good here!

  14. Thou must live, die, and know has got to be my favorite scene in this game. It is so well done. It made me bawl like a baby…it was really powerful, beautiful and sad at the same time. Another amazing part of the game is your fight with Venat and the remix of Flow playing in the background. That was so cool. Venat is definitely up there as one of my favorite characters in the game along side Emet and Hythlodaeus… seeing them go was really hard. I know Emet wants to rest but maybe somewhere down the line, he'll be forced to come back with Hythodaeus… probably reincarnated or something?

  15. I love the fact that they took every opportunity to sprinkle in lyrics of Answers in Venat's dialogues. Every time she did so, I had a moment of "Oh!", and it made everything she said that much more impactful.

  16. The ending scene with Ragnarok slowly flying over every area we've visited was top Final Fantasy moment for me. It can't go back to its roots more than that.
Endwalker feels like a love letter to both 14's history and the whole franchise of Final Fantasy, it's hard to pinpoint one moment to love.

  17. When Alisae and Alphinaud confront Meteion in Ultima Thule it is the trials of the Binding Coils (music included) that they use to fuel their emotion towards Meteion and overcome her despair.

  18. Honestly, Answer has to be my favorite thing that Endwalker brought into light. Of how it was foreshadowing events all those years ago. It’s the sort of writing I adore, place the solution to the over all problem right in front of the reader’s nose.

  19. I don't have a throwback. Mine was when Zenos and I lay there dying. I was thinking back over this journey with the memories flashing on the screen, saying to myself, no no no… Zenos asks, "Was this life a gift or a burden? Did you find fulfillment? " I am in my 70's so perhaps this struck me much harder than someone much younger than I am. As I sit in the evening of my life, those words have profound meaning. Therein lies the gift of this story. To affect those from all walks of life, to transcend the barriers we erect for religion, wealth, race, etc. Because all of us will one day sit in the twilight of our life and ask was this life a gift or a burden, did we find fulfillment? As a child of WWII, it was impossible for me not to cry when I saw Garlemald and heard the scratchy old radio. I had seen and heard that before in the deaths of thousands in France. All of this, all of this story was amazing to play, an emotional rollercoaster and along the way, I met new friends and companions that warm this evening of my life.

  20. The more I look at it, the more masterful it all seems. Even down to picking Sam Carter from Architects to be the voice of this expac's song. The band also suffered loss from cancer, and lyrics from their side such as "Hope is a prison."(Gone with the Wind) really carry over in to here as well. It's almost like the theme/expansion itself was a battle against cancer. The malformed beasts with names like Terminus _ and so on, even resemble horrific tumor like creatures. Just a theory. Love your videos

  21. Endwalker is an ode to the final fantasy franchise, it touches the same themes, same musical score, same tropes, executed masterfully, reinvigorating a long decaying series of games that I honestly thought had seen it's golden days past and over….. but alas! the golden days are NOW! we are living them, this is peak Final Fantasy. Thank you Creative Business Unit 3, thank you Yoshi-P & Co. Thank you SE for letting them create as they do. Thank you everyone that plays the game and had made this journey possible. Just thanks everyone!!!!!!

  22. Well…
I'm going to be brutally honest, here. I liked endwalker, but honestly…. I liked shadowbringers more.
At this point, that may seem like heresy despite shadowbringers being lauded as the best expansion before endwalker launched.
I just felt like ShB had better music overall, more compelling story, fresh locales, La Hee, more compelling bad guys. Even the dungeons were.. well.. more original, for lack of a better word. The only msq dungeon i loved was Ktisis. The rest were fine, very good even. But I didn't love them.
And the prayer thing in the last battle.. I saw it coming, as it's a very common JRPG trope. I wanted to be touched emotionally so bad, but since i saw it coming it fell a bit flat.
    Maybe i'm just jaded.

  23. When I heard Answers for the first time it was during the final days of 1.0 and it appeared as a haunting melody in the game zones. We eventually heard the full version after the 1.0 servers shut down and the cinematic of the battle on Carteneau Flats was released. At the time, we didn't have the full ARR trailer and the cinematic ended as the screen faded to white so we didn't know what kind of world to expect on the other end and hoped YoshiP and his team would be able to make something of the world we grew to love even in its broken state. I always teared up when I heard the song before as to me it represented the struggle of both our character the WOL and as the player in 1.0, and completely surprised when it suddenly took on a whole new meaning in Endwalker.

  24. I loved when Alphinaud did his version of the Lousoix barrier when he was protecting Urianger(I think?) when they were facing Meteion. Maybe one day it means he will call upon a similar level of Lousoix's barrier.

  25. All i can say is… I'm lost for words…. It's just that good, man. Seriously, I thought Witcher got a very good story, but finishing HW, SB, ShB… and eventually EW MSQ…. it's just… wow. So amazing…. even that is an understatement. I didn't even cry as much watching 1 liter of Tears compared to going through ShB and EW…
