What changes?
I like how they talked about rewarding tanks for timing their mits in the live letter, this can be seen in the upgraded mits on the other tanks. Not Dark Knight though, Dark Knight gets none of that.
i want dark knight to get a rework just because i feel like its kinda lame. It doesn't have any abilities that are really cool or special, the blood gauge doesnt stand out among other tank gauges, simulacrum is essentially just a fancy looking DoT. All of dark knights abilities just feel a little underwhelming, or maybe overbalanced is a good word, and the job doesnt feel specialized in anything, just kinda being a jack of all trades. It has a light mage-hunter theme with dark mind and dark missionary but overall the job really doesnt leave me with any strong impressions, its just okay in the end.

I became a Dark Knight main as soon as I hit Heavensward and this just makes me really sad. 6.0 will make every other tank just straight up better than DRK… I don't want to stop playing the class, but the thought: "this would be easier/less annoying if I just played another tank" will constantly be on my mind…
I don't think I'll ever like a Tank as much as I do DRK, but I guess it's time to level something else, just so I don't have to feel that nagging feeling. Maybe I just change to poster job and I already planned on trying Sage and Reaper which will definitely be my go-to jobs for those roles.
I'm glad Xenos talks about all this stuff, because I remember when he spoke about Shake it off for War when it first came out, xenos jokingly said just remove it from your hotbar. By the next patch they changed to become a decent ability. Hopefully they'll listen to this a give it some thought.
I main gnb and I have never ventured out from it. Was going to try drk but this sounds like a big turn off

Drk now seems to have more weaving thrown into it than even Gnb,while still doing less damage than both it and pally.Its becoming 5.0 smn with none of the benefit.
It annoys the hell out of me when people try to defend Dark Mind, mostly because of its short cooldown. They make the argument "Oh, well it's because DRK is the magic tank!" Every tank nowadays is the magic tank. All of the other tanks have cooldowns that protect against both physical and magical damage. Anyone who says it isn't useless is stuck in Heavensward when DRK was the magic tank. Same goes for Heart of Light and Dark Missionary. They're just there and weaker versions of what WAR and PLD have.
It is so damn stupid, dark missionary and stalwart soul are skills you obtain above level 70. Square enix are so dumb into giving each tank and “identify” and needs to feel “different”, i would swtich dark mind for any of those two, heck even getting oblation would be better than having dark mind early, new players won’t even know how to use dark mind because only affects on magic attacks and most of players will use it while being attacked by the trash thinking they have a 20% mit
I don't know what people are talking about the skills are fast the rotation seems amazing and our companion mirrors our edginess, plus we get a unique transformation.
Don't know why people keep calling it Reaper though.
The fact that ranged abilities no longer break combos combined with that new unmend trait has me worried about the amount of disengagement we're gonna have in boss fights in EW.

Welp, time to wait two years if SE deigns DRK worthy of their time to make the much needed fixes and give it something that actually adds to the gameplay instead of another oGCD to juggle in the burst window
Whole lotta copium on Reddit – I got downvoted into Oblivion for suggesting that Dark Mind was dogshit.
Me: "…with the way SE designed encounters they're not going to make one tank have an overwhelming advantage anymore – Dark Mind is never going to be a requirement because they won't have a tankbuster that is only survivable by a DRK popping Dark Mind.
It would be much better if it was flat damage but as it is my opinion is that it's button bloat and not necessary to survive anything in the meta otherwise WAR and PLD would have an equivalent as well."
Reddit: "If you use Dark Mind appropriately, you take less damage. If you take less damage, you require less healing. If you require less healing, the healers can divert resources elsewhere. Or, more importantly, they can DPS harder.
It's not about a skill being required, it's about it being optimal."
Completely missed the point that a healer is going to top me off with the same abilities they would whether or not I used Dark Mind. 🙄

So apparently people are claiming that DRK has potential to be the tank with the highest DPS in EW because of all their new damage abilities coming in the form of oGCDs instead of GCDs. How do you feel about this, Xeno?
