Why the hell is it in dub, its sucks
I was so happy when I would put Emet was the narrator
I so want those two to come back. Their new roles would be scions of lost ancient magicks. I mean with all the UNSUNDERED souls released from Zodiark's death won't that mean a ton of unnaturally white haired mages will soon start showing up with the power to alter reality?
1:37:34 weirdly, Emet is kinda wrong here. It's not sophistry. Sophistry is the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving. Hermes isn't trying to deceive anyone, and his argument is sound theoretically. If the Amaurotines believe that it's there duty to make the star perfect and that it's there duty to be stewards of the star. And thus they remove flawed imbalanced beings from the star, and they them selfs are flawed and imbalanced, as we have seen with the asicans and Hermes him self. Then yes, they deserve to go. It's consistent, and cutting hypocrisy from their own actions. The problem is that the Amaurotines are seeking perfection without flaw. They aren't content to let things be, if they aren't "just so" they get killed. They evaluate the life and value of being from a point of view the precludes that life in and of it self has value that exceeds the value of a "perfect" star and that the act of having to destroy life isn't it's self damaging to the value of the end product. Not to mention the flawed assumption that a life ending willingly "returning to the star" isn't in and of itself a bad expectation to have. It means people are expected to roll over and die when they "compleat" their "purpose" and reach their "potential" or get funny looks for not dieing, leaving those who made connections with them in grief. Grief that they try and invalidate/soothe with "it's a normal and happy occasion, they lived a good life!" which it self is cold comfort to someone who feels the impending absence and then loss of a dear friend or family member.
This whole thing could have been side stepped if they had had decent grief counseling and also didn't force people to end the lives of feeling constructs under their care like that, and abandoned the notion of people returning to the star when they didn't have to.
As much as I like Emet I feel they absolutely milked him dry this expansion. Elpis was great but the narration was a bit much. Amaurot is my favorite dungeon with Emet's narration being a big reason but it just felt unnecessary for most of EndWalker. I don't think he had any business narrating the majority of EW and it ticks me off to see one of my favorite characters being forced into fan service :/
whgats the name of the song that plays when emmet starts talking about the confluence after breaking it

Xehanort! Get out of there! This is not your game.
Nomura: Yet…
Emet-Selch Ancient appearance reminds me of Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts series
Yes please, do favour us with your handsome face <3
I’m glad you posted this because watching it all again helped me understand the story a little better. It’s a complex story and it’s hard to absorb it all in the first go!
My first thought upon entering elpis and seeing emet and hethlos why tf every one so damn beautiful
I was so annoyed with Fandaniel but seeing this makes me feel so bad for him. He was the most human out of all the ascians, has the biggest heart and in the end, he didn't even find peace </3… Hyth is like a super cool bff and seems very fun to hang out with! And Hades…im in love with Hades x-x. Also feel very sad for him. He was a good person, helped tons of people, he didn't deserve to suffer for thousands of yrs and lose everything he loved :C
Hythlodaeus is an absolute gremlin and I love it
Every time I ride my sanuwa mount I think of Elpis now…
thank you so much <3
..I'm not crying, you're crying ;^;
Honestly just spent the entirety of EW trying to gain Emets approval 😅
Third time watching and just now noticing your outfit changes. It's details like that I appreciate.
Everyone saying they feel bad for Hermes but fuck ‘im. Fool was a nihilist and forced others to die for his belief. No sympathy from me. This guy saw the suffering of others. Came to a conclusion that life is filled with misery and everyone dying was a good alternative. He deserves his end.
When Emet-Selch takes his mask off, and the camera slowly pans up, while Neath Dark Waters starts playing.. i just started cryinggg lol
"But I would NEVER forsake my duty! I would NEVER forsake my bretheren!" It Hurts. Oh dear god, even after beating endwalker it still damn well HURTS!
Props to the voice actor because jesus, it still makes me tear up and cry man, Damnit
