Honestly, when I put in my jab, I didn't expect you to actually do it. I merely though "eh, there's a chance." "I have no idea who you are" kinda cemented that. I further didn't expect you to agree with me on personal or objective level. On any level.
I wanna further emphasize: This isn't about saying EW is fine because HW was bad. It's that if you want to call it "the worst," this is your competition. Every bad thing about EW, you have to also consider HW nearly killing the game before we could get this far.
To be clear, I 100% agree that there's a lack of rewards. I got all 17 ShB relics on content because I really liked Bozja, so I want that content back. Other thoughts on what EW did wrong – including some comments we get in the rest of this video. We aren't paying to play mid expansions. I agree 100%. No question. We deserve as best as they can do. But I agree that a HW2 would just kill the game, full stop. And we get there by blindly claiming EW is this super bad, no upside experience. It's not about that HW is bad in the lens of HW. It's that HW is bad in the lens of HW. We didn't like this stuff 8 years ago either.

I started in shadowbringers and seeing it now is bad imo. Game is still good but ShB was much better plus the wow exodus boosted the player base for the last leg of the expansion. And all gamers like BIG NUMBERS
The biggest thing I have with endwalker is post patch story, player retention, and the reward system. I have some gripes of the actual 6.0 story but it's mild compared to what is happening now. Am I still working on content? Yes. Can I still be disappointed? Also yes.
bro the Faust prog parties were so fucking real. I remember that shit like it was yesterday, if you had a garbage group, but were still able to get past Faust, then you had so little time to prog P1, and if you didn't clear? you had to reprog Faust
I wish people would have had this energy regarding field operation content in Stormblood and Shadowbringers because a certain part in the community did their best to constantly hate on it. Please don't let the same thing happen with variant and criterion dungeons.
I'm one of those people, I hated bozja and eureka. I always came out of them miserable and feeling like I wasted my time.They're just glorified fate farming zones with mild boomer mmo nonsense in them. Completely overated.
The downfall of ffxiv is a myth.
I have stopped playing it, but I will resub when the new relic patch hits to get my bis for next expansion. Then I will probably stop again until next expansion comes out, but I will be back again when that hits just like most other ffxiv players who have been playing the game since heavensward or earlier. Yoshida said himself, people should play other games while they wait for content drops. He doesn't want people literally no-lifing his game, that is one of the things that makes ffxiv one of the greatest mmo's out there imo. Doesn't require you to invest your life and soul into the game to get anything done, you can just enjoy the story, do some endgame content and then take a break. I honestly think that is one of the reasons the game is so successful, the accessbility it has is second to no other mmo. I could not play for 2 expansions and come back, do the story for those 2 expansions plus new expansion and I would be done in a matter of a few weeks and then its just a stones throw away from catching up in gear to be able to do the new endgame content. Can even just buy crafted gear off the market if you want to be lazy
I disagree that this expansion was fine, I found the endgame was pretty unimpressive in its content. The raiding was fantastic sure, but outside of raiding there wasn't that much to do that felt fun compared to previous expansions. Deep dungeon was ok but I dont think it was difficult enough, relic content is barely even content its just a talking quest that most people skip and then grind tomes XD and thats pretty much it outside of unreal fights and the typical extreme mount farms we get every expansion. I think one of the main things missing this expansion was an exploration zone like eurekabozja, they need to rectify that in next expansion. Exploration zones made the game feel more alive, seeing hundreds of players fighting a boss with you and stuff ironically makes it feel more open world than the actual real open world of the game. Plus I love the goofy approach these exploration zones tend to have, with goofy logos actions that make everyone OP, its just light-hearted fun and I miss it. I really hope they do another exploration zone, or alternatively some content to do in the real open world with other players (hunts don't count, honestly I hate hunts coz usually its just a big cesspool of early pulling drama and people crying). Will be disappointed if they don't.

Idk, HW is amazing. Nowadays. As a part of the current modern FF XIV.
EW is amazing as continuation and it's release pretty much one of the best expacs relative to the releases of others.
Does it mean it is perfect? Nope. Obviously there's enough problems or weak points, some even quite old at this point. And it is a good thing to point them out and try to make devs hear and notice both – those problems and displeasure of players with them. Without going overboard or act like stupid angry monkey spitting venom (even death threats for fucks sake).
Again, it is okay and even good to talk about the problems of the expac. But to bash it like that? Claming it is the worst and all that? This is beyond dumb
Raiding in HW was definitely bad, I remember people not even wanting to do normal mode but I did get normal done of course. Savage didn't get done for me until after HW.
I personally feel like there's a connection to be drawn between the Dead Ends having the bit about the civilization that solved everything all handy dandy and then killed themselves because they found no more meaning in a struggleless life, and the forward march of quality of life and redesigning in a game. You can't look at several individual mechanics from the HW days without remembering bad times but it was also those bad times and working around them that made it so memorable to many. And a chief complaint of many EW is jobs all feeling like they're losing their depth…
I agree that HW is the worse. SB was the best but only because it fixed a lot of HW issues, except raiding. I think technically HW finally found the right balance with Creator but the raid scene was pretty much dead. SB really just picked up where HW left off without needing to fix much. I do give a bit more credit to HW because I haven't liked a series of Trials since Thordan and the Warring Triad. remove Bismark and I would say they all were perfect.

Hottake: I LOVED Heavenward because of the more complex job design and the fact that it actively punished bad players.
Matter of fact, I don't think I'd ever gotten more praise than I did then for my performance as a DRG.
SB was the beginning of them killing job design through homogenization. (Except AST I think that was actually the best iteration of that job)
They butchered DRK, and changed DRG from being the slow but methodical burst DPS into the spamfest it has become today.
One of the main reasons I played DRG was because it was more tactical, which yes made it more demanding in terms of lining up buffs, but it was also a lot easier to actually focus on the fights because I didn't need 500+ APM to play the job.
Not everything in that era worked out, but I still think it was great that they were at least trying new things and attempting to add more depth to the combat – depth that was lost in the transition from 1.0
I'm hoping the 7.0 rework will make things at least a little better but not holding my breath. Man sometimes I really wish they'd just put Matsui in charge :/
I know im alone in this thought but…..I would love for the devs to ilvl lock the maps and content to what they originally were. I mean no actual way to beat the ilvl with higher gear. its literally capped to the expansions highest ilvl. The difficulty of the content for each expac and base set to what they originally were. why…cause i wanna see people do actual work in the game rather then sail on thru

the streamer's opinion on the game is law. all criticisms of the game are fake news. only listen to bald man
