  1. pointing out that the playerbase will probably complain again real soon when it comes to the glamour chest do kinda point at how flawed that system is as a whole. wouldn't it just be easier to take a page out of wow's book and keep a register on glams you have obtained instead of having to physically store the item?

  2. I think people complaining about the exclusive rewards are dumb. We already have a bunch of those for different systems of the game. Ultimate raiders get cool exclusive titles. Utterly deranged maniacs get exclusive titles for soloing PotD and HoH without dying and so on.

Let the pvp addicts get their stuff.

  3. i don't care for the raid gear AT ALL. ESPECIALLY the maiming. It looks just like every other dragoon set in the game, who cares if it glows for savage versions? >.< I will be glamming over it in 2 seconds flat. SO disappointing.

  4. Great video. Explained all very concisely and didn't belabor parts that casual player don't participate in that much. You should continue doing these videos so everyone can understand what is really coming out in the patch. Thank you.

  5. Island Sanctuary reminds me a TON of the forts in WoW's Warlords of Draenor expac. Every bit of info given reinforces that. Dear GODS, I hope that's not a bad sign — WoD's forts & the absolutely stupid quests and mandatory boring shit associated with them were some of the things that drove me to FFXIV.

Edit: don't get me wrong, there were some things I loved about the forts, but the bad shit outweighed the good. I'd love to have a fishing hole on the Sanc, for example, with a chance to bring up a sea monster boss or really offbeat "treasure".

  6. people saying "6.2 has so much content that it could be an expansion!" (seen this hover around twitter a few times)
is just plain wrong, it's not that much content when you think about it
    – MSQ that takes tops 1.5 to 2 hours, that's with reading and taking my time.
    – island sanctuary is gonna be a long 1, but that's designed that way, so i see it as an daily basically, still skeptical but it shows promise, the biggest jarring thing is that it can't be used as an housing … why not? your housing system is abysmal, you got an perfect opportunity to expand housing, instead of having an shitty apartment , you'll have AN ISLAND.
    – the trial (which likely right after the dungeon, since this is heavily FF4 inspired, Scarmilgione "dies" in the dungeon and then back attack us in an cutscene, triggering the trial)
    – PvP is meh honestly, even with other effects off it's too flashy for me, i rarely have an idea what someone is doing, sure i could pump in 10-100s of hours to figure it out, but no thanks, FF14s combat system doesn't do PvP an favor.
Also what many have mentioned, that if we want to play together we need to queue around the same time, which they're trying to get rid of … why is it so bad for casual matches to be able to get match made, make 1 playlist with only solo, 1 with teams and then 1 ranked.
They're likely worried that their precious PvP gamemode is gonna bite the dust like literally any other PvP attempt they've made, and they're right, the majority simply doesn't like PvP, CC isn't gonna last because the demand isn't there, it'll be like frontline, where some will play it, but not many.
    – savage content is finally my main drive, i love the MSQ and trials, but those are done within the day, but Savage, my group is aiming for an 4-5 week clear, that's way more playtime than the MSQ and the trials offer me.
1 thing i'm hopeful for is, the music sounds 100x better than the 1st tier, the fights will actually be difficult, i knoq Yoshi said the fights are difficult, but i don't trust his opinion on difficulity.
I remember when the last tier of Eden was in the Live Letter and Yoshi said that E11S was gonna be a prog stopper for many groups, it really wasn't the fight was basic as it could be, just an slightly stricted DPS check which was quite easily overcome once you and your static knew the fight.
The glamour looks amazing, but i'm not a big fan anymore of big bulky armor, used to love it, but not anymore, the weapons look sick atleast.
    – and then … hildibrand … why?
i get some love the humor in that and at times i enjoy that humor aswel, just not in FF14, thankfully i've done up to stormblood, so i only need to skip through the current shit, but it's frustrating that i gotta engage with that content, more so that the relic is tied to that.
people saying "it's only skipping, what's the matter!" … ok, so if you're at the beginning of hildi, it can take hours to get past everything.
in this case we can also say "why aren't you leveling an gatherer? it's only a day worth of grinding to get to max level" (also just don't like the overreactions to these questlines, another reason why i despised Lala's early on in FF14, whenever 1 of the syndicate Lala's would act suprised it was so over the top)

  7. Feels like alot of people missed that the new hard dungeon, atleast savage is locked behind Savage raids ilvl. Its really badly designed that the single hard 4-man content they finally release after yeard and years of complaining from dungeoneers. They lock it behind raids, seems like alot of people missed this.

  8. My biggest issue with CC isn’t that I can’t queue with friends, I’d love to but it’s not an end all be all issue for me. No, my biggest issue is how they handle the general matchmaking and grouping of players.

For both current seasons I’ve been legit blocked from progressing because the people I’m grouped with are either new or inexperienced. I’m not hardcore for CC, but it’s frustrating to win a single game out of 30 every day and not being able to even progress.

  9. With the island sanctuary, I hope this is something they work to keep relevant for years to come. I hate the way World of Warcraft would introduce a big new feature, only for it to become redundant as soon as the next expansion comes out. Get a little farm in Pandaria, no longer matters. You build and run a garrison in Warlords, useless now. Each class gets a prominent new base of operations … then never used again.
