In this video, I will talk about all abilities available to the gatherers botanist and miner, and cover the most important rotations that you need to know if you want to farm items efficiently. We’ll go over how to farm untimed, timed, and collectable nodes and the best abilities to use!

I made a video similar to this some time ago, but decided to remake it because I wasn't happy with how it turned out. The crafter version of this is coming up soon as well!
Babe, Jolson just uploaded!
Awesome videos! still have your crafters video bookmarked for serveral occasions!
Love your videos mate. Great knowledge without tons of filler & cringe like most FFXIV YouTubers. You deserve way more views & subs.
I personally disagree that using the Meticulous rotation is the optimal way to maximize collectables. This is because of the sheer potential power of Wise to the World.
Consider the basic Meticulous strategy. Assume the worst possible outcome, that neither use of Meticulous procs, and you get no Intuition procs so you're forced to use Scour, and then your Ageless/Solid use does not proc Wise to the World. On a standard 6 integrity node, this gives you 4 total items. But the chance of this occurring is quite high since the chance of proccing Meticulous is only 25%. Theoretically with the best possible procs you could get up to 8 items, but this is extremely rare because of how many lucky procs you need. The overall chance is <1%. On average with this method you get about 5 items. Sometimes 4, sometimes 6, but more than that is very rare.
If you are Gathering-capped for the item you're collecting (i.e. Scour gives 200) and have at least 870 GP, a different strategy presents itself. Spend ZERO GP on Scrutiny and instead press Scour until Collectability is 1000. Then spend ALL your GP to use Ageless/Solid 3 times and any WttW procs.
At absolute minimum, this strategy gives you 4 items just like the standard Meticulous strategy. You lose 5 attempts to Scour, and then gain 3 from Solid/Ageless. However the chance of getting more than that is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Meticulous strategy. If you proc Intuition twice while using Scour, then you automatically save 1 attempt. This isn't that uncommon within 4 Scours because Intuition maxes out at 40%. But you can ALSO take advantage of any Collector's Standard procs to swap Scour with Meticulous and potentially save an additional attempt. If you only get 1 Intuition proc in the first 3 Scours, then you can swap the last two Scours for Meticulous since you'll be at 700 Collectability and 2x Meticulous is sufficient to reach 1000. Or you can risk another Scour in the hopes of Intuition, but the chance of proccing Meticulous once is slightly better, and you can potentially proc it twice.
So already it's quite common to get to 1000 only using up 4 integrity, and occasionally you can manage 3 (Technically the lowest possible is 1 but this is almost impossibly rare). Then we can consider Ageless/Solid and Wise to the World. You're guaranteed +3 integrity, but can get potentially an additional +3 from WttW procs. Since the proc chance is 50% (much better than any other integrity-saving actions or procs) you will proc at least once almost always, and commonly twice. Getting 4 or 5 integrity back most of the time. So we use up 4-5 integrity and can get anywhere from 3-6 back, averaging 4-5. (The absolute best possible result would be -1, +6 resulting in 11 items from a 6 integrity node but again, impossibly rare)
With this method I find that you average about 6 items from a 6 attempt nodes, and 7-8 is actually not that uncommon. In fact the worst possible result of 4 is quite rare. Give it a try next time you're running collectables.
Perfect timing! Working on my MIN/BOT/FSH at the moment, and loving it!
