Echoes of A Fallen Star | Patch 5.2 | FFXIV: Shadowbringers

Here it is!

My apologies for not uploading sooner– I’ve had some stomach issues to where I started feeling discomfort so editing took longer than expected this week.
But I’m fine now lol.

This is very long LMAO

I wanted to make sure everything is in the video while making it concise as I can, but it still ended up being 3 hours oh god.. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Please look forward to the first part of the Werlyt Questline, since in this video, there was actually a side quest I can do besides MSQ. Patch 5.3 will come after that. 😀 Please look forward to it!

  1. The voice acting in this game is just… so tight. Really hard to describe, but it all benefits from having experienced stage and TV actors voice these roles. Even someone like Ryne who is very easy to mess up (with her being a younger character, which can often be annoying in games) has her lines delivered with clear confidence. I'm happy the same studio is doing FFXVI.

Man, I could hear Elidibus or Gaius spout exposition for hours.

  2. Venat is an FF12 reference and is a really interesting choice for a name of the person who's Hydaelyn's heart. In FF12 (spoilers for FF12), Venat was a god that believed the gods were treating the humans as playthings and so tried to sever the connection between the gods and the world. When the party actually meets the gods, they realize Venat was 100% right and do sever the connection. The thing is, to bring about its goals, Venat allied itself with the Empire that's threatening the main characters' home kingdom, so to stop the Empire's invasion the final boss of the game is Venat, a character you ostensibly agree with (FF12 is all about anti-interventionism and how a superpower's actions, no matter how "just," can destroy smaller nations as collateral, and Venat disrupting the power-balance of Ivalice with its actions is 100% in keeping with that theme). I think this name choice probably signals some fun plot developments for Endwalker and Hydaelyn's role in it
