Lol⌠the first boss. Seemed like they knew what they were doing⌠then suddenly they didnât.
Explaining the time travel shenanigans takes a bit of mind warping. 100 years after black rose caused the 8th umbral calamity, Bigg's the 3rd (the descendant of the current Biggs we know) was the 18th president of Garlond Ironworks. You read that right. 18 presidents from our Cid to Biggs 3rd. This Biggs descendant is the one we saw in that weird point-of-view flashback where we saw the Heavensward book. (we were looking at the scene through G'Raha's eyes)
Future Biggs woke up Graha and the crystal tower, combined it's ability to store aether with the knowledge Cid put together from the Crystal Tower, Alexander, and Omega raids to make a time & space travel device. You'll notice Tycoon, the Twinning's final boss looks like Alexander but with the Ironworks logo. Yep… they MADE an artificial Alexander.
Once everything was set in place, Future Biggs and Co. sent Graha to the past and to the first shard. The reason he sounds like its his 'final' message in that machine is because they expected their timeline to be erased once Graha stops the coming calamity.
A lot of the enemies here are from FF13 đ
If you would like to know more about just how it came to this even taking place, I would highly recommend reading the first few Tales from the Shadows over on the FFXIV Lodestone. It goes into great detail into just what the hell happened to make such a desperate gamble so extremely necessary.

hmm didnt know albs had cleared any of the 8 man raids. this basically ties the alexander raids and omega raids crystal tower raids into 1., story wise. would make for some good videos
