The train arrived at the destination, dropped off it's passengers, and then turned back before the bubble arrived.
i don't mind that WE didn't intervene, but i do believe that Alisaie 100% should've at least tried to. that girl threw herself at the antagonist du jour every expansion she was in and she just stood there looking like she remembered she left her stove on.
If you run dungeons with the duty or trust group you’re guaranteed a piece of gear for your class every time you clear. In case anyone needs to farm a piece of gear and don’t want to spend 10 hours. its also a piece you dont have already so its easy to gather the entire set
love the episode you guys rock socks!
Real quick what happened at 41:49??? I legit thought i was having a stroke XD like was Kyle waterboarding you off screen?
He had 2 heads in the second phase cos he used his father's soul as a monster boost
"All the whores were player characters"
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Really like your return to these types of videos.
I don't think viewership is taking a hit because of the format. I think it's purely a timing thing and a (slight) disillusionment of the story so far with most people.
I'm sure if DT was 1-2 years into its cycle and you made these exact same videos there would be a lot more traction. Keep up the good work!
Dawntrail went full political, North American, woke. Blame a company square affiliates themselves with that has done this to numerous others.
The editor's note though 🤣
Im still surprised no one talks about how similar those robots look to the people from the second world we went to in Meteions dungeon. That was the thing that confused and annoyed me the most when they got first introduced.
This isn't spoilers at this point. With the mention of the rubber bullets….. It's something I noticed while lvling my Jobs using mostly the FATEs system in DT. You don't kill any "humanoids" in DTs FATEs. They all run away after their health is lost. You kill monsters and animals but not humanoids, they all escape. Just feels like DT is so child like on how to deal with tough situations at times.
On the "older than expected" thought, remember that Viera are the one player race that actually does have an extended lifespan. It might not actually be noticeable unless she's like, already 300 years old or something.
I'm not sure if that's what's in play here, but CERO, Japan's video game ratings board, are super weird and strict about certain topics, guns included. It wouldn't surprise me that they'd have to up the age rating in Japan if they had a duel with real bullets instead of rubber bullets, in spite of all the violent death going on elsewhere.
My take on the rubber bullets is mostly that they liked the idea of this kid and his altruistic gang of folks who solve everything by the ancient code of dueling with pistols, but reasoned in the broader sense that you couldn't do that straight without saying they're using less-lethal ammunition. Kind of the reverse of the Batman with a gun situation: if he's using a gun he feels less heroic and his vigilante behavior less excusable.
So, re: your weird feelings about the depiction of the wild west area vs. south americans' generally positive opinion on previous areas:
You're used to better, more faithful depictions of those places you know, while we're used to so, so much worse, just horrendously cringe-worthy depictions of these places we know. I beg you, whenever you're feeling some sort of way about Shaaloani, to go and watch the scene in that one hulk movie where he's hiding in Brazil, working at a soda factory in a favela in Rio. Favelas are specifically places where there is no space for businesses like that! If there's a soda factory in a favela it's the size of a postage stamp and will most definitely not produce enough to export! They didn't even use a brazilian actor for the angry boss. The guy's meant to be speaking portuguse but he sounds like he's having a stroke in spanish.
…so yeah, what i mean is. It's a matter of perspective. Shaaloani is perfectly fine, you're just used to not being constantly let down.
JoCat is actually BEHIND you guys and just finished the "dad dead" scene. You need to watch the VOD when he posts it on youtube it was a great reaction!
Not really related to the video. The Escaflowne box set in your clip is so refreshing. It was an iconic anime of my childhood. Love the small shoutout to it.
Awesome video, I can always count on the two of you to be able to sit down in a room and have some FUN talking about video games whether it be good or bad, it's good energy and why I keep coming back to y'all's streams and videos.
I can only speak for myself, but the reason I'm not "consuming" FFXIV heavily at the moment (even though I really want to!) is because the DT discourse is almost nothing but the same tepid takes regurgitated over and over, nothing but dogpiling the exact same whining and bitterness and drama farming and it's MISERABLE. I don't even click on most vids that get recommended cause I already know what they're gonna say, but the kind of discussions you guys have are a breath of fresh air and I appreciate your integrity in putting out vids you can be proud of even though it's not super lucrative at the moment. Will definitely keep watching future videos for this reason.
The rubber bullets didn't bother me because I saw it as a natural extension of their culture evolving over time. At some time in the past they switched from using actual bullets to rubber because it was more civilized, and this in turn made them even bigger fans of using "duels" to solve their problems. The sheriff eventually banned them doing it in the city cause it was such a disruption. Zekowa shoots the gun out of Wihuwte's hand just to prove he's the better shot, otherwise typical duels with rubber bullets are just shooting each other because you can.
Lmao love the intro to this
I honestly dont rememebr anything about rubber bullets in that segment
"FF14 can't handle on-rail shooters"
SIRS!!!
Do the "Air Force One" GATE in the Gold Saucer.
The basics of on-rail shooters are there.
The train came back because it was already fully outside the bubble when it went up. If you recall, the bubble was preceded by a large earthquake, and the conductor pulled it to a stop in the middle of the tracks for safety purposes, on her return trip, right when it went up.
So, FF14 loves to give characters names and cultures, which are leaning on real-world cultures, especially if you consider the regions. You know how Hydaelyn kind of looks like a fantasy version of the real world, with The New World being North and South America…
so…
I come from a European perspective… is it okay to give the natives and the cowboys names which (to me anyway) look like native American names?
It's an honest question, I'm not sure how to feel about it still lol
The wait was worth it! Another great video guys! I enjoyed hearing your takes on things and your cooking for the upcoming story. Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of it.
The train cutscene was so good. it reminded me of FFX airship cutscene.
