Doing These Things In FFXIV Will Help Conquer Healing Anxiety

Playing Astrologian for the first time in FF14 was one of the most stressful things I put myself into. Today I am here to share things I did to help my become a better healer and overcome the anxiety that comes with playing healing jobs such as White Mage, Scholar, and the new class Sage (Endwalker release) in Final Fantasy 14. I hope this video helps and calms the nerves a bit when it comes to tackling your first…or third healing class.

  1. All in all: healing in FF14 is easy (excluding savage). In lower levels you have to pay more attention since you dont have as many instant spells and oGCDs in your arsenal, and since your are expected (!) to deal dmg (which means applying your dot and throw them rocks or broils or stars) you should always keep an eye on your CD and whether your can complete a cast or interrupt it for a heal. But yeah, from lvl60 and 70 onwards, all healers get fleshed out nicely and you have your "oh sh*t"-bottons at hand 🙂

  2. Great video with helpful tips! I switched datacenter recently and went from the usual tanks I was playing with pulling trash two by two to tanks that don't bother with their cooldowns pulling wall to wall and it's been giving me so much anxiety that I just don't have fun doing it anymore 🙁 could you make a guide for handling big pulls? Thank you!

  3. I think my problem is that I don’t allow myself room to make mistakes which gives me healing anxiety because I’m constantly thinking about what other will think or say about me. Luckily the people in FFXIV are so understanding and helpful that I’m slowly losing this fear. WOW is just so toxic and stress inducing.

  4. At first I was a very protective healer that didn't like to let my party take any dmg but as I started to take advice of others to test limits I've grown much more comfortable not babying my party so much(unless they get hit by everything that's avoidable than I might baby that person a bit out of expectation that the next mechanic is probably also going to hit them as well avoidable or not). Though lala certainly helps me test too as he tests the limits of how much he can pull with how much mitigation he can save too and we try to meet in the middle more or less respectively. XD
