The user rating in Metacritic is extra impressive considering the login issues. If it was any other game, it'll be review bombed to high hell. But because Creative Business Unit 3 has established such good relationship with their customers, you get an audience who is mostly receptive and understanding.
This is how you set a bar. While the issues are understandably frustrating, they deserve all the respect.

notes are subjective to some extend, ffix was not my favourite ff even though it's good; as for ff xiv now that the first cycle is complete, i might give it a shot in a few months and go through the whole story, i'll wait for the traffic jam to calm down though. or they could do a ff xiv oofline now that the whole story is done, like dragon quest x
Not at Endwalker yet, not even to Stormblood, but absolutely loving Dragonsong patches. Just went with little Korbold to rescue his parents from the Patriarch. Need a cup of tea and a lie down now.
As bad as this problem is, the response from Yoshi-P is a hard proof that FF 14 truly deserve the ongoing game and best community award.
Someone needs to be honest lmao, is endwalker great? YES! BUT you have to get through about 3 hours of horribly boring and sometimes completely unnecessary filler quest. It felt literally like just moving a character from here to there, I kept thinking: “boy can’t wait to actually play”. The pacing is awful in the beginning! It’s honestly awful up until the ending of Garlemald then it starts to pick up! I remember when I started playing ARR I was like “boy I wish there were more cutscenes” and in Endwalker I’m like “enough with the f&$king cutscenes” 85% of them are sooo unnecessary lmao. I get the honeymoon fan fare because it’s a new expansion but to sit in a que of 6k to move your character from here to there lol. It’s funny too because we have all seen ff14s infamous “please set time aside for the cutscenes” like tell me why half of the cutscenes they don’t warn you about are twice as long lmao. My poor dog has to go outside and I keep soothing him “surely it’s almost done boo…surely” lmfao. I’d also like to say there are certain story points where, in my opinion could have been epic but ended up being 5 min then there are completely boring story points that are 45min. It’s an on going issue lol, I remember thinking that a lot throughout the expansion and patch history. All of that said it’s a visually stunning game, the pacing is literally awful I’d argue the worst in the series, haven’t finished yet but the actual story is okay….lol, maybe by the time im done I’ll think it’s the best, so far all things said it’s my 3rd fave installment lol.
As a conspiracy theorist as well (🤪) part of me can’t help but wonder if it’s all a ruse lol. Aka the lack of servers and parts etc. The player projectory isn’t anything new at all. I can’t help but think it’s the perfect media windstorm, the worlds best game you can’t even play!!!! With apologetic ceos who actually care about the consumers and players! Like I won’t not put it past them to be this genius and all of us square babies eating it up like trash lol! It’s basic supply and demand, people want what they can’t have!

I’ve finished endwalker and enjoy every moment of it and wish can replay those. EW is such an amazing expansion, 14 story is well written and well presented and so glad I get to play before this exodus happened

I beat one the extreme trials this evening, it was awesome. The whole group was blind, but after 3 hours, we did it. I wasnt able to get that kind of experience before, probably because I was always late to the content, but I'm glad I was there on release day this time.
Not finished yet but Endwalker is definitely on track to be my favorite FFXIV expansion.
I was so "lucky" I guess, when Early Access began, I was in quarantine so I was home all day, so I could finish the MSQ in 4 days (4×16 hours 🤣). And it was soo good, I loved it. It was such a good experience
I'm glad i got into this game a month ago. The amount of madness surrounding it is fun to witness, although, i do wish i had gotten into it months ago so i could have gotten to post Shadowbringers without all this clutter and congestion.

Getting tired of all the "SE too cheap to buy more servers!" comments every time they give an update. I've lost count on how many times Yoshi P has explained that they have tried! Even willing to pay more. –__-
