Believe in these SGE Changes (6.28 Patch Notes) | FFXIV

More 6.28 Patch Notes — The SGE notes stood out to me.

Vague descriptions or incorrect/inconsistent information aren’t helpful but over-embellishing a simple change is equally confusing. I’m hoping they put more thought into the implementation of these Adjustment Overviews in the future and consider what they’re trying to accomplish with them.

  1. In terms of balance, the healers are actually fine. But in terms of fun the healers are kind of lacking. Personally I would like something with a 123 combo and a cooler burst phase or more utility skills beyond just regen/shields.

There are lots of games including Final Fantasy where healers aren't just heal bots and have interesting stuff to do for dps and utility.

  2. The Sage comment was definitely written oddly and sticks out from literally every other note. That said, I do feel like people are being overly nitpicky with the notes in general.

You have people up in arms that they don't have 5 paragraphs explaining the most simple of DPS adjustments that don't need any explanation, people nitpicking basic stuff like "in light of previous adjustments made to reduce stress on tank and melee DPS jobs" which is very obvious (and even if it wasn't, they already elaborated on this in the previous notes), and when they do give detailed explanations like with PLD, people still find something tiny to get enraged about.

  3. I kind of got the sense they were hoping people would read the change and try saving their burst (Phlegma is technically sage's burst) for buff windows and get a dps increase that way, rather than making changes that would create bigger gaps in the playerbase in terms of performance. Maybe I'm reading way too much into it though, because that sure isnt several changes lol

  4. can you please not make these wierd jumps when editing? Wierd jumps in the video with few seconds to digest what you are saying makes it extremely annoying and hurtful to watch, which is kind of hypocritical when you are critizing someonelse's work for being vague ty

  5. The dev team and yoshi p have completely lost touch with the playerbase. It feels like the JP community is too complacent and doesn't voice the changes needed loud enough and it feels like the devs don't care enough about the NA community to listen to them either. So they essentially get zero useful feedback on these changes. As someone who has played XIV since closed beta and mained healers since 2.0 I am pretty disappointed in the past few years with the decisions and "balance" of all jobs, not just the healers, lately. XIV isn't fun anymore, healers aren't fun anymore, and it doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon.

  6. I was excited when I saw SGE in the patch notes, then swapped to SCH.

(would love the Phlegma III CD to be reduced to 30s with appropriate potency adjustments to balance for it, so it can actually align with the 2 minute buffs…)

  7. What do you mean they made massive changes to AST like deleting the ability to see the cooldown on minor arcana and the ability to discard Lady cards.

But honestly, I think what they meant to say was, "We buffed SGE because SCH/AST DPS was accidentally buffed when we buffed the DPS jobs (which we actually care about). WHM already got their lily buff so they should shove off."

  8. Honestly the balancing team whoever lead it doesn't know the game really well, I have a feeling CBS-3 got new staff and the staff don't even know what they're doing and just add this shit and that shit.
