Final Fantasy XIV (14) is a game I have put off for years because I don’t like the aesthetic, but after playing it for a couple of hours, I finally understand the charm, community, quality and detail of what they’ve done here. More video’s to come I think!

What world or server did you start in?
It's a treat that on your first day, you bore witness to a group performance of Bards. On fair days, there might be a solo performer or two; but group performances are a rarity in on itself (at least on my server).
I usually have performances turned off in my audio settings. Teleporting into an aetheryte plaza and hearing random street buskers plinking away at their harps is a pet peeve of mine, since it kinda disharmonizes the otherwise solid ambient music. If I ran into a coordinated group performance like this though I imagine I would have the same reaction.
What the ever living fuck? Anime? FFXIV is the furthest thing from anime you could ever get. I've played for over 8~ years and not once would I describe any aspect of this game as "anime." The only games that could qualify would be PSO2 which has collabs with dozens of actual anime shows and the art/animation style of WoW, which is heavily inspired by animation (slack jawed animations, overly emotive animation, etc.)
