  1. The problem I have with this UI is that it's obnoxiously massive and unwieldy. Ever since I saw it on the screen of streamers, I have trouble understanding why anyone would cover %40 of their screen with it, especially in harder fights that require full visibility of character's vicinity.
They'll need to add a LOT more scalability before I ever try it.

  2. I honestly am a little worried about the turn this thing is taking. These players put the WoW UI and don't even know the job they are playing. I'm sorry to see FF XIV content creators promoting disallowed add-ons, and making videos about the game meta. I sincerely hope Square Enix takes action soon. Add-ons, Dmg meter, Meta – these are part of the cause of WoW's downfall. Do we really want them in FF too?

  3. Never going to use that Launcher. Any addon with access to your password is just asking for trouble. I wouldn't mind a major nameplate update, but other than that I'm happy enough with the UI as it is. Frankly, it's refreshing not having a list of addons so long that you need a manager to keep up with them all. The only thing I have at all is ACT and I don't even open it half the time because I don't want to turn into a judgmental elitist asshat with this lovely FF community like I did while doing prog in WoW. I'll pull it up occasionally on my DPS jobs when I'm doing a casual run just to see how I'm fairing in general with my rotation, but then leave it off most any other time. DPS meters turned WoW into something very ugly for me, and I don't want that in this game. The go, go, go, do more, more, more and you're bad if you're not on top of the meter mentality can stay in WoW.

  4. This just looks like more compensation tools for people who cant learn to play with the tools they're given. Just like all those UI add-ons that tell you when to move and what attacks are coming. That kind of shit should result in a ban in my opinion.

  5. Sorry but 1. Never give your account Data to a third party Tool and 2. This Addon stuff is getting to much and can in the end only be hurtful to the game, ACT is already a huge step in the wrong Direction when promoted towards new players as it is being done by certain streamers currently and recently I had to report way more people because they were harrasing people in Duty roulette based on DPS Data they got through it. If this keeps going they will possibly add a data checksum implementation or something checking if files were changed before the game starts and that would mean that not even Gshade would work anymore. Thx a lot Content Creators for possibly ruining things for everyone else and yourselfs.

  6. this is useless, ff14 already makes you customize the entire UI…this quantity of addons will make the game like wow, and the same bullcrap and depedency of addons that wow is now after some years.
the devs need to be clear and remove this asap, or the wound will increase just like wow.

  7. No thanks. If there is one thing I don't miss from my time playing WoW, it's the constant reliance on addons for playing the game. I'm not saying that the in-game UI is perfect, but this is too much. And then there is the fact that you need to use your password in a 3rd part software?? That's a can of worm I'm not willing to open.

  8. The big worry I have with a lot of these add ons of that they become the standard/meta and folks who don't use it are at an obvious disadvantage and this left out of don't content, especially high end stuff. This is a big problem in WoW after all. I'm not sure if a UI addon runs this risk but certain other ones certainly do if not addressed

  9. Welp, there's the first step of those "Competitive World First Raiders" that poisons whatever game they play by making these things the norm,
which will inevitably lead to elitism and gatekeeping. I don't want esports in FFXIV and I don't want them to ruin FFXIV for me like how they did to WoW.

  10. I prefer my UI as clean as possible, I never understood why streamers like to use so many add-ons at the same time, a lot of times they fail mechanics because they couldn't see it coming for having so much trash on screen.

  11. This is really cool, but I think I'll be sticking to Material UI until DelvUI gets out of its beta stage. I'll be keeping my eye on this one because I used ElvUI for years while playing World of Warcraft.

  12. Holy sht its just a UI addon theres so many crybaby players that havent played wow at all..thats a reason why most ffxiv dont like it.. there are some veterans mmo players from other games that prefers this UI also… let them have it and use it.
And its not gonna be the same as wow did holy sht.. the problem you guys should have is cactbot.. where most players sht on this add on and at the same time they have cactbot.. gimme a break

  13. i think SE will start to purge this addons soon, they cant afford to let that spread on game when half player base is on consoles. On one stream Yoshi said something like "we may start to ban people for it'' Ofc they do nothing so far so will see if they actually do anything.

  14. I used to think it otherwise but not I think it is not a bad idea after some consideration.
I mean people who have played WoW for years and are unable to get "used" to a new system need help. This will allow more playerbase to stick to a new MMO.

Not only do they allow modder's hard work to be recognised but it also helps all those WoW refugees with Stockholm syndrome bring part of WoW in FF14.

It is like a badge saying "I hate my ex but I smell their underwear everyday to sustain myself in this new relationship".
They are not really hurting anyone unless they start insisting that the new partner need to wear the same type or underwear and cologne so they can get off, because they have never really moved on. So let them sniff on these old habits. It "helps".

But then again, while pathetic, it is perhaps the first step to rehabilitation..
Or maybe it will help them keep the facade until the ex call them while bringing gifts (mounts) while crying that they've "changed".

  15. Beyond thinking this completely unnecessary and UI looks awful YoshiP has worked very hard to earn our trust and treat us with respect. They asked (not told, threatened or demanded) us not to use add-ons and I think the least we could do is honor that request.

  16. I played WoW for 13 years and never really used any UI modifing add-ons. Sure I used the DBM for helping in raids and Details! for a DPS meter. I would try things like Weak Aura, but to me they seem to more trouble than they were worth. đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž

  17. I have used this plugin and the /pcombo mod. What it basically do is to consolidate the button bloat that ffxiv has. It merge the 1-2-3 combo into only 1 button to mash. This has helped me tremendously in cleaning up hotbars and reduce number of button to press cuz I don't have mmo gaming mouse.
