Same game ofc the furries defending their pedo infested game 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
I think the main thing is that FF14 explicitly didn't change the player models too much to avoid people hating their new characters. I think they could have upped the graphical fidelity a lot on all races if they really needed to, but it'd be at a risk of changing how people saw their characters. WoW changed their character models and I know a decent amount of people saw the new orc/etc models and thought they looked a lot goofier than the old models and didn't really like the change.
I think if they'd update the hair properly and fix all the animation to not have as many hover hands it would be totally fine. If you look at the new models it's really just the hair quality downgrading it.
the main changes are the eyes and hair texture
also eye has noticeable depth now
while skin may look almost the same, but a very slight upgrade
but Yoship did mention the upgrade on the video is not final and he said to expect to have more resolution in the final game
lol why are they showing this its practically nothing
Better graphical update than how PSO2 did going to NGS at least.
the biggest update is in the lighting and shading of the environments and how those affect your character,
people often heavily underestimate just how big of an influence "good lighting" is, to making a game look good
The Roe, Elezen, Au Ra and Hrothgar face shadings really pop.
Great to have more reflective light to the eyes. Not overwhelming but still a good start, yet there is always potential.
And it's great to finally have no more grey filter on your hair.
EDIT: AS it comes to realistic expectations, people sure have problems measuring them but to each their own 🤢
I was expecting the editor at the end to put asmon through a filter, fix his hairline etc
Didn't expect a huge change, but here's to copium that it gets even better as its supposed to be incremental and bit by bit.
I don't need new shaders or higher fidelity hair, I need true MSAA.
Nothing will change for pc players, our mods are still leagues better than this. I'm tired of consoles holding back gaming.
All the ffxiv fanbois coping in the comment.
They did improve it but you probably wouldn’t notice if they didn’t tell you. If Blizzard promised a graphical overhaul and changed the lighting a bit they’d get roasted but it’s FF so great job Yoshi P! 😂🤷🏼♀️
It was really underwhelming change. Hopefully it will look a lot better ingame with all the new lighting and shadows because it looked way better in the first presentation screenshots which had shadows.
History has shown that a big graphical change in an MMO is a bad idea, people get inraged (in particular in FFXIV where your look is important to a lot of people)
Honestly I'm satisfied with the face update.
But a lot of improvement will be in shader and environment
Dunno what people expectet. If they really wanted to upgrade it they would have to abandon PS4
I expected this and I'm honestly more happier than if they did a total overhaul, most of us mmo people are attached to our characters and for them to "drastically change" might do more harm than good, so this more high poly smoother faces imo is better than say if they went and upgrade to bdo graphics.
NOW the REAAAAL question is if they updated their feet from boxes to actual feet model.
Consoles holding it back still.
The biggest noticeable difference, is the fact that you no longer can see pixels on the hair and eyebrows 😅
Though Au Ra got a massive improvement as well with their horns now noticeably in higher quality
If you wake me up at 3am i would show you more shaders change than that.
the faces were meant to look mostly the same, imagine logging in and your character is completely unrecognizable
If the graphics actually get better i might actually try this game
the whitening is happening.
There's nothing surprising about the graphics update, we already saw what it was going to look like months ago, now we just have a few more examples.
That can be done with NVIDIA filters too hahahahaa
Bunch of graphic whores it looks good can’t wait for the update atleast Japanese devs try unlike shitty blizzard that only shit on thier fans 24/7
You can never go too drastic with an update like this. They even explained why like a year ago.
from ps2 graphics to ps3… great job!
Let's give them another 10 years
It's also an MMO so you never wanna go to hard on the Graphic part or else you risk destroy normal player PC lol.
whens the last time you saw your characters face?
Wow players saying it looks like ps2 lmao. Tribalism will never end.
hd textures
Still looks better than WoW. The character models look awful it’s from 20 years ago.
Tarisland’s models look better. I wish UE5 came to WoW
Eyes are the biggest improvement, instead of being painted on the face they get actual depth and shine to them, adding some life and personality to them.
