Great Episode 🔥
I can almost guarantee at least aspects of the ending will be dissapointing to these guys
Jessie makes me feel like I'm normal 🤣 I also watch every FFXIV video and rewatch certain reaction videos.
I'm so glad that Jesse brought up the topic of overhype, because I've been worried about that for Garret and Kyle for a while. Now that there's a louder voice on it, I feel better that it will cool down.
Yes, and not only Shadowbringers actually, almost every expansion is a sloooooow burner. Heavensward also starts extremely slow and boring, but that Thordan fight, damn.
Agreed that it's slow it's why I hate rushing through SHB. I always tell everyone they gotta just take their time and cruise
soon their face gonna dye amissly with tear of emotion!
Clearing the yellow quests on the maps really does lead to some cool little gems! There are some quests that don't even show up until certain combinations of quests are completed. There are also so me really lame or boring ones too. For some reason, I'm stuck on Amh Araeng. I can't get myself to do those quests.
Play both, enjoyed both although still lots of time gating mechanic and grind in wow it is heading into right direction
The type of quests chain Jesse mentioned is actually exist since ARR in the name of Delivery Moogle Quests.
It's mostly dealing with side characters that you maybe met once in the MSQ or other side quest. Can't say it is a must, but certainly nice for people who want more.
I do think that Guild Wars 2 has a great feature that FFXIV needs to have which is a true co-op MSQ. GW2 does it so well.
This was amazing guys! As always impressed by your professionalism and passion for this project
When you get the Youtube plaque you should cut it vertically in half and put each half at the edge of each camera so when you're both on screen it lines up and becomes whole.
This is going to sound awfully convenient as the channel's resident Stormblood fanatic, but I agree with you about the 1st half of Shadowbringers, Garrett. I loved Rak'Tika and Trolleydad, but I think there are a lot of pacing issues early on that people (maybe willfully) forget about.
mythic+ gang wya
ill say holding together a samllish fc is not easy in ff14 cause people go away a 200 person fc prob no issue but 40 or 50 people l… the content gaps hurt for the people who stick around cause we dont want to abandoin our friends in fc but it gets real quiet in the downtime
Wtf my entertainment worlds are colliding. Always been a fan of Jesse Cox and now he's doing a thing with my favorite podcasters.
I think there is a difference between people who played ShB after waiting for months and those who played directly after finishing StB. If you end an expac with a high note and start a new one with a low note, it might appear slow. People who waited for months were hyped by teasers, interviews and trailers, wanting to know more. This made the start more exciting and did not appear so slow or at least fall into the back mind. I was one who waited for months and after looking back, I can totally see how it can feel slow.
I did not find the beginning of Shadowbringers boring or slow at all, though I can see how Garrett and other people similar to him would. By that point in the story I completely trusted the FFXIV storytellers to have a payoff for all their setup. I also REALLY enjoyed an actually subtly frightening fey zone after being thoroughly disappointed by Ardenweald's 'super happy fun fairy time in the goddamn land of the dead for some reason' in WoW.
I am also a person who gets really hooked just doing the exploration part of mmos. I WANT to spend time soaking in these mysterious new environments and learning what's going on in them. Even seeing how the normal people in these strange lands live their lives and helping them with their somewhat mundane problems is fascinating and heartwarming to me. Some of the content I enjoy the absolute most is the exact stuff a lot of other people complain about. There's a beast tribe quest to help them wash some sheets in a river, and LOVE it because the idea that my WoL is humble enough to do that makes me smile, as does the fact that my WoL's actions made the world a safe enough place that this became one of the more pressing things they could even think to send an adventurer to do.
Not a fan of Jesse's take on the removal of job quests in favor for role quests. I like the story for sure, but I enjoyed the personal progression of my character in the job quests, so it feels like that is lost.
28:20 i overlooked some bits and so i thought FF14 had it too with ShB after Class quest quests, and current patch content, but what i overlooked is that they actually mention eachother. not as much as i like as its just mentions but still.
i mostly like Jessie when he's just playing through stuff with other ppl, be it God of War or some other wierd game with Dodger
