I would prefer a harder game in the early stages. Hardcore early gameplay can be more satisfying. While I may still play games that are easy at the beginning, given the choice, I prefer the harder path early on.
Engaging is the perfect word. Usually harder content is more engaging. Give engaging content at all levels.
As someone with a career and family I don’t mind some ease in MMOs. I can enjoy them without sweating.
Shared stress is what gets you to bond with other people. Those close relationships with guildies that we miss in EQ were a direct result of the hell we had to slog through together. Those shared experiences that we had to help each other through. At this point, I'd rather have two good game days a week, than tons of mediocre ones.
I remember how intense and deadly exploring was in EQ. Today's MMOs are like talking a casual walk down to the 7-11 to get a coffee. Bring back the challenge, the sweating, and the reward at all levels.
The only hard content in FFXIV lies in EX Raids. This needs to change, and I'm glad Yoshi-P agrees. Some people will probably screech about it, but as someone who started with Asheron's Call I find the difficulty of FFXIV extremely lacking.
I want a dark souls difficulty mmo
Dark souls up a mmo so me and the gang can sweat with stress induced anxiety
What I hate about MMOs today is it’s too mainstreamed. It’s not about having fun. It’s about getting to the top as fast as possible. Getting advantages over other players etc.
I dont care if they put challenge at every level, so long as I can solo that challenge. (I dont mean in a way that a party would slaughter it, I mean there are a lot MMOs that make party-only dungeons that dont scale to a party of one, so soloing the game if youre the antisocial type is impossible)
Tf is an easy game I only play dark souls what do you mean by too easy
I want the end game to have segmented High difficulty and the beginning of the game to have God mode and get max level within 8 hours. I love grinding quests. Give me Permanent stat increases in quest. Force me to help other people do quests in order to maintain some of my stats
I feel like ff14 is perfect as it is. it does start easy but ramps up quickly
Yes.
Not just easy in terms of difficulty though.
Everything about MMO's is watered down to the extreme, in order to cater to the Lowest Common Denominator.
To be honest, I am surprised MMORPG's arent 99% e-girl stripper porn games with dialogue written at a pre-K level and send you crack in the mail. Lowest Common Denominator afterall. But I guess since kids are 90% of video games, they have to remain PG-13 to really exploit capitalism and get those fortnite minecraft bux.
100% easy, add ons really minimize the difficulty
