  1. While I agree with EW lacking enough engagement – Whenever the relic grind is brought up I have to roll my eyes. Relics have always been softcore grinding content. FF has a shit ton of 'long form' grinds that make the relics seem super tame by comparison. Making the relics locked behind 2nd tier tomes allows you to multi-task with the current tier of content. That's feels less shitty than making us run old content that you otherwise wouldn't be touching for anything other than that current relic weapon. Sorry. Having the option to do Frontlines, Treasure Dungeons, Hunt Trains, Roulettes is just objectively better than running Syrcus Tower. Or Grinding FATEs in Yanxia.

Did they need to up the tomes needed to grind them? Sure, I think you can make an argument for that. But let's not pretend that the casual approach to relics is what's driving down engagement. (From: Someone with literally every relic in the game, including Physeos step on every StB one)

  2. If you compare to last expansion or stormblood, it just feels like we have a lack of content, the relic weapons this time around had no real unique way to obtain them, it was just, MORE TOMESTONES, which you got by doing the activities you do every day already. While criterion/variant dungeons were an interesting idea, it cant compare to the amount of content we got from eureka or bozja.

  3. I remember back in ARR, we had so many things to work for with a clear path to get them. We had relics, veterans reward, Gold Saucer, raids, Tome gears, and so much more. Back then, all those things were new and exciting to us. Skip forward 10 years and we still have the same shit. It's not ARR anymore. We need excitement and rewards worthwhile to grind for.

  4. am I the only one seeing that the 14 team is focusing too much on 16 and his DLC instead of 14? Square Enix movement to make Yoshi P 16s director was a bad and lazy move.

  5. I came across her linkedin because I was determined to find out her age once and for all, and she's around my age (35). Says she graduated highschool in 2006.

Edit: god what is my life

  6. I’m grateful to ff14 for keeping me distracted for 2 years during covid lockdown hahas. But ya i am starting to run out of things to do in game since playing final fantasy 14 was all that i mostly did during lockdown. I’m currently taking an extreme break by pursuing further studies and will be graduating next year near summer. Hopefully the backlog of activites from athena to dawntrail will lure me back ^.^

Anyway, i’m stuck subscribing anyway since i own a medium house.

  7. Why Zepla always looks desperate? KEKW

But I agree with almost everything said, and I really dislike people Whiteknighting a multi bilionaire company like SE, treating like this is a small indie company, moslty people who defend are new to the game, and probably play casually so did not reached the limit of stuff to do, sadly, and talk those things about the game is really important, people who like this game and see their flaws, are not haters to point out and criticize, just want the game better.

The main problem in FFXIV for sure, as mentioned is replayability, some contents are like "hello, here is your first time and last time pass, and here we will gate keep you not for your enjoyment, but for your weeklies, and also this 'cool' dungeon you will just rush like a chore just to get your tomes".

  8. Finally, some creators who tell the truth. A few days ago, I posted something on Reddit, and the entire community got upset, disliking my post. The FF14 community seems to be getting stranger by the day. Somehow, they view FF14 as a perfect game where nothing is wrong, and you can't criticize anything.

I don't know if the game is starting to cater more to role-playing and casual players who spend their time idling in cities( Like 70-80% of the community consists of RP or total casuals.), but FF14 needs a change in mentality. Throughout history, significant progress has been made through conflict. You can't improve if you always say 'Yes' and never step out of the comfort of your rage.

  9. The only time I felt real burnout in XIV was after the Ishgard Restoration. I did too many crafts to the point that I was sick of with it, but hey it was worth it, I got my title twice xD. Now in EW, I don't know if I can call it burnout. I still log in every day to do roulettes and other stuff but it feels a bit lonely playing. The biggest downside to EW is content that is boring, because of thatt my FC is kinda dead at the moment and many members became bored with the game or took a break from it.

  10. I am so so so so glad this has become the common opinion, I've been feeling this since 6.2/6.3 and hopefully with enough community feedback CBU3 will actually do something to shake things up but lets be honest we just gotta hope that the JP community feels this way too because that's who the devs listen to

  11. The way they did Island sanctuary is absolutly terrible and ruined it for me. I did it one time and never entered it again, because the UI's and the overall "gameplay" is just janky and unfun

  12. 9:50, I remember back in Heavensward where we'd be stuck in a dungeon 'cause the tank or healer left, we would ask FC mates to join in-progress to help us clear the dungeon. We would wait around for 3-5 minutes to see if a new one would join queue before asking in FC chat for someone to help us clear. I can't remember even having a moment like that again in years where I'd want to ask someone for help.

  13. yeah feel similarly, I just feel pretty bad that square did spit on everyone playing ffxiv with delivering worse product for 2 years and ask the same price and on few store things even increase the price and ask for more money, it just feels wrong

  14. WoD is the worst WoW expansion. It only recieved 2 patches with 6.1 being a relatively small patch for the time. It was especially rough with the drought between 5.4 and 6.0 being over a year long. Square has delivered on all of the promised content so far from the road map last year, except for a third ultimate.. Of course the quality of EW content feels a lot like 6.0 WoW but it's really not the same.

  15. A way they could work in a new exploration zone and do a revisit to the 13th is by having the death of zeramus have a similar effect as the killing of the light wardens in ShB, where the darkness begins to fade and opens new parts of the 13th like it did with the empty in the 1st.

  16. Yoshi P and CBU3 doing FF16 has its cons like all the manpower now has been split , our update windows are longer , cause they are doing 2 Paid DLC , and PC port
and knowing Yoshi P , it's gonna take time and FF14 will suffer for at least 2 more years~

  17. I get why people say EW is the way it is but thats coming from people and i say it, that dont have any meaningful connections in the game itself. Most people play solo, and so does almost every streamer like Zepla. She has her former Static, her discord people but she fuked off for nine months to play Genshin and the likes only to come back to ff and make a video after tree days of being back only to complain there is no content. its like, okay girl we get it. Yes her points still hold. Also i think people still didnt get the most fundamental message of ff, its not meant to be played everyday constantly and people forget that. Big P said that for this exact reason.

  19. Post Endwalker feels is like having finished that series you been following for ages and now you feel a bit empty for a lack of something to yearn for. Post anime blues basically. Eureka and Bozja type content is missed greatly at the same time i do not miss that god awful pagos light grind, or bozja's "collect 10 of X number things with really low drop rates within the bozja zone but high rates outside of it". Mind numbing tedious grinds that feels like i need to rely on people doesnt feel nice. The drought at least keeps these zones filled up to a degree. If EW had its own zone then i doubt people could go back and get progress in their eureka or bozja weapon as effectively now as they are. New tomestones for relic is definitely future proofing and more accessible though cant argue with that.

  20. She is entitled to her opinion but I think most people don't understand endwalker is in a holding pattern. I feel also it's uncharted territory. Come dawntrail I feel it will go upwards.

  21. I have always said as a new player (started Nov2021) the difference between me and others is new content feels like "additional content" where new content for others feels like "the only content" because they have completed everything else. That is why I am happy these conversations are happening yet not really engaging with them myself, I trust people like you and Zepla to speak out and work to keep this game good, why would I not trust you guys, you have been the core of the ffxiv twitch space since I started and always showed passion for the game. So I hope newer players like myself remember that its good to enjoy the game and its okay to not be involved in these discussions if they make for feel negative, but these discussions are IMPORTANT and will make the game better when the "additional content" one day becomes OUR "only content" <3
