I try to get it right the first time of course, but that doesn’t always happen. I’m glad that my commenters were nice enough to let me know what I got wrong, without being rude or unusual. Thank you all! I love you all! Thank you!!! 😀

This is an update to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6yRoC94b3A Please give it a watch if you haven't.
I made some errors in that video and had some less than ideal explanations for some things, which is why this video exists. Thank you for watching, if you have any questions, or notice something I got wrong again, please leave a comment below 😀
If you get an abundance of one mana than the other without overdoing it, I feel the procs happen a lot more often so if I see I have 10/30 I almost get a guarantee proc for the lower mana type.
As a reply for your response to my comment, yes, I use both engagement and displacement but my point is that even if its just a little dmg its still dmg. I'm also someone who doesn't use them on cooldown I always like to keep at least one stack available for the quick escape
As a Black Mage reliant on ley lines: you WILL heal me from across the room and you will LIKE it 😊
Hey that’s me! Neat! Yeah when it comes to high end content, I’ve generally always done Dragoon, and recently Gunbreaker as well. Nice, symmetrical flows to their abilities and even stacks 😂 Makes it easier to just focus on the fight.
Nah, you should start hardcasting after 5 on the countdown to avoid earlypulling. it sucks for every class that prepull pots to waste their pot because the rdm hit the boss first before the tank and the boss double autos the rdm and kills them on the spot. if the double auto doesnt outright kill them, usually losing their health and shields for the raidwide without healers/tanks immediately turning their attention to them leaves them dead
the meaning of drifting fleche and contre sixte is that normally these two would be available to use right after you instant cast a spell, meaning you have the 2.5 seconds available to use them (the full weave window of the dualcasted spell), but since your full melee combo is uneven what ends up happening is that it flips which GCD fleche and contre sixte are available on. So if you do a full melee combo then those two would be available during a hard cast (a jolt, perhaps lol), so you would end up having to drift something so that you can have them on the instant cast again. Having an instant cast GCD right after the combo efectively swaps it back so that it aligns with the dualcasted spell
I took Displacement off my bar a long time ago. I had too many issues flipping off of arenas or into death walls. Engagement works just fine for me and I don't accidentally kill myself. Does this mean I suck? Maybe, but I do try to stay alive, even though my healers might not think so…😉
For someone optimizing 10s of potency per cast, cutting out two displacements negates most of your potency gains. Flipping off the field is something you'll improve past, and penny pinching potency you'll find that two displacements that you negate with engagements are well worth your effort.
The difference between a 50 and a 80 parse is not just casting the right spells but also applying all of your tool chest to the problem. For DPS, the problem they solve is mitigation and enemy healthbars.
Acceleration and Swift aren't really that important for movement in Savage imho, the vast majority of the time you can really just slidecast + move during dualcast anyway…
A mechanic needs to have A LOT of movement and/or be EXTREMELY thight on time to require you to use either Acceleration or Swifcast
Hell, During the 4 Aeros/Holy at the end of P7S you can just stop like 3 times to slidecast + dualcast into your next position and in at least 2 of those movements you are gonna have your melee combo regardless
Only times so far that I felt I needed to use either Acc or Swift has been during Hegemone's transmission and Agdistis immortal baol just so I have an instant cast after the animation lock
And Carby's Claw and Tail right after soaking puddles and that one is purely based on which way he is facing and which attack he's doing first
That's like 3 mechanics… And 2 of them literally take control of my character away from me in the first place
Also Displacement actually has more chances to kill you than save you, there's barely any actual uses for it and you have to know when you can even afford to do so and even then, chances are you can really just WALK to wherever you need to be
In P1S you could use it to get into your square if Erich did outside-inside during 2nd intemperance
You could also just use engagement and WALK into the corner closest to the center of the arena in your square during Dualcast, which makes it so you are in range of both healers
P2S unusable for 90% of the fight, at best you could spread if you had the debuff when the water is gone + 3/4 of the arena is being cleaved
P3S moving away of the big ball at best
P4S No use in neither Phase 1 or 2, breaking your tether during Curtain Call at best, but you are most likely gonna have to avoid a cleave so you are just risking causing a wipe at the very end of the fight
P5S Arena too small, will literally just suicide
P6S Moving to your corner during stack/spread at best, you can also just slidecast + dualcast into it
P7S Killing yourself?????????
In Storm's Crown I used it to move away if she did Donut into Spread, but that's the only real use it has and I didn't even needed to do that, I was just being fancy, also my tank hated it cuz I was never in my actual position and I loved tormenting him
You could also move into the safe spots for the cleave, I guess, but I once you know the fight you really just preposition to be between her and the blade to see if she is gonna do Donut/Cleave, so you can still just slide + dual into position anyway
And for puddle baits into spread you either Slide + Dual into Acc / Swift or just save your melee combo for it, maybe I could have used Displacemente here, but I honestly think 90% of the time I would just end up in the outside wind wall of death so… Nah, I'll just walk
I can't think of any uses in EX1-3 but to be fair I did them just a few times
But I don't recall finding any uses for it anyway
If you do prepull and get aggro for a split second in something like P8s you will die and your group will have to reset because of the instant and ranged autoattacks so your worry wasnt entirely unfounded. Start your cast on reaction to the 5 indicator and not preemptively. If you still get hit then that's not on you o/
