Downfall of Final Fantasy XIV Reaction

The original video can be summed in 2 sentences:

1) The way I raided has changed and this has ruined the game for me
2) Anyone who doesn’t agree or doesn’t play the game the same way as me is obviously wrong and this one pain point is destroying this game.

yuck.

  1. Ok……References Zepla…..her stuff shouldn't even be relevant anymore. Skips the story and complains….Quinn69 also did that. Says there's no content, but proceeds to say the team spends the money on other content? Huh? God there's more holes and craters in his video than there are in swiss cheese or Mercury.

  2. What a train wreck. I hope the original creator sorts their stuff out and finds whatever it is that gives them joy, but man, times change and things evolve. If you have no connection to this game for anything other than raids, maybe re-think your priorities. Especially if you're this unhappy.

  3. It was at around 26:30 or 10 that I lost my patience with this dude. This isn't even a matter of "you dont pay my sub" but "you don't pay for my right to exhist". The people who play the story. Don't raid with you. The people who dance at clubs and RP, don't play with you. So why in the holy mother of fuck is he acting like they're the problem? That's so gross.

  4. I only miss the cross class system just so I can do stupid shit in ARR/HW content without a Job Stone, other than that I'm glad it's gone. That system was terrible overall, was only fun back then for the memes.

  5. i was with him making the video and made the thumbnail of it, i think a big point of the video was missed here.
I been watching you since your very first video on ff, watching your journy and growing with the game and did a few raids with you lol
so I hope you can understand the video a little better if i break it down without the "ranting" parts lol

he quit playing at the start of endwalker, it was hard for him to do cause of his love of the game
and his points are valid for a lot of high end and long term players that might be harder to see for people who have only joined since endwalker

point 1 : making the game easier for new players doesnt actually help them get better because the game itself doesnt teach new players how to play their jobs or read mechanics properly, that is left up to older players to teach new players per the games design (the mentor program and discords like the balance for example). but if there is nothing for older players to do or enjoy, there is no one to teach and trying to make it easier has proven its not actually working nor did anyone expect it to. people who want to play optimally will learn to do so and people who dont, wont.

point 2 : the game used to make content for everyone, hardcore and casual alike
now all content outside of ultimates is focused on casual players : example the new alliance raids have all been one shot clears my first time running them, its been like that for most groups.
every other alliance raid set on release on average had at least 2 full wipes to start over cause the content was harder and required more prog for at least a midcore player but still was understandable enough that casual players could be carried by more experienced.

the extra explaining of the video is to show new players the huge ammount of changes the game has went through in 10 years and how despite there being more money, there isnt more content.. for anyone, no matter what level you play and making what content we do easier and pretty doesnt actually beniffit the player base.

lynx taught me everything i know about the game and helped 1000's of people learn at a high level. this was something hes sat on for the last two years cause prior to now because it was unacceptable to critisize the game. he loves this game. i love this game. people who play at a high level want better for everyone. I raid, I rp, I run an fc, raiders do a lot of stuff, not just raiding.

also as far as skipping story, a lot of us do that. i get a lot of the game is story but the story isnt the gameplay. its just apart of it. i have over 15000 hours myself in the game with skipping the story. I have done every kind of content in the game. after a while the recycle often feels hard to cope with. like its just busy work till another ultimate. even the savage tier this patch was on shadowbringers ex levels. the idea of go play other games is harsh cause i have to pay my sub to keep my house and also i love this game so i wanna play ffxiv, i dont wanna play another game.
its not out of bounds imo to ask the creators for what we were promised over the last 10 years.

(edit : i should also add that he never googled any fight, he was whats known as a blind prog raider. a rank one tank blind prog raider. one of the types of people who learned the parts of the game not taught by the game and figured it out and taught it to others. we need players like him or there is no google the fights cause no ones gonna go figure it out for everyone)

  6. there's a lot fewer optional dungeons of late. I hated Bozja and Eurika both. We've been waiting for Island Sanctuary since Stormblood. Raiders have never been catered to, the same way they are in WoW. There's a lot more casual content in XIV. Summoner/Red Mage and Black Mage have TOTALLY different play styles and mechanics.

