Having the whole crossover be set in ARR zones really enhances the story because you can really tell that Clive is from another world from his polygon count alone.
Yeah I see the Minstrel as a Watcher, the only person in the game who knows you the player but also has to maintain a facade.
I think the PC version is fairly soon since I'm pretty sure they announced they are in the polishing phase. I think they are going to surprise announce it very close to it's launch date. It's what I'm expecting. Probably a little after Dawntrail launch is my prediction.
That’s so cool. Clive is one of my most favorite protagonists in gaming.
EVERYONE:
CLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIVE
I love the fire telegraphs in the duty to know more precisely when the snapshot was going to occur. They've done it before on the final Aitiascope fight, but it's so rarely used. I hope this means they plan to integrate it into more encounters.
It was pretty awesome seeing the minstrel helping out with Clive's trauma by summoning him and the WoL in a pocket dimension, summoning, FFXIV Ifrit, then transforming it to the FFXVI version.
When they mentioned Garuda I got my hopes up. I thought we got to see Benedikta somehow, like the FFXV event that happened recently. Alas, it was not meant to be.
I can't believe that they got the Producer of Final Fantasy XVI to appear in the crossover.
PaxEast 2024, yoshi-p said there wouldnt be spoilers for FF16. LIES! I already beat it but for those that havent, it spoils the prologue and later half of Clive's character development, both retelling what happened in FF16
If Torgal and Clive are indication of the graphic update that will come with Dawntrail, we're in for a nice upgrade 😀
You can actually dodge all of the mechanics including the ones without the dice countdowns. it moves at a frantic pace if you attempt to dodge and counter every single one of them ^^
So damn good loved this!!!!!❤
♥♥♥
From what I gathered, whether or not this event will spoil anything for you depends on if you've watched trailers for 16. I had already beaten 16, but as someone who had avoided the trailers after I knew I was going to play it, the key thing they mention in the collab event would have been a spoiler for me.
I mean, they did spoil the entire first plot line
my only smallish gripe in this quest is that the Wandering Minstrel just walks into the meeting with Elder Seedseer whom we the WoL just got a special audience with and he just pops in to say hi as if anyone in the world can just waltz in there to be a nuisance to the seedseer. I always though that place was reserved for critical situations.
Current weather forecasts are, unfortunately, for clouds and rain over most of the eclipse path here in Texas.
I have this hairbrained theory that the wandering Minstrel is Azem(ancient us Azem i mean). He follows us around, living vicariously through our adventures(the minstreling wanderer is absolutely him) and when we are done he goes "You want make that more epic?"
How is Azem here you might be asking? It was his price to pay for not involving himself in her fight against the convocation. Azem goes to where we show up reverse engineered a time travel spell, and now can experience a new world and when is time is up, activate the spell and go back to be sundered.
(listen I get it. This is the short version. The long version is more clear and makes more sense.)
The event was nice but it was shorter than I would have hoped.
The dodge dash counter gave me some Tera vibes. I would like to see more of that but it probably wont happen.
Safe Travels while in TX.
Haha yeah. When at the end the Camera shifts to your Character, it really felt to me like "My face when Yoshi P tells me to go buy a PS5 and play XVI"
Where in Texas?
Why surprisingly fun though? Did you expect it will suck?
I enjoyed it, but felt it could have been longer. It seemed much shorter than the 15 crossover quest. I was done in 20 minutes and felt a little anti-climactic.
I'm hooked!
The one thing i noticed almost immediately in the fight was how responsive the dodge ability was. You could press it as the circles were disappearing and still get the evasion, as long as the damage hasn't gone out already.
I didn't dislike the event, but during the fight, I was falling asleep. there wasn't any real danger and I wasn't blown away at the mechanics or the fight itself really. Being able to dodge literally everything with a very very generous iframe giving button made the fight very mundane. I get why as it's an event that everyone can do so it's gonna be super easy. but like with Rathalos, i was hoping for another version of the fight that required 4 or more people and was well… something that required me to actually do something.
I'm just a little disappointed i guess. the story with the minstral and clive is good. Clive felt out of place as he should cause he is literally out of place here, but the fight itself… was meh at best for me…
that's just me. I just think back to rathalos and what they could have done here…. It's Freakin Ifrit of all thigns like come on.
It's funny that Kan-E get's so much dislike. If you pay attention to the cutscenes from ARR you'll notice, from Cartineau to the Bloody Banquet, the other leaders tend to defer to her judgement and decisions. Despite the fact that she's younger than the others, not as much younger as she appears, though. She's supposed to look delicate and fragile, it's the contrast to her strenghth. Though, as a Padjal, Kan-E will look as she does now for the rest of her life, barring her hair possibly gonig white. That's just Padjals. Oddly, she's the oldest looking Padjal in the game, all the others look like children while she looks like a teenager at least.
The torgal mount also has different sounds for a lot of different terrain, which i think is the only mount that has more than 2?
You know, the FF15 Collab and this one makes me think.
As the FF15 Collab had Garuda as the Core Primal and the FF16 Collab had Ifrit.. which Collab could give Titan the Main stage of a Collab?
I mean, Titan is one of the three Core Primals of ARR and I would love to have an Event like the FF15 and FF16 one, but with Titan.
I know he got a "New" Form (I mean Shadowbringer is a couple of years old now) in the Eden raid Series, but still.. It's just a different feeling.
Joshi B has taken us on some wild ride with this one, hasn't he
oh wow FF16 Ifrit is gorgeous in Eorzea
imo the Torgal mount looks best with a lalafell character, with the other races (and especially the tall races) it looks a bit awkward.
"Most of us have mount music disabled"????????? hell no that's one of the best features in the game 🤣 I can choose my own soundtrack by changing mounts? And it doesn't matter which one I pick because all of them can fly? 10/10 feature
