Bad expansion, just accept that already.
YOSHI-P: I want to commit the timeless sin if making absolute slop for "All Audiences"
Try appealing to everyone, apeal to no one.
People are already whining about the difficulty in the game with DT. Imagine how big of a liability your gonna be on a phone… shits not gonna happen, and if it does, we can forget about ever having a decent DF experience again… every job has on average like 25-30 buttons… how the hell is that going to be mapped, and how are you going to be able to hit those buttons? How's movement going to work? I'm just saying… I'll believe when I see it and honestly, I hope I don't see it. And that's before you bring Tencent into the mix… this could legitimately threaten the integrity of the game.
I worry about mobile, does this mean the game will be designed around irs limitations?
Hate mobile gaming with a passion. I don't see how they could possible bring FF14 to mobile without severely gimping the play experience, and with the looming threat of more microtransactions (which FF14 up to this point have just barely managed to keep tolerable) I can only see this move as a negative.
Suggestions I have is that New job should always start at level 1 no matter what so players can feel the job even more and they have something to do and to look forward.
Job story quest should be voiced too instead of just text.
Dont add another skills on next expansions, theres already too much. Just upgrade and change the old ones.
Level cap should stop at level 100 for now I think but this is debatable
I hope we can hangout with the NPC we love just like how Genshin character quest does. Every character have their own voiced story quest that can make you closer to the character.
I have more suggestions but I'll stop here
FF14 Is an overall incredible game. If I may include an idea I believe could work with the leveling system and item level is to add something called "Evolution" which can be a completely separate level system that activates once you hit level 100 within a class. Think of it similarly to ESO's Champion level that kicks in at level 50 on a character. This "Evolution" can be an added bonus to progression and include unique items to unlock only for that specific class for example Evolution level 10 will unlock a new outfit with a unique perk that will buff you in a unique way similar to Bozja gear or Eureka how it only affects those areas but instead this can be in affect in all areas with small buffs but meaningful whether it's a slight increase of attacks speed, Spell Speed and so on. However the newer content that comes along will have something similar to a item level cap or level sync but for Evolution. I believe this idea will attract new possibilities with each player and their class. Especially with unique outfits for each class that hits specific levels. However this will not affect pvp of course due to balancing reasons
if micro trans added I’ll stop playing
What about a new form of progression which allows you to exchange EXP for points to strengthen skills individually and raise your stats little by little?
Id love to see the job system being expanded as progression, it felt so amazing to change from a lancer to a Dragoon for the first time, would love if there was something that goes further, as an upgrade to the job, perhaps give these new jobs its own leveling branch so it does not need to go beyond 100, or instead of lvling tie the new skills behind the story quests, it used to be a thing before, it could be used again to combat level cap
Yes, making changes to game is probably a good option down the line but for the love of God please don’t Add mobile version.
I'd like to see a complete overhaul of skills and jobs. Maybe something like having certain skills require having X amount of a stat to be able to use, and give a lot more gear with horizontal progression to allow for different "builds" within a job. Imagine a melee dps job with a build that focuses on dots and uptime, or having that same job more focused on burst and crit damage just through the use of a different gearset and melds. If they tied hotbars to gearsets, people could switch seamlessly between their builds depending on the content they are doing or the groups they are a part of.
There's a possibility that it's XI mobile that's coming and not XIV. There was an XI mobile game in the works for a while, assets created and all that, internal demo. It may not be a coincidence that the raid series for Dawntrail is from FFXI.
There are many things they can do to change the game and to some degree keep it the same. XI had the same issue. The level cap was not raised for a long time, and you could invest in "Merit Points" at each of the higher level caps to improve your jobs in ways that differed depending on your needs or that of your group. When they finally capped level, they added a system with tons of a new type of merit point, essentially a second leveling system that also had some key points that changed the jobs. This may not be a possible approach in FFXIV because of the mass homogenization.
They've removed TP from the game, made enmity easier, essentially the flick of a button. They might chose to introduce different enmity dynamics along with bringing back an old resource or adding a new one then breaking the Holy Trinity of Tank/DPS/Healer and throw in Support. Rebalance around that for going forward, replace a DPS slot as allowing a Support class spot. They'll all increase DPS in different ways, which will lead back into the world of metas but only to a limited degree (i.e: maybe one Support does 8% more DPS through buffs while another loses that 8% DPS but has a battle rez + more defensive/healing capabilities.
There's probably not that many things they can do unless they completely unshackle themselves which is something they won't do, so their stuck within a certain paradigm of homogeneity between jobs in a class and their abilities. Toss in something for each job that's not just "press new button for same old* and you've got yourself a refreshed game.
I kind of feel Dawntrail is a vacation. I didn't expect a dramafilled emotionally ravaging thing here, but a vacation between the previous storyline and the next. I think Yoshi expressed it in a vaguely similar way at one point. Really looking forward to what they will do going forward 🙂
I don't understand this hate. Zodiark Arc is over. It is just the beginning of a new one.
ff14 mobile? No thanks
I would love to see the skills that chain together be more condensed like it is in PVP also for the lvl cap being 100 now we need a new type of progression. Gear that can be lvled up to max stats or add more potency to certain skills something along those lines.
Just because its the start of a new story doesnt mean it HAS to be bad/boring…….too many people making excuses for the devs……
I really can't see a mobile version of this game lasting, not unless it's specifically a gathering, hunting, and general low-impact stuff. Gold Saucer minigames, Triple Triad, Lord of Verminion, etc.
Having major story beats told through a phone would completely ruin the entire point of the game, and the desire for Tencent turning it into a profitable(read: whale funding) formula just screams red flags for me.
Maybe it's an intent to expand the Chinese and Korean markets, which are the only two servers that are completely region-locked. Maybe it's intended for a global market. But I honestly can't see it working if it's trying to implement the entire story, all classes and jobs, and be engaging on a tiny screen with limited touch functionality. The game is far too advanced for that.
I won’t give up on FFXIV.
Why dont they make xi mobile?
i have keyboard for both my feet lmao
wayy too many skill to pressed
the Idea of not raising the level cap and do purely item level instead woud work exellently if our jobs get new skills and or power ups via jobquest unlocks or even if our jobs undergo an evolution like the base jobs do at level 30. like if our character finds a way to further increase the power of our job stones themselfes.
Going ahead it might also be a great change if the number of dungeons or bosses would differ from expansion to expansion to make it less forshadowable how many dungeons and bosses we encounter in the msq.
