  1. As good as Thordan EX was, this patch was panned hard. HW released around June and 3.1 dropped in November. The MSQ was very short as well as It was heavily delayed due to a (well deserved) vacation period after HW released. The "Content" added such as Diadem and Lord of Verminion were a disaster. Void Ark was a lackluster 24 man Raid with a lackluster story. The relic step added at the time was also seen as SUPER grindy and unfun. This was also all following an extremely overtuned Alexander 3 Savage and insanely poor received Alexander 4 Savage which lead to an all-time low with the raid scene of the game.

  2. As a new player around this time (I started playing when 3.0 released), I have a different opinion than majority you will see. Most people will say the content was subpar, but I enjoyed them a lot.

Diadem was super fun with friends and lots of people around, and dying from monsters while trying to gather.

I enjoyed how Void Ark was difficult as this was the first Alliance Raid that I did as current content. The CT raids at that time were easy (but not as dumb-down as now), so doing something current was a good experience.

Thordan EX was when I started getting better at the game drastically compared to before this patch came out. I progged it with casual friends though we didn't clear it until it got nerfed with Echo.

As for the LoV in Gold Saucer, I played it a lot. I started collecting lots of minions just to play it even more. It is convoluted but definitely fun, especially the music.

  3. I'll probably be the first and only one to say this, but I think you shouldn't watch any of these patch videos. You have already spoiled yourself multiple bosses in the alliance raid now and it would've been much cooler if you saw them for the first time ingame. I enjoy your reaction content, but I think this really diminishes the impact.

  4. pls dont react to patch note trailer sinch most of them is full of spoiler for the story.. and some of them is kind a ruin your experience a bit.. i think you should going in blind and watch them after you finish the story for that patch

  5. These patch launch trailers are a bit too much spoiler for my liking TBH – for example why they put Ser Aymeric's assassination in the trailer?

It would be great to go back to react to the patch launch trailers for the patches you have already done (2.0 – 3.0) and see for yourself. They also may surprise you that some of the features we take for granted now were only added pretty late.

Oh, DO NOT WATCH 4.0/StormBlood launch trailer (cinematic trailer is OK). The launch trailer spoils a big moment of a 4.0 MSQ :-(…

  6. Youtube algorithm is so terrible…

"Oh, i see you watched every single video Quazii released in past few weeks. You're also subscribed to him, you liked his videos, and you have notifications enabled. He just released new video. No, im not going to put it on your frontpage, instead have 17 music mixes from artists you dont know".

  7. I agree with a few other comments here that the patch trailers have a spoilers in them and you’d be better off not watching them. They have gotten somewhat better with this overtime but even their most recent trailers have had this issue. Especially: do not watch the shadowbringers trailer that is on YouTube, only watch the one that’s ingame!

That being said there is a lot of very good side content open to you (24-man series, extra dungeons, etc) now that you are done with 3.0 so definitely recommend checking it out!

  8. The patch videos get better and better with each new expansion. The new ones seriously look like game trailers, it's sooo good and don't get the attention they deserve, excited for more of these!!!

  9. Some of the recent patches have been big, but relatively smaller. But a big reason I think is because Endwalker release is going to be the biggest content drop in the games history. At least that's what Yoshi-P said.

  10. Ironically, patch 3.1 was one of the worst received patches. It came after the dev team took an extended vacation post HW launch, so it was released a few months later than normal, and didn't really add much, comparatively. Probably pales in comparison to what Shadowlands dealt with though

  11. The music you were asking for at the end is called Heroes Never Die. It is a remix of the Heroes track from 3.0 end Thordan fight and this ost is played in Thordan Ex (yes the extreme has a different OST) and it is simply one of the best OSTs Soken created. Highly recommend you to try out the Ex version just to enjoy the OST in the atmosphere Quazii, considering you am sure it will enchant you.

  12. For me and many others 3.1 had very little content to actually do. This patch finally made me level all crafters to 60… By grinding, meaning slowly levelling by just crafting… a lot haha. My FC would always find me in our garden, crafting away, became an in-joke.
Truth be told, Diadem flopped. It seemed super fun at launch, island exploration, big monsters spawns, everyone goes to it. But it quickly devolved into all the parties moving between two small islands, exploration was dead and you followed the ideal path to farm gear most efficiently. Oh yeah, this gear actually dropped gear with random stats that could be better in some cases than raid gear. Diablo style loot. Raiders who were still unable to clear current tier Savage were grinding gear here to have an easier time, because first savage tier for Heavensward and mainly the third battle was absolutely brutal for most groups and it was slowly killing the raiding scene back then.
So if you disliked Diadem like most, there was Thordan Extreme, that wo sooo much fun on release, I can't stress that enough, min ilvl felt amazing. A lot to learn and killing it felt great. We farmed the hell out of it too. And if you weren't really raiding, that was all the patch had to offer then.
PvP have not been this alive ever before as people were just trying to do "something", I had fun doing the PvP stuff in this patch.

Overall this was the weakest patch for me, but there was still stuff you could do around.

  13. Eyo Quazii, just a suggestion, but I believe you should attempt the 3 dungeons "Lost City of Amdapor", "Amdapor Keep" and "Amdapor Keep(Hard)" before you start on Void Ark, they actually have story ties together. But it's okay even if you don't do them, but it clarifies some stuff if you do.

  14. If you ever just want to mix it up for one of your videos, thordan extreme is a fucking amazing extreme primal synced. One of the most difficult fights in 3.0 when it launched and even today it still holds up quite well

  15. I feel like these trailers are just spoilery and wouldn't recommend watching them. More fun to be surprised by what the dungeons are and what the raid bosses are etc.

  16. Notes on daily/weekly content: Beast Tribe quests are FF14's daily content (alongside the roullettes). Each Beast Tribe takes about 15 minutes per day to do all the quests. The rewards are materia and cosmetics like mounts, furniture, etc. Maxing out a Beast Tribe's reputation takes about 30 days of dailies.

All of the gear-related endgame content (grinding tomestones, raids, etc) is weekly. Tomestones can easily be maxed out by running 1 Expert dungeon daily for 5 days, for about 2 hours of work total. The normal 8-mans also take about 2 hours per week. So aside from time actually spent learning the Savage raids, you just need to put in about 4 hours a week for a month, and then 2 hours a week for another month, to get the best gear outside of Savage raids. And then once the 24-man raid drops on the next patch, you can upgrade all your tomestone gear to their Savage forms just by running a 24-man raid for 40 minutes a week for 2 months.

  17. No spoilers, but remember the MSQ in this patch. It's part of the general narrative be which will evolve in the culmination of the current expansion, Shadowbringers.

  18. Unpopular opinion: I liked these old trailers more than the new ones >:)

It was just a nice, satisfying overview of everything they are gonna add that patch and saved me the time going through the patch notes for an hour or having to watch liveletters.
The patch trailers nowadays may look more fancy, but it feels like they are just made to intentionally mislead you by combining unrelated scenes, voice lines and music to create a false narrative. Also, sometimes feels a bit like the overview is gone to hide how much less new content we are getting nowadays…🤷‍♀️
