BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LILY! hehe if BRD gets even more messed up in Endwalker, I'm becoming a healer main. I really enjoy healing in xiv. More than any other MMO I've played. Loving your videos Albs, keep up the great work. 🙂
Yeah healer main
he's not wrong, as a SCH Selene is the healer… i'm a broil mage.
WHM main here, please worship me so I can keep my god complex.
As a WHM, if I'm running out of mp, I'm not doing something wrong, you're doing something wrong.
Blood for the Blood Lily.
As a SCH if I'm mad with someone I'll let Eos heal heal them
no one hates healers, more than other healers, if you overwrite my divination one more time, I'll go insane
WHM Main here. I healz… when I am not killing my enemies and building my blood gauge!!!
WHM main 👌🏻
JoCat adds the items from previous guides in to his intro music.
So expect to see healer equipment in his DPS video (when he makes it)
I don't play healer very often as I enjoy my monk at the moment, but when I do, man do I like blinding people with holy and making the tank sweat until their very last HP. Mmmmmm-m! Tasty!
And yes…. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LILY!!!
Started as White Mage. Played as nothing BUT White Mage….for 3 years. I have been able to take down DPS and TANKS in PvP combat, have soloed every Extreme up to the end of Heavensward, at least once (though Titan is now my punk), and have run dungeons at minimum item level up to the end of Stormblood just to flex. I am currently working on getting my silver ranking in Feast season 20 and getting my final re lic weapon as White Mage.
And yes, while I normally don't flex this arrogantly, I will definitely say once and all that WHITE MAGE IS GAWD!!S XD
I'm both a scholar and Astrologian. I main ninja though
Yep level 80 WHM over hear one of my friends that tanks for my dungeons knows full well of how I operate and it's exactly this video lol I leave his health to like 25% and then begin to heal since I do focus on DPS lol love this video and enjoyed the reaction
Oh god just remembered the damn rescue shit I've pulled with my group one time haha. We were farming titan extreme for the mount and it was taking so long but once I decided to jump to to offer sacrifice to titan daddy I pulled the tank with me and we got the damn mount. Did this several times and got it each time though one time I messed up and we didn't get it, and guess what did it right after that and for the mount again lol god that was a good night laughing so damn much with the group
Actually, it's really not that bad, once you get used to it. In FFXIV, every fight, and I mean EVERY fight has a very set timeline with not very many variations (mostly due to randomness). This also means, that the instances, where aoe damage goes out, are always at the same times, every time you do a fight. Basically, as a healer you just have to learn, at which point the party has to be full life and ascertain, together with your healing partner, how to reach that goal. This means, that you often can leave people on low life after an aoe while you wait for e.g. a star to pop or an assize to be ready, or any other kind of instant aoe heal that is off the GCD. Or it means, that you'll just use a hot and tick everybody to full. And the MT can to 99% be kept alive with oGCD heals, too. Once you have figured out this specific dance, you have quite a lot of time on your hands, where you have to neither heal nor move. And this time would be wasted, if you DON'T glare at the boss. The only time this rule is broken is, when people make mistakes and need extra heals (or raises, if they really fucked up, which can happen fairly quickly on Savage since standing in the red can, and often will, mean instant death if you're not a tank).
There are of course many other things that set apart bad, good and very good healers. Usage of your own cooldowns, for example, or how you react to situations when things go south, how good you are at doing your own mechanics while keeping track of your party, healing and dpsing, etc. etc. etc.
Me SCH main, me like shields
Healing isn't as complicated as you think it is, damage isn't random so you just dps until you need to heal and then go to doing damage.
Your job as a healer isn't fixing other peoples mistakes either, if they want to eat aoes, let them! they'll learn soon enough to not fucking do that, they won't learn that if you keep patching their dumb asses up and kissing their booboos.
I like books
Foreal though. In every game healers have a god complex. Bro just do your job and heal us it's not our fault you have to wear a dress and play with wood to do your job 😜
To be fair, as a white mage, i can tell ya that most of the time having magica 2 on everyone and keeping an eye on your tank is enough, so there is a good amount of downtime for damage or atleast to apply your dot on enemies
Ahhh, it sounds like you have yet to be introduced to the 3 types of DPS in FFXIV: Red DPS, Blue DPS, and Green DPS! >:D I have mained tank for most of my playtime, but picked up WHM not too long ago and running with that, learning how to White Mage, and boy let me tell you, Squadron Missions through the Grand Company is literally the best place to learn how to practice playing a Healer class while also leveling quickly from about 20-61. It really pushes you with sensory overload from the beginning, but once you get used to how fights work, what you need to do to keep the tank (or DPS) alive, then you can start learning openings and rotations and what is great in different situations. Some Squadron Missions are MUCH harder than others if playing as a Healer class, tho, due to the AI being quite crude paired with certain mechanics that make the boss harder. But thank FUCK most mechanics actually don't affect them at all. Def prepares you to run dungeons with actual people so you don't feel like you're dragging everyone down because you don't understand that WHM's Cure I needs to be immediately removed from the hotbar unless running dungeons under lvl30. The virgin WHM uses Cure I. The CHAD WHM uses Regen…and occasionally Cure II.
Seriously. Regen is stupid good and should always be applied to the tank after they pull (or before, but out of range of the enemies so you don't obtain enmity, depends on situation and party comp). This is the key that allows healers to become DPS, I personally discovered that works for me. It really is mindblowing that you can go through the vast majority of the dungeons–sans Savages, Extremes, and Ultimates–as WHM with literally just Regen, Cure II, Medica II, and the Lily Skills in terms of healing.
Also, worth noting for any newbie White Mages: Regen, Asylum, and Medica II's regen abilities ALL STACK. So popping Asylum (that I hope you're weaving) into Medica II is really awesome super regen for when the pain train's a'comin!!
Lol Astro healer here 😛
Give it a shot
Dps, heal, shield, and juggle cards ^.^
I raid as a healer.
I have yelled at my DRK for not standing in my Star.
Edit: I WORKED HARD TO BE THIS DAMN GOOD. AND I WILL BE FUCKING PETTY.
Healer DPS rotation is literally put up DoT then mash the one button over and over, its really not that bad.
