This is a video comparing the different ways you can level in World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV. Obviously, the biggest way is questing, but there are several other options presented! In this video we take a look at those ways!
Anyways, I just wanted to apologize for voice, I been feeling sick for the past couple of days… part of it being a very bad sore throat. I pushed through though and hope it came out okay!

DESCRIPTION:
Final Fantasy XIV[b] is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.
The original Final Fantasy XIV, released in September 2010, was a commercial and critical failure. In response, then-Square Enix President Yoichi Wada announced that a new team, led by Yoshida, would take over and attempt to fix the issues with it. This team was responsible for generating content for the original version as well as developing a brand new game which would address all of the previous release’s criticisms. This new game, initially dubbed “Version 2.0”, features a new game engine, improved server infrastructure, and revamped gameplay, interface, and story. The original version shut down in November 2012 and was followed by an alpha test for Version 2.0.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment. Set in the Warcraft fantasy universe, World of Warcraft takes place within the world of Azeroth, approximately four years after the events of the previous game in the series, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.[3] The game was announced in 2001, and was released for the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise on November 23, 2004. Since launch, World of Warcraft has had eight major expansion packs: The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), Cataclysm (2010), Mists of Pandaria (2012), Warlords of Draenor (2014), Legion (2016), Battle for Azeroth (2018), and Shadowlands (2020).
Similar to other MMORPGs, the game allows players to create a character avatar and explore an open game world in third- or first-person view, exploring the landscape, fighting various monsters, completing quests, and interacting with non-player characters (NPCs) or other players. The game encourages players to work together to complete quests, enter dungeons and engage in player versus player (PvP) combat, however the game can also be played solo without interacting with others. The game primarily focuses on character progression, in which players earn experience points to level up their character to make them more powerful and buy and sell items using in-game currency to acquire better equipment, among other game systems.

Hey all, I been really sick this past week, worst of which is a symptom is a really bad sore throat, so I really hope this came out okay, I had to push pretty hard to finish… Thanks for watching, I hope you are all having a good new year!
Most people end up spamming dungeons in both games. Very similar experience in both games I found.
I didn't know some of the leveling ways in FFXIV, Thanks!
torghast was cool when it first came out. it wasn't when you have to run it 2 times each week for a total of 10+ times per required legendary you have to make depending on the content you want to do.
In 14, there are also the levequests that can be used to level up. They usually are short fetch or "go kill that thing" repeatable quests that offer about the same xp as a side quest would. They are really useful for the crafter and gatherer jobs, though maybe not as much for the battle jobs.
Please I might never play WoW but even I know who's Jaina is, she's Anduin beloved wife and Queen who's also the leader of his harem………. Oh wait that's a fanfic.
Seriously if you never play Warcraft 3, play the early expansion or even do some Youtube you would be lost on the story.
I played WoW through Cataclysm then quit. I played the Pandaren starting zone a few years ago then quit WoW again. So I don’t know what current WoW is like, but I have to say as far as questing goes WoW is much better than FFXIV from my experience. The story of the FFXIV main story quest is phenomenal, I even loved the Ninja, Scholar, and Dark Knight class quest lines, but the gameplay involved in those quests is very simple, quick, and detached from the world. WoW was very creative with its questing, maybe not so much in Vanilla, but starting TBC it ramped up big time.
I’d say Guild Wars 2 has a similar experience. The story in GW2 is okay at best, but what you actually do in each quest (especially later on) is pretty crazy and really cinematic. GW2 has some really dynamic game mechanics kind of ruined by lack luster writing and a super casual design philosophy. In other words, combat and exploration in GW2 are phenomenal but everything else is mediocre. It’s like the polar opposite of ff14.
FF 14 also has the Grand Company Squadron that you can run dungeons with. Its you with 3 other npcs – and if you train them up they absolutely demolish the dungeons to the point its actually faster to clear with them than a mediocre player group. sadly the system is a bit abandoned and only goes up to lvl 60, but it is especially useful for leveling up lowlvl DDs, because there is no queue wait time. So even if they are a bit slower than a good group, you will still make up time for not having to wait to find a group at all. You can send them on Missions to get some nice Stuff and even glamour their equipment. The Squadron is also how you reach the highest Ranks in the Grand Companies. It is definitely worth it to put some time into it. With Endwalker they also introduced a loot box system, which you can buy with the grand company seals and get old expansion pets and mounts from if you are lucky. You need to have the highest rank to buy them tho. It is a heavily overlooked/underutilized feature – especially by new players who often barely if at all interact with it.
sadly Exiles reach is only for people who capped their first toon
WOW didn't used to be like that, the original starting zones (which you can still access) are much more similar to FFXIV. Exile's Reach was added in Shadowlands, and that's where new players are forced to go. If you played before Shadowlands, you can select Exile's Reach or the original starting zones. I quit at the end of Legion so this video is the first time I've seen any of Exile's Reach. But you are right, Exile's Reach is PERFECTLY representative of modern WOW.
Stop comparing an old dead mmo with the perfect ffxiv lol you should compare and see the progression between FFXI and FFXIV. FFXI was really better than lolWOW.
