Alisae's Quest | Patch 5.4 | FFXIV: Shadowbringers

Helloo

Hope you enjoy this one 🙂
I apologize if this was not shown on Tuesday. The video actually ran too long, and I still wanted to keep everything story related since it’s important?
So I had to cut the video down to two parts of Patch 5.4. I hope that’s okay. The rest of of 5.4 will be also out on Thursday.

So close to showing the end.. and then Endwalker will arrive! 😀
Thanks for watching!

  2. G'raha is so easy to love. Its his earnest nature, his love for you and his… everything about him. He believes in you, and it nearly makes me believe in myself in real life. Plus he's a real cutie.

  3. I know some of the voices in 5.4 all sound different, but they are still same people. Only one voice was new and that was Master Matoya. Her VA passed between Stormblood and Shadowbringers. When Y'shtola describes her master, each first letter spells out her VA's name in her honor.

  4. Man, everybody thinks Cid sounds different
Same VA, hasn't had a line since 3.56 (end end of HW), and was reported to be somewhat sick when recording his lines as 5.4 was the first at-home recorded patch, 5.3 was still in-house before the first pandemic lockdowns
Ironically, Matoya is the VA I didn't realize had changed, due to her passing. Sounded similar enough to the original that it didn't click until I found out

  5. I missed Master Matoya. The real one, I mean. She's at that age where she longer give a flying frick what other people think of her so she just live in her cave and want to be left alone. She's a whole mood.

  6. That actual password is pretty dark if you've done things like Warring Triad, Coils and SMN job quests. The amount of implied and known atrocities the Allagans committed against not just their enemies but even their own. For someone's secret notes being passworded behind "Freedom" just sets in like fridge horror.

  7. 23:08 It is definitely rare that anyone who doesn't make alts regularly (*cough*) actually remembers G'raha playing that game with us back when getting access to Labyrinth of the Ancients way back in the day, so don't feel TOO bad. 😛 Honestly, even I wouldn't have remembered if the dialogue choice hadn't made me remember.

    24:02 Don't worry, Miqo'te are canonically polygamists anyway. 😛

26:35 Holy crap, you found the crazy rare Hyperelectricity weather. It indicates that a really rare FATE is up in Azys Lla. I've never actually seen it before now. @_@

  8. A cute little details in the dungeon:
    • Off to the right by the entrace there is a little nook with some bookshelves, a table, and a Y'shtola-themed cushion. Presumably it was her little space in the workshop.
    • Y'shtola comments when you fight the Nixie boss "Gods, it's still here" and alludes that it was a familiar she created as a child.

  9. I liked it very much when Nobuo Uematsu's Eternal Wind map theme from Final Fantasy III started playing when G'raha Tia met Cid again. Eternal Wind played during the Crystal Tower cutscene in which G'raha parted from you, Cid, Rammbroes, Biggs, and Wedge to take a very long catnap in the tower. Eternal Wind played so much during cutscenes with him in Final Fantasy XIV, I referred to it as the Crystal Exarch [G'raha Tia] theme in a video.
EDIT: I forgot to include Rammbroes in that cutscene.
