  1. As a GW2 player as well: To players like Shadow_Darkmoon, please don't come to GW2. It's these clowns that can't do anything other than auto attack that need to get carried and ruined great meta designs (Dragon's End)

  2. fishing/rp main here, these people are on some shit, none of the new stuff is hard by any means. so u die to it the first time, so wat. u arent expected to play perfectly BLIND. and honestly, the new style of telegraphic mechanics is so cool and im actually looking forward to pugging this savage tier

  3. Honest question, is it difficult to learn how to tank in Dawntrail? I want to tank, but completely afraid of some of things out there. For context I have always been playing SMN, RDM, and did PIC for the msq.

  4. I’ve been playing since ps3 arr…. I didn’t try anything difficult until heavensward…. I didn’t care about materia/gear until StormBlood…. Didn’t start intentionally getting better at my role until the Shadowbringers…. Took me to Endwalker to actually do savage stuff…. Been playing to have fun and everything changed when I wanted to get good…. Now I have fun differently lol

  5. As someone who is mostly casual (I did the first EW savage tier and a few EX trials, but most of my group went back to WoW, and I didn't have much luck in the PF for P5S) I've found Dawntrail to be significantly more fun than Endwalker and Shadowbringers. I've always felt like the gap between normal content and extreme was too great in this game, and that the game needs more midcore style content. Dawntrail has done the best job so far of bridging that gap, and while I think there's still room for bridge content, I think Dawntrail will likely have the highest conversion rate from casual content to ex and beyond.

I feel like the people complaining about this level of challenge have no interest in actually getting better, and just want easy content to be entertained. But as someone who mostly does roulettes with friends, I really don't want to see that content getting any easier.

  6. I genuinely feel bad for the person who gets that much anxiety with others. I imagine they've had some bad experiences. However, they also have most likely blown the experience out of proportion.

Just because you can't get something the first time doesn't mean it's too hard. I died a bunch in my first runs because idk… it's brand new and I didn't know what was going on. Then we do it again and again. It gets easier. I don't understand where this concept has gone in the past ten years. IN GENERAL. Resilience, sticking with something, dedication, commitment, self-reflection on what you could do better… all these are basic life skills that are apparently not okay anymore.

  7. I think the changes were great. Normal mode shouldnt be hard, but it also shouldnt be braindead like in Endwalker. You have to think and play the game semi-properly to clear fights in normal now, and that is good because it will help the average player improve over time. I am not a skilled player by any means. I do extremes and sometimes savage, but im parsing green or blue and taking weeks to clear. It really isnt that hard to improve. I started playing less than a year ago and I can clear most extremes in one or two lockouts in pf. Ordinary people who cant clear normals just arent even trying.

  8. I didn't enjoy the story as much in Dawntrail but the battling content was so refreshing to do, even as a Savage player. I was caught off guard by the 7.0 dungeons but I grew to enjoy the uptick in challenge. I don't want this expansion to be dumbed down for players who refuse to learn how to play the game. We're level 100 already.

  9. I don't understand, some mechanics are on repeat and people can spend 100 levels doing them yet never understand them, some of the new mechanics on dawn trail tipped me up and i died..so okay? Failure happens, fail a few times learn from the mistakes and move on.. its called growth.

  10. This just sounds like someone wanting free loot.

I'm a returning player, so nowhere near Dawntrail raids for the foreseeable, but I've played other games with raids. There will always be some people who want an easy time of it and expect a reward for a non-effort.

I used to do a lot of carries in other games, but I no longer have the patience for it. Getting your hands on endgame loot is not a right; it's a privilege. If I go in a raid and fuck up, I admit I've fucked up and try to learn and do better next time. I will enjoy any loot I earn because of the effort I've put into earning it means I deserve to own it. I would never cry and ask for the difficulty to be lowered.

  11. Entitlement without end. It's a game, not a visual novel. These people have legitimately put 100s of hours into the MSQ but can't even tie their shoes. They should be filtered because they are just total parasites in every group they ever join.
It's fine to not press any button for 10 secs and fully concentrate on your movement to finish the mechanic since it's not Savage or Extreme mode. I also wiped on M2 (Bee girl) because of the hearts and puddles spawning on ground, but I simply stopped doing damage in order to see how the mechanic works and concentrate and it worked. Same with M1… I laughed my ass off when the plattforms destroyed and I fell to death and I also laughed when she destroyed 3/4 of the platform in M4 and I wanted to run back and also fell. It happens once, but never again.

