  1. I feel super lucky to have met a group during the coils that were all around level 50, that decided to go through the whole thing together. We really struggled to get through the whole thing. We wiped for weeks! It was the genuine experience. We took on Alexander too.

  2. Gg these raids are lit I did them when I started playing right when HW came out so we where only level 60s with 120 gear or somthing like that so they where still hard af unsynched lol but they are insane raids

  3. Answers (the song in the last fight) always makes me cry. Every single time. I recommend looking up the Flames of Truth cinematic. It's a depiction of the end of 1.0, and the beginning of A Realm Reborn. It's beautiful, it's scored fantastically, and it gives so much context to everything while looking AMAZING.

  4. I was there and progressing the entire thing when it was current from Bcob and fcob people don't believe me when I say ARR was like the wotlk of ff14 when it was current

  5. Soken is a phenomenal composer. You were right when you said FFXIV is lucky to have him!

Also, whilst the effects are way over the top in FFXIV for my personal liking, one thing i cannot deny is that SqEnix do a fantastic job at making their instances look insanely good

  6. lol you were synced but 1/2 to 3/4 of people in your group were on Blue Mage. Blue mage is a limited job that is incredibly overpowered and normally cannot do content like this with a matchmade group, among other restrictions on the job.

Edit: I see the # of BLU was changing as you progressed. Also Turn 9 is infamous for its difficulty, thats probably why they decided to unsync it lol

  7. Coil is so damn epic (even when you run it solo unsynced).

Oh, there are some short stories on the Lodestone that show little glimpses into some characters' lives. Not much more than 2-3 pages if they were printed like a novel, they are still damn interesting. Don't read any stories in the sections of any expansions you haven't completed, they have spoilers. And the Calamity section seems not have been properly translated so it gets a bit odd in some of the short stories.

  8. Kind of sad they killed Bahamut right before the song got to its climax, he didn't get to hear that incredibly powerful singing. I wish they'd held off on the dps a little more.

  9. The final fight back when it was new was pretty much paced to proceed in time with the song and the whole thing is pretty much a callback to the way the original End of an Era/A Realm Reborn trailer.

  10. well, that was interesting… I'm someone who finished Shadowbringers and crafted a Deathlocke Lux (a Machinist legendary weapon) which required completing all of ARRs and HWs Primals in their Hard mode, this made me think it would've covered content like Coil of Bahamut, yet somehow this is my first time ever seeing this quest – glad I saw it

  11. It's probably a good thing you didn't try to sync Turn 9… that might've taken awhile. Though it was fun watching the synced blue mages smash through everything. In addition to what you said about unsyncing/higher level gear it making it easier, having blue mages also makes it easier because they're completely overpowered, but only allowed in lower-level content.

  12. This was retard hard when it was the highest gear you could get the whole party had to know what they were doing no carrying or you would waste your whole night over and over lol especially bahumut and twintania

  13. music is a way to evoke emotions and having something that sounds poignant is a way to make the player feel a connection to the story. More MMOS need to use this especially in epic boss fights.

  14. Only recently started ffxiv aswel after 16yrd of WoW. The first 30ish lvls I was just speeding through, like I was playing WoW.. then I found this playlist of yours and it made me slow down and enjoy. This video in particular has rly made me want to play more and just take it slow and actually experience it, instead of gtgfast.. thank you sir
