Disclaimer: None of the music or the game and the NPC characters are mine except my character, Nemu Okiyre, and the ocs that I drew surrounding her character.

Some context:

When I first listened to this song a couple times, my mind wanders to think about how everything started when she lost her father to the calamity. I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted the direction to go, other than I wanted to draw it out. Sorry if some scenes are referenced inaccurately. I am tired. @_@

Ikanaide/don’t go is a song about a person reluctant to watch a loved one leave, so I tried hard to convey it for Nemu in this video I suppose.

To explain some things in the first min of the video…
The man petting her head and leaving Nemu is her father, Y’mirr Tia. She has strong feelings of being a happy family together with her mother, but because he is an outsider, his visits are limited since Nemu’s home is on an island where miqo’te are living in seclusion.

Nemu’s mother is the woman with brown hair is her mother, Khatya Okiyre. She’s a good mother, but overwhelmed by grief and despair by the loss of her husband from the Calamity, she could not mentally be there for her daughter when Nemu needed her.

The children and the mother and child were basically to represent people who ostracized Nemu, despite her wanting to connect with them.

I wanted to separate the main scenario and her past so that I could think as much lore for her as I want to without changing much in the story, and I like thinking about how much I can think about how it may have impacted or how it felt for her. The young child beside his mother, is innocent compared to the older kids. It’s more like the child wonders why they cannot interact with her.

I hope that answers some stuff.
One day I will give a whole text of lore behind her home and her family… XD

Anyway, thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy this.

  1. OOoh that was touching. Fairly similar to my own OC's story, except her family was executed under suspicion of Ishgardian Heracy due to my OC (Lin's) dragon-like talents (she had a natural talent for learning from Soulstones and had fallen into contact with an aincent broken one from a fallen Dragoon.)

Then she lost her entire adventuring party in the Calamity before being sent forth in time to the events of ARR. So the feelings of people leaving her life due to tragity feels very similar.

    Really good work!

  2. I Love this! Also Ive got to say, the timing of this was really good. I'm a teacher over here in Japan and my student's graduation is next week. I saw this video just after having lunch with my third years (probably for the last time before they graduate because of how my schedule is.) and when I looked up it started snowing. It had been sunny all day but just after watching this it was snowing for about 2 minutes. I almost got emotional sitting in the Teachers office.

P.S. I am writing this some time after because being a teacher in Japan is busy work. I came back to watching this again and leave a comment.

  3. For whatever reason, this reminds me of a phrase a friend of mine once used to refer to a character of his (we're both into writing as a hobby). "To the man that knows what it is to be lonely, the legions of hell itself could not bar his way if it meant that he would be leaving behind the people he calls friends."