  7. for me, it's fine what is the point of them making another Bosja or something you have Borja already let the devs try something new if you like it do it if you do not like it, do the content you like, this game keeps its content from previous expansions relevant not like wow which makes its previous expansion zones, dungeons, raids, dead content
I'm not on the side of the crybabies
if you like the game go play it if you don't go play something else don't cry about it

  8. He is a moron he just cares for what he likes and want and dont even consider other people way to play cause he already decided it doesnt matter he complain cause the model of expansions repeat and than when they try something different he shit all over it and complain cause he want just one type of content GET A LIFE JESUS…. They should waste time to please 5% of people that want extremely hard content and let the rest of the game stale?!? Does he realize that 80% of players dont even know what he is talking about in raid mechanics and just play a totally different way in WOW it was the same everybody complained cause the game is TOO EASY but only the 5 % completed mythic raiding DOEHH!!!😳 . Things could get better of course but to say that there isnt anything new in raid mechanics is bullshit of course some are similar but it is not easy at this point and time after 30 years combine of WOW and FFXIV to invent some new boss mechanic that is totally fresh. After the end of the story cycle it is normal that the game lose some interest we ll just see where the new story bring us , i personally feel that they should use the new start to improve game quality of life and interface mechanics that need a heavy overhaul like for example trasmog system that is so over complicated unmanageable and clunky if you compare to the WOW one or the house system itis not possible at after all this time you need to still use glitches to create, or give new life to all the Grand Companies stuff that are abandoned or lost in the process. I am every day more sure that a part of nowdays gamers are simply not able anymore to JUST HAVE FUN !!! Thats right i said it…… HE SHOULD JUST QUIT and let people HAVE FUN HOW THEY WANT AND PREFER

  9. He is a raider, but raiders get more content than midcore people do. XIV content is heavily weighted towards casuals, then you have midcores who got sweet F all since bozja really, criterion/variant do not have the staying power as content and we got no proper relics to work on in endwalker; then you have savage raiders who got what they always got. He's right, the game is getting worse, he's just looking at it from a very specific perspective, that happens to be his own.

The crazy thing is, i've seen this before in XI and it's playing out almost exactly like it did there. I think shadowbringers will be remembered as the peak of XIV's quality and everything after that as a gradual slide downwards, in much the same way as XI's later expansions were; you'll see peaks and dips as you go of course, seekers of adoulin was a fantastic expansion on XI and came late in its life, but overall the trend now is downwards and it's okay for players to rage against that dimming of the light.

  10. "It's getting easier"… As someone who started at the end of Shadowbringers… the game doesn't feel like it is getting easier, it feels like I am learning how to play the game better (As someone who does some savage, but not much… and the main thing that gets me to log in daily is playing with friends in an FC. Even without raiding, I play regularly).

  11. That guy may just be outgrowing MMOs as a genre and is venting out his frustrations.

No classes have a moment of glory? Red Mage combo? Gunbreaker Gnash and Fang? Paladin's Requiescat? Summoner's Bahamut/Phoenix? Ninja's Bunshin? Monk's Perfect Balance? Dragoon's Life of the Dragon?

But what else should I expect from a player who thinks leveling other classes is useless?

  12. If you're a story skipper how can you even enjoy the game at all? I'm sorry but it's an RPGmmo. If you're ONLY raiding of course you're going to get burnt out of things to do. Woof my dude. Go play another game like Yoshida-San said and come back for Dawn Trail raids. 🙄

  13. This whole "Raiding is everything" mentality is why i quit wow. This dude had some good points but damn man shitting on story lover especially dropping a yt person crying at the story was so uncalled for. on top of that shitting on ppl who level jobs because they want to and basically saying "Youre a casual youre not going to be good at raiding with that job so why bother". Like wtf. Hell Ninja I probably wont ever raid with becuz how complex it is, but damn i enjoyed leveling it and playing through its story and i like the glams.

  14. Its funny cause I raid in this game, but i also play other games as well. For example in dark souls, you stand in the correct area dodge attack and let the boss resolve, otherwise you die, so i dont get his point does he want (stand in danger zone and not die?) Just play hack and slash

  15. the ppl crying are mostly midcore and content creator and acting like the game is dead lynx is a insult to the ffxiv community and should be always ignored his take come fro ma raiders view a remained both midcores and raider dont make more then 15% of the player and i am being nice here that alone should be always said first second ew is the first expantion to focus it post content to be FOR CASUALS unlike shb and sb who focused on midcore player leaving nothing for the 85% of player other then being force to unsub or worstdo midcore content ir afk at limsa . While the game is for everbody i think it should always focus on the VAST mayority of it playerbase first then the rest and ppl often forget se doesnt have unlimited devs working on it so sometimes some content will not be focused on in a expantion .

  16. The fact he attacks and clowns on people for enjoying this game in ways outside of raiding is disgusting and ruins any real points he had. While i agree on a few of his points, him basically going 'people who like casual don't deserve to be counted' is so bitter. Him deleting his character proves this doesn't come from a place of compassion but from a bitter man trying to blame the game and community for his own inability to self reflect.