If people really struggle to press 1, 2, 3 while just pressing WASD, they need to be filtered. I dont expect them to clear with 50+ logging parses or gamer mode, even grey is totally fine – a clear is a clear, but their entitlement of "I played for 6 years" is just stupid to begin with.

  12. Over the years I've become pretty casual myself because life, but I think this guy is being selfish and ridiculous. The game is already easy. Don't ruin content for people who at least want a little challenge because you refuse to acknowledge or correct your weaknesses. He just made excuse after excuse while never giving in to the fact that others think the difficulty is fine. An improvement if anything since the regular content has been so easy imo. He called out other people for thinking selfishly while ironically whining about specific optional content as if it should be catered towards the lowest common denominator of players.

  13. Too many people don't look at the Bosses cast bar or what part of their body looks different. You can't even say "there's too much going on" when half of the bosses body is glowing. These are level 100 raids. it's time to stop relying on yellow marks and stop staring at your actions 70% of the fight.

  15. Loving the changes feels like there’s more risk of a wipe etc and not steamrolling the normal modes. And helps you improve. More of a bridge for people to get into savage.

  16. it was definately harder from a healer perspective which basically means as an astro you cant get through dungeons by just using star and horoscope anymore. was nice if not a little nerve racking to have to use neutral sect and macrocosmos in a dungeon

  17. OMG just stop Yoshi said he was going to cater this to more experienced gamers and so what you died 9 times learn how to play better I have always felt dying is part of the game if you can just breeze through the content its not worth playing.

  18. The problem with braindead normal content is, that it doesnt prepare the people for harder content AT ALL. Even if you want to get better at the game, it doesnt let you until you go to Extremes or Savages which are then wayyy too hard for people who got carried to the endgame by the braindead normal content. Square Enix needed to step up the normal content and I wish there was a middle ground content for players who want to eventually get into Savage and EX.

  19. Ironically one thing i’ve learn throughout the many years since i’ve played this game from 1.0 to now and pugged majority of all savage is that the true toxicity in this game are these casuals who doesn’t care.

They won’t hesitate to vote kick you in duty for lame excuses, “you pull you tank”-mentality in dungeons and flip tables over being told to something ingame and call you a no life neckbeard for doing savage. I recall i even saw some casual bashing raiders on forums over that they put the axolotl mount in P12S

I can count the amount of bad encounters i’ve had with “hardcore raiders” on 2 hands in Savage from ARR to now and the amount of toxic casuals i’ve met i’ve lost count by now because it’s far too many. And they like to make it out that it’s the raiding community that’s the toxic one

  20. As an old raider from omega tier, the new raid tier is not that hard and I could understand the all mech in just a couple runs with friends figuring out together. Thankfully there’s new mech that are something new rather than reuse the old ones existed. Have fun raiding.

  21. "It's ok to have a vuln stack or to die or fail but if you do die or if we do wipe my elitist raider ass will yell at you and leave group" Thats the DF experience in those raids, stop pretending that its not, i never met a kind party for raids in DF either you perform or people get pissed

  22. The problem I see is if they nerf it, it will be too easy, if they change it back to the original, it’s too hard. No happy medium. Many games, especially WoW has done this and then gamers complain it’s just too easy and boring. I say just leave it as is and learn to improve. Thats the challenge and when it’s actually done, the accomplishment feels great. 😊👍🏻

  23. The biggest thing people aren't happy with but are misattributing to the dungeon's difficulty is simply a lower ilvl.

At the start of an xpac everyone has a lower ilvl for awhile closer to the dungeon minimum. It's always been this way, harder until people's ilvls get boosted by tome / catch up gear / crafted gear / normal raid gear. Once more people have that gear it'll be too easy again with all the more complex phases skipped leaving only the phases where a boss teaches you the moves one at a time before combining them.

The biggest issues FFXIV has with difficulty swinging wildly from one direction to the next, is the faster you put down the boss, the easier it becomes, like stupid easier. The learning phase of a boss isn't supposed to be challenging but when ilvls go up that's all you'll see.

  24. Xeno may be being nice… but i'm just gonna say it how it is. People like this can go fornicate themselves. The mechanics are basically the same with new telegraphs, as slow as always for Normal too, so these people are just insert favourite gamerwords who want to be catered too as they have to been for many expansions to the point most jobs feel the same…. We had to put up with Wuk Lamat and Everything being oversimplified as they still are, SO you can put up with a new AOE icon.
