Complete Guide To Squadrons – FFXIV New Player Guide

This is my guide to Squadrons in FFXIV! I think I covered everything you need to know but if I missed something please let me know in the comments! I hope you enjoy!

Recruiting Members:
You can recruit new members by completing Challenge Log Entries
-You have a chance to get an applicant when you do
-You can see who applied and review them
-You can have 8 Members total

Training:
-Click on the regimen board
-Select what attributes to increase
-The training takes one real world hour
-You can increase their attributes up to a cap
-Once you reach the cap you can still train them to move the allocation around.
-Change their classes with tomes of “Contemporary Warfare: X”
-They do NOT get the job classes. Example: Marauders do NOT become Warriors

Glamour’s:
You have to get them to level 50 to change their glamour

Squadron Missions:
-Click on your Squadron Sargent NPC
-Select your missions
-Sending your squadron out costs GC Seals
-These missions take 18 real world hours to complete.
-The chance of success depends on the three different attributes.
-1 attribute meets the requirement: Less than a 50% success rate
-2 Attributes meets the requirement: you have a 50% success rate
-3 Attributes meets the requirement: you have 100% success rate
-They will gain XP from successful missions and failed missions
-Max Level is 60
-Trainee Missions
-Routine Missions
-Priority Missions
-They reset every Tuesday
-You can only do each of these once per week

Command Missions
You can take your squad with you on a dungeon run
While some of your squad is out on a mission you can take the others on Dungeon runs.
Orders to command your team
-Click engage on each mob
-Micro manage them
-5 unique command missions unlock the next Rank up
-Unlocks the Flagged Mission: Sapper Strike
-This gives us The Rank of Captain

Squadron Rank:
-Flagged Missions to Rank up
-Appear when one of your members hit certain levels
-Level 20 – Flagged Mission: Void Sent
-Squadron Rank 2
-Command Missions Unlocked
-Level 40 – Flagged Mission Crystal Recovery
-Squadron Rank 3
-First Lieutenant
-Last Flagged mission appears after 5 unique Command Mission
-Flagged Mission: Sapper Strike
-Rank of Captain

Squadron Chemistry:
Upon successfully completely missions will grant your members a chance to gain a Squadron Chemistry Bonus.
-These could be changes to obtain items or increasing a stat if paired with a certain type of team mate.

Battle tactics:
You can change the tactics of your units during Command missions. It doesn’t actually effect their AI. Instead it is a buff to their stats.

Types of Missions:
Trainee Missions
Routine Missions
Priority Missions
-They reset every Tuesday
-You can only do each of these once per week

Why should you do this?
Get the max rank in your Grand Company.
Which then gives you access to more items from your quarter master
Higher Rank also give you a higher seal cap

Making Second Lieutenant in any Grand Company, will allow transferring between Grand Companies.
