  1. As a bard main this didn't teach me anything I didn't already know so I rate this guide 9/10 and would recommend for anyone wanting to learn bard to max level.

  2. Man I think it's just me, I have a habit that when I raging strike with my battle voice , I use iron jaw because in my mind, does it also increase my dot damage? XD

  3. I got my mom to play ffxiv with me a couple months ago, and I suggested she played Bard because it was the dps I started as so I could help her the most with it. I didn't realize she hadn't read any of the tool tips though, so she thought if she used all the songs at once, their buffs would stack LMAO I think I broke her heart when I told her they dont

  4. Always been a BRD main. I came in here half expecting jokes about how it's so easy, and was pleasantly surprised. You go over almost everything I could ask for in a BRD guide. You even covered the advanced stuff that I still have issues working on while doing my savage runs, so I can say i'm pretty happy with how you did the guide.

As for the fun aspect, it's likely because BRD has a lot of what feels like busywork in it's combos, and no rotation ever really plays out the exact same. Even though we spam filler GCDs like no tomorrow, BRD doesn't ever feel like it's rotation is stagnant for lack of a better term, at least to me.

There are a lot of nuanced moments that make BRD tougher to optimize in some aspects (Most of the ones I can think of involve Apex Arrow of all things), but are marginal enough that I wouldn't tell a newer BRD player to worry about.

Also to add to "BRD's tooltips don't tell you anything", at level 64 when you get your improved DoTs, they don't tell you that your proc rate on song's doubles. They just sneakily add it to the song tooltips.

  5. Bard is so fucking bad this expansion it’s ridiculous, everything does the same amount of damage it’s so boring. I love bard but oh my god why is it so pathetic.

  6. best for alexander ultimate.. i don't think its true, he mostly benefits from p1 and p2 duo target phases. It makes him shine on fflog, but p1 and p2 are phases where DPS check is the less relevant. i really prefer a MCH that can eco some ressources to nuke p3 and at the end of p3 enrage, eco again to obliterate perfect.

  7. ok with pitch perfect… I just hit it when the sound goes off…
yes full pitch perfect n apex arrow have 2 different sounds
wardens is something I mostly use when a healer got paralized…. cuz paralize is one of the biggest Bs on any caster
bard is fun because its can be so chaotic and because its busy

  8. Algorithm brought me here 'cause they found out I used to play Bard back in 2.0 but quit after they forced them to be casters. Holy shit what is this rotation/priority lol

  9. Small correction, Mage's Ballad is best for mob packs since it procs an aoe attack, then Army's Paeon, then Wanderer's Minuet. I only say that because Wanderer's Minuet only generates a single target attack, which is useful for single targets, but not as useful for mob packs.

  10. Well, the reason other DPS like lancers don't have AOE's by Sastasha is clearly because Yoshi P thinks you shouldn't attack big groups or use AOE's when fighting groups of enemies… be gentle, relaxed, take is slow, have a soothing time. Bard only has it to attain maximum spoony-ness.

  11. 7:12 I’ve been playing Bard since I joined the game at the beginning of Stormblood and I’m just now learning that Empyreal Arrow gives a Repertoire stack. Also yeah, tooltips suck. The Apex Arrow tooltip was super misleading at the beginning of Shadowbringers and made it seem like it does way more damage than it actually does

  12. I'll be honest…. playing Bard is what got me to try healing. I figured "If I can keep track of all these timers and dots and ticks… SURELY I can keep track of my friend's HP"

    <– Now mains WHM

    <– Will be maining PLD

  13. As a returning player I'm pretty bummed about Repelling Shot not dealing damage anymore :/ I see they've also removed the cross-class skills, so no more borrowing Lancer skills for added crit chance .
