Hadn’t heard this track in a few months but it is one of my absolutely favorite battle themes from Final Fantasy XIV on the whole. I love the subtle nod to the Heavensward opening cinematic as well as Torn from the Heavens. This track was composed by Masayoshi Soken and arranged by Ken Ito. As always, thank you to finalfantasy.fandom.com for helping me out with these videos – not that they know that they help me, but they definitely do.

I also feel like Torn from the Heaven is, together with the makers ruin, one of the warriors of light theme. And to have torn from the heaven being played at the end of the song, after both dragons and ishgardian have sung their piece also symbolises how the warrior of light comes to interveine in their conflict to put an end into it.
this is one of my favorite songs on my workout playlist lol. This and Instatiable from Shadowbringers are the two big songs I listen to in order to get myself pumped.
Also, were I to read too much into the meaning of the name 'Revenge Twofold'- I would point out that the final opponent you fight to this song in HW is Ilberd- and that fight is very much one where both of you are seeking revenge against the other.
revenge 2fold was supposed to be niddhog's theme but soken scrapped it the night before he was supposed to submit it and composed composed niddhog's theme right there on the spot…
I just finished Heavensward not too long ago so I was overjoyed to see this video in my subscriptions. I've been loving your video game music breakdowns for a while now, thanks for making these awesome videos!
The orchestral recording of Moebius is another great one! Getting to the final phase of TEA and hearing that track kick in while Perfect Alexander assembles is one of my favorite musical moments in FFXIV.
You should react to Insatiable from FFXIV! It is my favourite theme!
Guide us O' mighty Fury!
Guide us to victory!
The one game where I wan't to see Marco react to the music to, would be Persona 5. I think the music in this game is so special, I would really enjoy watching him react to.
*And maybe Danganronpa 2 hehe ^^

There is also a different version for this song that they used for the ultimate Dragonson
i really think (to fire and sword ffxiv) would make my day. I love this song soomuch but i just dont understand why i like it soomuch because its really weird and amazing
YOOO MARCOPOG IN THE THUMBNAIL??????
The synthetic instruments are still holding it back a little, but heavensward music always manages to be that mix between having the most violent orchestral strikes out there as if they were hitting a nail with a hammer the size of a castle, and a very romantic and delicate, aerial aspect.
It goes to show that this expansion may be set in a high fantasy setting featuring a refined aristocratic medieval society and majestic flying magical creatures as old as myths if not older, but this is war and neither side will stop to smell the flowers until the whole coerthas is painted with the blood of every last specimen from the other.
Just gonna leave a comment here asking for Serpent Eating the Horizon from Bravely Default 1. Arguably my favorite boss theme from one of my favorite games of all time. REVO the goat. Great Vid as always man!
Gorgeous.
Heavensward may not have the best soundtrack out of all ff14 expansions but it has most memorable one for me.
Okay, I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I think this is urgent and I need help.
I was wandering around on youtube and found a channel of a person who unfortunately is going through serious problems. (@RetroPixelLizard – can't put the direct link here). Long story short, his best friend sadly ended up passing away in an accident and he couldn't get over the grief. Each day got worse and it culminated in him planning to "reach the heavens earlier" this Christmas (at lest that was what I understood).
This is a very serious thing, and hey, it's Christmas, I wouldn't want something like that to happen to anyone. I've been trying to help him in some way, but alone I don't think I'll be able to handle it. So I need help guys…
WHAT I PLAN TO DO : Basically an emergency raid. I would like you to go to the guy's channel and give some support, some friendly word, something like that. Preferably close to Christmas, but any day and time I think it's worth it. Subscribing and liking the videos can help but I don't think it's the main thing.
WHY I'M DOING THIS : I… confess I'm a little desperate. Like, for real. It's the first time something like this has happened to me, and I don't want him to to that. Please understand.
And, Marco…. I saw you read my comment on the short video, that was what I was talking about. Sorry but I couldn't explain that time. I'll understand if you want to remove this comment, too.
Sorry about the wall of text. As I said, this has nothing to do with the video, but if you've read this far, thank you very much. (If you haven't read it, go read it!!!)
after watching streamers react and progress the ultimate fight, i have listened to this song(and its remixes, leitmotifs etc) way too many times, i've got enough for a year!
during said ultimate fight, it really feels like it's the knights of the round(thordan's knights) that are singing the "wills unbending..only justice" part rather than it being your character as you say in the video
Listening to you break down an excellent piece of music is always a joy to listen to!
Marco's dragon pronunciation is great lol
That first Motiff is so good that even tho its in like half of the HW soundtracks I feel its underused. It gives such sense of urgency and yet I feel pride, than how it leads to the "Guide us, o'mighty Fury"…. thats just …. aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh…. Ishgardian orgasm right there.
I always fondly remember hearing this song for the first time back in Heavensward in the Diabolos encounter of Dun Scaith, cause I hadn't progressed far enough into the story to hear it in the dungeon as to how many likely experience it. So this song just became ingrained in my brain and associated with the anime beamstruggle we do against Diabolos, and overall became my favorite dungeon theme!😅
Thank you for discussing this piece! Hearing a discourse in regards to one of my favorite free trial tracks has been something I've wanted to listen to for a long time <3
Will you be looking over FFXVI songs, too, that we've heard on the trailers? 👀
@15:20 made me think you was about to go into men of harlech, excellent video as always Marco! 😀
This was my favorite boss theme for the longest time. I still remember climbing the tower at Baelsar's Wall, the silent Griffin face reveal….and the screaming that came after with that music playing
So absolutely epic
You should listen to “letting go” from the god of wars sound track. It’s so good.
I know you mostly listen to game music but I recommend to you Rok Nardins The Mad King, The Mad Queen, The Mad Prince, and Definitely The Mad Priest
This is still my favorite theme in the game
Omg, i was really hoping you listen to ff xiv music its really great and happy to see it!!! I hope to see more love your content!
I love how the lyrics of Revenge Twofold can be seen as the two sides of the Dragonsong War embodying their fight in song.
The wyrmspeak sings of how the dragonkind felt forced to join Nidhogg's war of revenge to avoid potential extinction.
Meanwhile the Ishgardians respond with self-righteous fervor, singing of their faith, will, and the stalwart walls of Ishgard that have kept them safe against the dragons.
Both reminding themselves of what fuels their struggle, before moving on to the one thing they have in common: the feeling of having been wronged, and the thirst for retribution.
This one song you may wanna look into [ Heat Haze Shadow ]- Tekken 7
a good portion of the times, i mostly listen to Marco's videos rather than watch them, and sometimes i like to play a game i call: "Is it an instrument or is it Marco?" and try to guess what sounds might be him vocalizing the instruments… Sometimes he nails it too good lol and i need to look to see if he is doing it or not
Note: hi Marco 👋 you considered doing one of the orchestral versions of FF14? Revenge Twofold has one and it is impressive, and the orchestral version of Worm's Tail has some added flair the original doesn't have. Could be an interesting listen (doesnt need to be a video, just recomending for you to enjoy on your time too 😄)
