  1. I went from mythic raiding halfway through BFA i gave up and went Classic full on non stop till half way through TBC then jumped over to try FFXIV and i found ARR totally fine haha if anything it was great tbh just crusing along sussing the game out, SE done a great job of letting it all build up over time so when you get to SB etc you have a very good idea of whats going on and how classes play etc not to mention the amount of stuff there is to actually do and suss out in the game,, its massive. 6 months down the line now and i am still discovering things i didnt know lmao

  3. Few problems I got when I try to play.
    1) Which version should I buy, US, EU, or JP
    2) How to buy subs for each version (or which one is available for purchase in the country I'm in, with no visa & mastercard), I end up asking my friend to charge webmoney in jp convenience store.
    3) I see they got the jp version here, now do they come with english language? (FF Type 0 chinese ver only have chinese language)
    4) Now I need to put my address and name in Kanji and Katakana. Can I use english? what happen if they ask for id and I don't have the jp name I use or address?
    5) What is this authentication app I need to install on my phone
    6) So which server should I play? the closest is JP, is there english speaking people there? now jp datacenter, which server should I go to? After researching again for a while, it's tonberry.
    7) Will the server block my ip, or will the country I'm in block FFXIV ip? because I'm a foreigner, currently in cn, they have local FFXIV but I can't play because it needs local id card. and my local language is not great. And when I go back to my home country I'd want to still be able to play.
    8) How do I start the free trial? probably I need to buy the game first and it will only count as sub after heavensward (it's not, I used my sub day 1). I bought the starter one.
    9) So this game quite fun, what expansion do I need to buy? shadowbringer or endwalker? this shadowbringer is quite cheap. After research, endwalker expansion includes all previous expansions. lucky I didn't buy shadowbringer first, otherwise I need to pay 2x.

This is like Account Registration (Savage).

  4. To be honest with you, as someone that lived in Indonesia, I also have the same problem. I might say that because they unofficially open their game for SEA, they didn't need to put some countries on the registration form. However, until this day my account was set in US however I put my original Indonesia address on it. Until now, there's no problem and I tried to make some forum post regarding some issues and their support give me some feedback which I am so relieved. To be honest, some games that didn't support some countries can do IP blocking (even though it can be bypass by VPN) or some measurement but i'm happy that SE didn't do anything unless we commit breaching TOS i suppose.

If SE can open for SEA, it will be great though…

  5. …I think SE already knew about SEA players. Still frustrated about SEA region not installed into FFXIV, but many Malaysian, Indonesian, Philipines, Thailand and other SEA region are also plays FFXIV. You can search our community in SEA region(JP data center) we always active every day. Cheers. Also, we are not few…. many. many SEA players. You're not the only one.๐Ÿ‘

  6. Same experience when creating an account for the first time way back 2015. I was baffled how to play this game then so I just became an illegal immigrant as well…well virtually haha XD. I think SE didn't really anticipated that they'll have a following for FFXIV on SEA to be honest. I was also quite shocked (at that time) that they have no SEA server and people from SEA would have to pick either from a US,EU or JP server to play in. At least we have OCE now.

  7. I always hear that FFXIV account creation is pretty tricky, but I don't remember it being like that. Granted, that's probably because I don't remember creating my account at all, but I'd think if I had lots of trouble with it, I wouldn't have forgotten it so easily. Then again, it is a very long time ago… Well, at least, being from Germany, I surely had no problems finding my country (that would be weird, considering that the game is in German). But now I wonder if Liechtenstein is listed.

Speaking of languages, I find it weird that FFXIV only supports very few. English, Japanese, French, German plus separate Chinese and Korean versions… and that's it, as far as I know. One would think they'd roll out more languages by now.

  8. With OCE DCs now up and running it won't be long now for SEA servers I think. Here's me with my hopes anyway. Oh god I hope Squeenix' financial decisions of late don't mess up how FFXIV is being run.

  9. I did something similar with PSN account.
Since not all games come to EU, I found an empty plot of land on Google maps for the address.
Only to find few years later, checking out of curiosity, that house was built there… ๐Ÿ˜

  10. SEA Countries (like me from the Philippines) have fake US Addresses, which is basically our real address, except the State is California, Zip Code is 90210 (Beverly Hills, thanks TV series!), and US as the Country.

  11. I'm from Costa Rica, my biggest problem with inviting people to play is that there's not an Spanish version. It's a bit hard to find a Spanish speaking community here

  13. Considering how many of the WOW content "refugees" I see that seem to start in Limsa, I'm ok with the headcanon of them being "immigrants" travelling across the sea to reach Eorzea for a better life

  14. The account creation is a screw-up since the FFXI days. For SG that looking to try out the game, I suggest creating an NA account because of the SGD to USD exchange rate. As for the address just select a random US state and enter a rubbish address too. Please rmb the DOB you entered, you need it to edit ur info in the future. ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S To think of if EU/Pound to SGD has a better conversion rate now.
