  1. And so comes to an end this prelude, and now the final chapter in the tale of this star beckons. Soon we shall walk the end of this tale's thread, to many lands long hinted at and lands yet undiscovered. Our enemies are cunning and well prepared, but so are we, for we carry the hopes, prayers, dreams and thoughts of all those who we fight for and those who fight with us. Soon we will fight some of our greatest battles against foes both old and new, but as it was once said before, "we won't be afraid to forge ahead.", and we will not go gentle into that good night, we will rage, rage against the dying of the light.

  2. I just wanna take a moment to thank you for sharing your journey with us, between the joyous laughter and the emotional crying it's been a wild ride to say the least and it's been a privilege to have shared that with you. See you in Endwalker! 🙂

  3. …And then WoL said: “Ok you two are my kids now. No take backs guy.”

In all seriousness though I look forward to meeting Ameliance from what we’ve heard so far she sounds really sweet and I wonder how she’ll stack up to Dulia.

  4. There’s been a ton of speculation about the whole stance that Sharlayan is under
Fourchenault’s direct refusal to help, plus disowning the twins, is almost blatantly a “we have answers and we are not sharing them” as well as “my children aren’t bound to my name anymore” meaning they can act without his reputation or authority
An interesting note is that Sharlayan has been working under a sort of prophecy about how the world should end. Said prophecy was supposed to be the Eighth Umbral Calamity, but we’ve ended that prophecy a little too directly, but whether they’re aware of it is probably a no. So their denial of the Final Days might or might not be in reference to their inner workings
And lastly, there was a New Years letter from yoship that included a note from a journal which almost for sure describes Fourchenault and the twins
“Our progeny may never know, wherefore we look unto the sky, nor why we dig for truths below, we bear their scorn or watch them die” (truths below probably meaning Labyrinthos being a subterranean archive below Old Sharlayan)

  5. While I await Endwalker, I will drink many FFXIV streamer tears and gorge myself in my darkened room. Then the expansion will be here all filled with emotions and adventures. And the heavens will bear witness to my final contest!

  6. Thank you so much for sharing your FF14 journey with all of us! I hope you'll share your reaction to the Endwalker full cinematic trailer, too! Fandaniel would strike me as nothing more than a super-powered, even-more-punchable Asahi, if not for something that makes me very afraid. If he intends to recreate the Final Days… If he means for it to be an accurate recreation, then that means he would know what caused the original Final Days in the first place, and as far as we know, not even the Convocation of Fourteen understood what caused the star to fall ill and the need for Zodiark. None of us knows the cause behind the Final Days in the first place, and if Fandaniel is enacting it deliberately today, what if it was done deliberately before? And if so, why, and by whom? I can't wait for the answers, and I can't wait to watch you discover them alongside all of us! ^_^

  7. Hey Ysa! At this point I've watched your every FF14 msq video. Hope to see you in the Endwalker! Also, there is a good quest in Revenant's toll called One Final Journey. It's easily missable and I thought you would enjoy completing it.

  8. 45:50 "To ignore the plight of those one might conceivably save is not wisdom – it is indolence" is a particularly funny response to Fourchenault. Because these same words spoke Louisoix to Forchenault before he left sharlayan. The dialogue of Forchenault in this scene doesn't change if you pick it, but his facial expression is more shocked if I remember it correctly.

  9. Fun thing that some might not notice. But during the meeting with the beast tribes, when the sahuagin "expresses his passion" (8:35), Merlwyb is the only one to look NOT concerned by the display. And it makes complete sense.

  10. I still think there's more to that scene with Fourchenault that we'll find out more about in Endwalker. They do like to drop a misdirect or plot twist in the pre-expansion patch story. I mean, it may well turn out that he is just a dick, but they do go out of their way to point out that they wouldn't have send an envoy, no less a member of the forum, if they had no intention of helping. The rest of the forum wouldn't even acknowledge Krile. I think he might even have been trying to shield the twins from something, maybe even bigger and worse than whatever Zenos and Fandaniel are up to, going down in Sharlayan. Well, I hope. No one needs a dad like that if it turns out he's just a nasty piece of work.

That Arenvald scene, that last line, if that's not some heartbreaking sacrifice waiting to happen foreshadowing, I don't know what is lol. He's got the echo too, I can totally see him taking our place doing something crazy that would end up with us being dead or otherwise gone.

  11. It's an amazing end! Assuming the gameplay appeals to you you should check on Bozja's story although you do need to have done the Stormblood alliance raid series to unlock it because it's a direct continuation of that story.

  12. An easy way to see if positionals don't matter: if the targetting circle around the target is completely solid instead of having a break where flank becomes rear, positionals don't matter!
